Abstract

This study aims to describe the essence of heterogeneity of organizational behavior in educational institutions. This research uses a literature study method by observing various documents from books and journals. The literature study focuses on researching literature related to the essence of heterogeneity of organizational behavior in educational institutions and democratic leadership. Data collection is carried out by collecting literature data, reading, recording, and managing research results objectively, systematically, analytically, and critically by looking at the year of publication and the most up-to-date research. The results of this study show that the existence of cultural backgrounds caused by differences between regions affects the way of thinking, attitudes, work styles, and communication styles of each individual and must be managed using strong motivation through work appreciation, recognition, and salary, strong leadership, and minimizing conflicts. Democratic leadership has a role in determining the success of an educational institution because this leadership provides a proportionate space for subordinates to be involved in the institution's progress. The heterogeneity of organizational behavior is inevitable in organizations, so it must be appropriately managed. This management requires organizational leadership so subordinates feel valued and improve their performance to advance educational institutions.

A digital mindset, which reflects teachers' readiness and ability to utilize digital technology, is a key factor in driving innovation in education. Innovation among chemistry teachers includes creativity in teaching methods, the use of technology in the classroom, and the application of teaching approaches relevant to 21st-century needs. The technique used is a quantitative survey. The sample of this study consists of 60 chemistry teachers. Data collection techniques use a Likert scale questionnaire with five response options: Always, Often, Sometimes, Rarely, and Never. Data analysis is performed using SEM with the help of the SmartPLS 3.0 program. The results of the study show a coefficient value of 0.862 with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 32.794 > 1.96, indicating that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, signifying a significant influence of digital mindset on teachers' innovative behavior. Abstract

School climate and teacher self-efficacy were correlated with research areas on physical, physiological, and personal and collective beliefs. Quantitatively, prior studies have reported positive results on students' performance. However, scant evidence in the school climate body of literature explored from a qualitative perspective to describe why and how teacher self-efficacy contributes to a positive school climate beyond students’ performance. Therefore, this study explores school climate and teacher self-efficacy in an Indonesian senior high school. Moreover, this study approached Yin’s (2018) case study with qualitative design. The case was one of an urban school with the school’s paradigm and policy to integrate technology into the teaching process to face the entertainment industry. Eight teachers were recruited from four subjects (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Physical, Social, and Biology). The data were collected through observations and interviews, and we employed thematic analysis. Our study shows that 1) physical school climate with sufficient school facilities and technology supported the development of good school climate that facilitated teachers to seek feedback and reflection; 2) teachers' self-feedback and peer evaluative feedback became a point of departure for teachers' engagement with teachers’ sources of self-efficacy that affected their development of teaching performance and strategy. Theoretical and practical implications of school climate and teacher self-efficacy will also be discussed.
