Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of counseling and training on the manufacture of probiotic-based health drinks as well as the self-efficacy ability of members of the community group waste management in the city of Depok on the interest in the probiotic beverage business. The 68 respondents included members of the Dahlia Pirus waste bank group (Pondokjaya Village, Cipayung District), Mekar Peduli waste bank (Krukut Sub-district, Limo District) and the Villa Tanah Baru waste bank (Tanah Baru, Beji). This activity involves students. The research method uses multiple regression analysis. The research results show that training has a positive and significant effect on business interest, but self-efficacy has a negative and insignificant effect on business interest.

Abstract

Arabica coffee is one of the mainstay commodities in the Indonesian plantation sector. Geographical differences and the environment where coffee grow can affect the characteristic, phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of the beans. The aim of this study was to determine the phytochemical characteristics and antioxidant activity of 10 items of commercial Arabica coffee beans in Indonesia. The extraction of 10 coffee beans was carried out by kinetic maceration in 1 hour with 70% ethanol, then evaporated. Each extract was examined for morphology, phytochemical screening, assay of caffeine content using HPLC method, levels of flavan-3-ol, total flavonoid content (TFC), total polyphenolic content (TPC), antioxidant determination using DPPH and FRAP methods. All bean samples showed the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, triterpenoids, coumarins, and tannins. The chemical content determination showed caff eine content of 1.5-2.9%; flavan-3-ol content 4.85-12.38cat/g extract; TFC 9.71–23.67QE/g extract; and TPC 21.8–76.26GAE/g extract. Tests of antioxidant capacity using the DPPH reveal an inhibiting effect with varying IC₅₀ values from 19.49-81.41g/mL and using the FRAP method gave IC₅₀ values from 18.01-61.2g/mL. This study indicates that coffee samples have the same phytochemical characteristics and also have an important antioxidant activity, which justifies its potential to be developed into antioxidant nutraceuticals.

Abstract

Senior High School (SMA) has a very broad scientific scope, one of which is chemistry. In chemistry, it presents the processes, chemical notations, types, and arrangements of matter. Chemical processes can be written in a concise form, such as a reaction equation, without eliminating the microscopic and macroscopic aspects that occur in the chemical process. This equation for the reaction is a symbolic aspect of chemistry. All the substances involved in the equation of the reaction are also symbolic aspects of chemistry. In other words, chemical formulas, such as atomic symbols, element symbols, compound symbols or formulas, all of these are symbolic aspects of chemistry. This symbolic aspect is of great importance in chemistry. Training on the use of ChemSketch software is very important for high school students, especially science majors, as an enrichment for chemistry subjects and improves skills in presenting chemical data in order to improve the quality of graduates. ChemSketch software provides process symbols, chemical notations, types, arrangement of materials, and several image representations of various laboratory tools, which are quite easy to use. Training on the use of ChemSketch for SMA N 13 Depok students has been enthusiastically carried out online, the material is relevant to chemistry subject matter, easy to accept and the delivery of the material is quite interesting.

Abstract

Abstrak Jurusan Farmasi memiliki ruang lingkup keilmuan yang sangat luas salah satunya ialah ilmu kimia. Di dalam ilmu kimia menyajikan proses, notasi-notasi kimia, jenis, dan susunan materi yang bias disajikan dalam bentuk yang ringkas, seperti persamaan reaksi, dengan tidak menghilangkan aspek mikroskopis dan makroskopis di dalam prosesnya. Persamaan reaksi merupakan aspek simbolis dalam kimia. Semua zat yang terlibat dalam persamaan reaksi juga merupakan aspek simbolik dari kimia. Rumus-rumus kimia, seperti lambang atom, lambang unsur, lambang atau rumus senyawa, semuanya ini merupakan aspek simbolis dari kimia. Aspek simbolis ini merupakan hal penting dalam kimia. Pelatihan penggunaan software ChemDraw menjadi hal yang sangat penting dilakukan untuk siswa tingkat Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) khususnya jurusan farmasi, guna meningkatkan skill dalam penyajian data – data kimia mengingat lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan diharapkan bisa menjadi sumber daya manusia yang siap kerja dan berkualitas di bidangnya. Software ini menyajikan simbol – simbol proses, notasi-notasi kimia, jenis, susunan materi, dan beberapa penyajian gambar berbagai alat laboratorium, yang cukup mudah untuk digunakan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 23 Oktober 2019 kepada siswa SMK Kesehatan Pelita Ciampea Bogor. Para siswa sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan, mudah memahami materi dan mengalami peningkatan ketrampilan setelah proses pelatihan. Training on the use of ChemDraw software is very important for vocational high school (SMK) students, especially those majoring in pharmacy, in order to improve skills in presenting chemical data considering that Vocational High School graduates are expected to become human resources who are ready to work and have quality in their fields. . This software presents process symbols, chemical notations, types, composition of materials, and several image presentations of various laboratory tools, which are quite easy to use. The training was held on October 23th 2019 for students of SMK Kesehatan Pelita Ciampea Bogor. The students were very enthusiastic about participating in the activities, easy to understand the material and experienced an increase in skills after the training process.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Metode yang digunakan dalam skrining obat antihiperurisemia in vitro berdasarkan pada kemampuan suatu bahan menghambat enzim xantin oksidase dalam mengubah substrat xantin menjadi asam urat. Para peneliti mengukur aktivitas antihiperurisemia berdasarkan asam urat yang terbentuk atau xantin yang tersisa. Untuk mengetahui presisi kedua pengukuran tersebut, telah dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antihiperurisemia alopurinol berdasarkan pengukuran serapan pada panjang gelombang 291 nm dan 268 nm. Pada kondisi optimum diperoleh simpangan baku relatif persen penghambatan berdasarkan jumlah asam urat yang terbentuk 0,24-1,30%, sedangkan berdasarkan sisa xantin adalah 0,25-2,39%. Kata kunci : pengambatan, xantin oksidase, in vitro, alopurinol, presisi  ABSTRACT The method used in in vitro antihiperurisemia drug screening based on the ability of a substance  to inhibit the xanthine oxidase enzyme in converting the substrate xanthine to uric acid. The researchers measured the hyperuricemia treatment activity based on the formation of uric acid or the remaining xanthine. To determine the precision of the measurements, antihiperurisemia activity of allopurinol was conducted by measuring absorption at a wavelength of 291 nm and 268 nm. At the optimum conditions, the  relative standard deviation of percent inhibition based on the amount of uric acid was 0.24 to 1.30%, while based on the rest of the xanthine was 0.257 to 2.39%. Keywords : inhibition, xanthine oxidase, in vitro, allopurinol, precision

Abstract

Salah satu upaya peningkatan daya tahan tubuh adalah meningkatkan kesehatan saluran cerna dengan minuman kesehatan probiotik. Pembuatan minum kesehatan ini memerlukan teknik sederhana yang dapat dipraktekkan pada kelompok masyarakat. Masyarakat penggerak bank sampah adalah kelompok masyarakat yang peduli lingkungan melalui kegiatan pemilahan sampah sesuah konsep 3R (reuse, reduce dan recycle). Sebagai usaha untuk meningkatkan potensi diri dalam kesehatan dan ekonomi dilakukan inisiasi ekonomi kreatif melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan produksi minuman probiotik selama 2 hari. Kegiatan partisipasi aktif terdiri dari edukasi dan praktek langsung. Hasil menunjukkan edukasi meningkatkan pemahaman responden mengenai kesehatan produk probiotik dan perhitungan dasar bisnis sebanyak 12 persen. Sebanyak 100% kelompok responden yang terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok berhasil membuat minuman probiotik menggunakan peralatan hibah dari kegiatan ini. Kegiatan ini berpotensi meningkatkan kesehatan dan ekonomi masyarakat penggerak bank sampah. Diperlukan dukungan standarisasi produksi dan pendampingan berkelanjutan oleh para akademisi dan pemerintahan khususnya di wilayah kota Depok.

Abstract

Bonggol nanas (Ananas comosus (L.). Merr) mengandung enzim bromelain dengan kadar tertinggi dibandingkan bagian nanas lainnya. Salah satu fungsi enzim bromelain adalah sebagai antimikroba. Ekstrak bonggol nanas dibuat dalam bentuk nanopartikel dengan menggunakan kitosan kemudian dikeringkan dengan metode freeze drying. Serbuk kering ekstrak ditentukan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Nanopartikel ekstrak kering dilakukan uji ukuran partikel, zeta potensial, dan morfologi partikel. Nanopartikel ekstrak kemudian diformulasikan ke dalam bentuk sediaan gel. Tiap formula dilakukan uji mutu fisik antara lain organoleptik, homogenitas, viskositas dan sifat alir dan uji mutu kimia (pH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nanopartikel ekstrak memiliki ukuran partikel 60,8 nm dan bentuk partikel kering sferis. Ekstrak bonggol nanas memiliki KHM pada konsentrasi 1,25%. Gel formula IV menunjukkan DDH tertinggi yaitu 62,5 mm dan memiliki viskositas dan pH yang stabil. Dengan demikian pembuatan nanopartikel pada ekstrak bonggol nanas dapat meningkatkan aktivitas antimikroba dalam sediaan gel untuk penggunaan secara topikal
