Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is effective in reducing depression in adult women. This qualitative research used a case study approach with three adult female respondents. The research data were obtained through observation, interviews, and measuring the level of depression using the BDI-II (Beck Depression Inventory-II) and MCMI-IV (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-IV) measuring instruments. The BDI-II scale score data and the MCMI-IV scale before and after the intervention were then compared. The results of the analysis of this study showed that CBT can reduce the level of depression and that is indicated by a decrease in the score from indicated severe to not indicated in clinical syndrome of persistant depression and major depression on the MCMI-IV scale. Measurements using the BDI-II scale also showed a change in the level of depression from major depression to minimal depression. The measurement results of these two tests were also confirmed by changes in mood, cognitive function and behavior.

Abstract

This article describes the concept of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy in building Self- Esteem for slow learner children. The REBT concept helps clients learn to challenge irrational thinking and develop thinking habits in practical and rational ways. This shift allows the individual to have a more effectively and ultimately experience healthy emotions. Descriptive research including library research using comparative studies of systems or concepts. The concept used is the A-B-C-D-E-G model in building the Self Esteem of slow learner children. The stages of self-esteem formation with the concept of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy change individual cognitive processes in the form of perception, meaning, judgment, and it plays an essential role in the development and maintaining emotions and behavioral responses. It reduces dissatisfaction with body image and unconditional self-acceptance; accepted beliefs or not being accepted is not something to regret because it is not terrible.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine whether or not there is a difference in self-confidence between the zoning path student group and the achievement path student groups at SMPN 25 Kota Malang. This research uses a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The population of this research is 122 students with 95 samples. The hypothesis test used in this research is the Independent-Sample T Test. From the results of the hypothesis test, it states that the significance value (Sig.) is 0,288 > 0.05, it means that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. Based on the hypothesis test that has been conducted by the researcher, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the zoning path student group and the achievement path student group. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan kepercayaan diri antara kelompok siswa jalur zonasi dan kelompok siswa jalur prestasi SMPN 25 Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif. Populasi dari penelitian adalah 122 siswa dengan sampel 94 responden. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Independent-Sample T Test. Dari hasil uji hipotesis tersebut menyatakan bahwa nilai signifikansinya (Sig.) adalah 0,288 > 0,05 yang artinya bahwa H0 diterima dan Ha ditolak. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis yang telah dilakukan peneliti dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa jalur zonasi dengan kelompok siswa jalur prestasi.

Abstract

The increasing use of ICT and the tendency for media multitasking among students have raised concerns about their negative impact on attention and the challenges they pose to regulation strategies. This study aimed to adapt and validate the Indonesian version of the Online Learning Motivated Attention and Regulatory Strategies (OL-MARS v.2) scale among undergraduate university students. The OL-MARS v.2 is a 24-item scale measuring two main constructs: perceived attention problems (PAP) and self-regulatory strategies (SRS). PAP includes three subscales: perceived attention discontinuity (PAD), lingering thoughts (LT), and social media notifications (SMN), while SRS comprises behavioral strategies (BS) and outcome appraisal (OA). The scale was administered to 1,360 undergraduate students at a private university in Indonesia. Alpha coefficients for the total scores ranged from 0.463 to 0.800, indicating overall good to acceptable reliability, although the LT subscale showed the lowest alpha (0.463), which was acceptable but not ideal. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed to evaluate the model fit. The OL-MARS v.2 shows potential as a valuable tool for assessing students' attention states and self-regulation strategies in online learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy, self-esteem and academic procrastination. To achieve these goals, used a correlational study design. The population used in the study are students of Junior High School in Malang, the sample totaled 393 students obtained through a multistage random sampling method of sampling. To measure academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy, self-esteem and academic procrastination, use a scale of academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy scale, the scale of self-esteem and academic procrastination scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that each variable that academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy and self-esteem negatively related to academic procrastination and together these three variables affect the academic procrastination.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics and metacognition of high school counselors. The type of research used is descriptive with a survey method. The research subjects were 166 school counselors. The research results show that the counseling process has not fully implemented metacognition-based counseling skills. This indicates that in implementing counseling, counselors have not taken into account the effectiveness of intrapersonal skills as an integrated skill within the counselor.

Abstract

The mass media which contain of erotic impression can stimulate teenagers who want to know everything about sexual and want to imitate what they hear and look from mass media as a part of learning process.The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the erotical exposure on pornmedia to the sexual behaviour of students. The research design is descriptive correlational on subjects totalling 87 people. The instruments used is the scale of the erotical exposure and sexual behaviour scale which contain 46 items on each scale. Trials carried out to 40 people with the validity 0,312 and reliability 0,947 and 0,953. The result of research shows the correlation of rxy = 0,212, p = 0,049 < 0,05 it means that there is a correlation between the erotical exposure on pornomedia with student’s sexual behaviour.

Abstract

The person-centered counseling approach has evolved in applications ranging from nondirective, client-centered, and student-centered to people-centered approaches. This paper describes the application of person-centered counseling in guidance and counseling services. The research method used a literature study. The results of the study and analysis were synthesized using a narrative method by grouping information or data according to the objectives of the study. The results showed that in order to truly achieve effective results from the implementation of person-centered counseling, the main attitudes the counselor needs to have are conformity, unconditional positive understanding, and understanding of empathy. The results of the study can also be discussed topics in group guidance services, individual counseling, and group counseling.
