Abstract

Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Wanita Klas II A Bandar Lampung terletak di Desa Way Hui Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Lembaga Pemasyarakatan (Lapas) ini untuk memasyarakatan warga binaan yang belum ataupun sudah divonis bersalah dalam tindakan pidana dan diperuntukan khusus untuk wanita. Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan (WBP) sebagian besar berusia produktif, sehingga perlu mendapatkan perhatian dalam transfer teknologi atau keterampilan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan pemberdayaan WBP dengan pemberian pelatihan pengolahan aneka produk berbasis ikan (abon, bakso, nugget dan bandeng presto) sehingga berdaya untuk berwirausaha setelah kembali kepada masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan melalui pelatihan dan demonstrasi pembuatan produk olahan berbasis ikan serta memberikan stimulan bantuan alat pengolahan ikan. Hasil kegiatan secara keseluruhan menunjukan manfaat dan peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan WBP. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusias dan semangat peserta dalam mengikuti kegiatan. Peserta penyuluhan sudah dapat membuat produk berbagai olahan abon, bakso, dan bandeng presto. Nilai evaluasi pada kegiatan penyuluhan yaitu dari 49,81% menjadi 87,50% atau meningkat sebesar 37,69%. Dengan demikian penyuluhan yang dilakukan diserap dengan cukup baik oleh peserta dan dapat menambah pengetahuan, dan keterampilan.

Abstract

Lobster pasir atau Panulirus homarus merupakan salah satu komoditas laut ekonomis penting di Indonesia karena permintaan yang tinggi dan harga jual yang tinggi. Menurut Kementerian Perikanan dan Kelautan Indonesia, salah satu kendala dalam proses budidaya adalah adanya kanibalisme, sehingga dianggap sebagai salah satu tantangan terpenting dalam budidaya lobster. Pada kegiatan pembesaran Lobster pasir (Panulirus homarus) bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan panjang, bobot, SR, FCR, kualitas air, dan laju pertumbuhan harian lobster pasir dengan sistem shelter melalui pemantauan langsung di lapangan di bak pemeliharaan meliputi monitoring pemeliharaan, pemberian pakan, parameter kualitas air pada bak pemeliharaan, dan pengamatan penyakit yang ditemukan pada lobster. Pertumbuhan panjang selama pemeliharaan mencapai 4.8 cm, pertumbuhan bobot mencapai 54g, dengan tingkat kelangsungan hidup 100%, FCR yang didapat selama masa pemeliharaan sebesar 1,13kg. Nilai rata-rata Kadar Oksigen dalam monitoring Kualitas Air yang didapat pada bak pemeliharaan (DO) 5,41 mg/L, dengan Suhu air rata-rata pada kolam pemeliharaan mencapai 28,4°C, nilai rata-rata salinitas pada bak pemeliharaan bernilai 31%, nilai pH yang terlarut pada bak pemeliharaan dengan rata-rata 7,09% kadar Nitrit pada bak pemeliharaan sebesar 0,089 mg/L, dan kadar Amoniak sebesar 0,0412 mg/L, serta laju pertumbuhan harian sebesar 0,34%.

Abstract

Catfish farming is currently a promising business to pursue. The high market demand for fish provides opportunities for entrepreneurship in the aquaculture sector. The stable fish market makes catfish cultivation particularly attractive. Catfish are easy to grow, which is one of the supporting factors for the progress of catfish farming. In addition, their resistance to weather changes supports rapid development and allows farmers to choose catfish cultivation as the right business opportunity. However, there are still obstacles in catfish rearing, including diseases caused by bacteria, water quality issues, and feed quality problems. Therefore, alternative solutions are needed to overcome these challenges. One such solution is the use of probiotics, as they can optimize fish growth. A common example of probiotics used in aquaculture is EM4. This study aims to determine the best dosage of probiotics to enhance catfish growth and to examine the effect of probiotics on the growth performance of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The research was conducted using an experimental method with four treatments: control (4 ml/kg), P1 (6 ml/kg), P2 (8 ml/kg), and P3 (10 ml/kg).

Abstract

Food security and malnutrition remain global challenges, requiring sustainable food production strategies such as the Blue Transformation concept promoted by FAO. African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is an important aquaculture commodity for fulfilling nutritional needs, containing 19.03% protein, 8.1% fat, and high levels of essential amino acids. However, intensive farming systems often encounter constraints such as high feed conversion, reduced water quality, and suboptimal growth performance. Synbiotics, combining probiotics and natural prebiotics, offer a promising alternative to antibiotic use in aquaculture. In this context, the utilization of locally available banana peel waste as a prebiotic represents an eco-friendly approach that supports resource efficiency within the Blue Transformation framework. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary synbiotics consisting of Lactobacillus casei and banana peel–based prebiotics on the growth performance and feed efficiency of African catfish. Four treatments were applied: a control diet (without synbiotics) and diets supplemented with 1%, 2%, and 3% (v/w) fermented banana peel prebiotics. Observed parameters included Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), feed efficiency, and survival rate. The results indicated that synbiotic supplementation positively influenced growth and feed utilization. The best performance was obtained at the 3% dose, with an SGR of 6.78%, FCR of 1.07, feed efficiency of 93,97%, and survival rate of 84%. These findings suggest that the application of synbiotics at an optimal dose can be practically implemented in intensive African catfish culture to reduce feed costs, improve production efficiency, and support more sustainable aquaculture practices
