Abstract

Academic achievement is starting point for the students to succeed in learning. There are two factors that contribute to succeed of the students’ academic achievement such as achievement motivation and academic self-concept, both factors are non-cognitive factor that affect on students' academic achievement. This research aimed to examine the effect of achievement motivation and academic self-concept on academic achievement of students of all the Junior High School in Malang city. Path analysis method been used to analyze the data that been collected from 393 samples. Result of the research shown that there were positive and significant directly and indirectly influenced between academic self-concept and achievement motivation on academic achievement.Prestasi akademik merupakan tolak ukur keberhasilan siswa dalam belajar. Terdapat dua faktor yang berkontribusi dalam keberhasilan siswa mencapai prestasi akademik, yaitu motivasi berprestasi dan konsep diri akademik, keduanya merupakan faktor non-kognitif yang berpengaruh terhadap prestasi akademik siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh motivasi berprestasi dan konsep diri akademik terhadap prestasi akademik siswa SMPN se-Kota Malang. Metode analisis jalur digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan dari 393 sampel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan secara langsung dan tidak langsung antara konsep diri akademik dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi akademik.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce guidance products that have acceptance criteria. The type of research used is development using the research design of Borg and Gall. The stages used in this research are information gathering, planning, initial field testing, developing the initial product format, product revision, main field testing, and product revision or refining the main field test results. The data obtained in the form of quantitative data with the gregory model interrater agreement. The subjects in the field test consisted of two BK experts, two media experts, and two potential product users. The assessment conducted by the expert refers to the criteria for product acceptance which includes aspects of accuracy, aspects of usability, and aspects of eligibility. Based on the results of the field test the assessment results obtained from BK experts have a validity index of 0.73 which is categorized as "high", the assessment of media experts is 1.00 which is categorized as "very high", and from potential users that is 1.00 which is categorized as "very high ", so it can be concluded that the guidelines developed meet the product acceptance criteria.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan produk panduan yang memiliki kriteria keberterimaan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengembangan menggunakan rancangan penelitian Borg and Gall. Tahapan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengumpulan informasi, perencanaan, uji lapangan awal, pengembangan format produk awal, revisi produk, uji lapangan utama, dan revisi produk atau penyempurnaan produk hasil uji lapangan utama. Data yang diperoleh berupa data kuantitatif dengan interrater agreement model gregory. Subjek dalam uji lapangan terdiri dari dua ahli BK, dua ahli media, dan dua calon pengguna produk. Penilaian yang dilakukan ahli mengacu pada krtiteria keberterimaan produk yang mencakup aspek ketepatan, aspek kegunaan, dan aspek kelayakan. Berdasarkan hasil uji lapangan diperoleh hasil penilaian dari ahli BK memiliki indeks validitas sebesar 0,73 yang dikategorikan “tinggi”, penilaian dari ahli media yaitu 1,00 yang dikategorikan “sangat tinggi”, dan dari calon pengguna yaitu 1,00 yang dikategorikan “sangat tinggi” sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa panduan yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria keberterimaan produk.

Abstract

Cognitive Restructuring Techniques to Reduce School Strikes in Middle School Students. This study aims to observe cognitive restructuring techniques in reducing junior high school strike students. This study uses an experimental method through six stages using a single subject design with A-B-A design. The baseline phase (A) was carried out for three sessions, the intervention phase (B) was carried out for six sessions, and the baseline phase (A ') was carried out for three sessions. The results showed that in the baseline phase (A) each subject was still in the same condition, the intervention phase (B) of each subject was in a stable condition, and the baseline phase (A ') of each subject had shown difference. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a difference from before being given an intervention to after being given an intervention using cognitive restructuring techniques to reduce school strikes of junior high school students with the category of reducing the level of school strike each subject is different.Keywords: Cognitive Restructuring Techniques, Strike, School

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mind-mapping to enhance high school’s student career exploration in guidance group setting. This study use a single subject design with multiple baseline across subject models. The subjects of this study are eight (8) high school students in 10th grade. The data collection instruments in this study are the recording frequency of career exploration (sub components narrowing choices, specifies a vocational choice, and deciding an action implementation), career exploration skill instruments, and treatment instruments in the form of career guidance group guidebooks. The results shows that mind-mapping can be implemented to enhance the students career exploration skill, that is the all subjects’ first sub component exploration skills (narrowing choices) in group data shows average baseline 13.27 increased to 30.86; the second sub component (specifies a vocational choice) shows average baseline 9.67 increased to 22.18; and the third sub component (deciding an action implementation) shows average baseline 13.42 increased to 20.26. The results affirm that the use of mind-mapping is effective to enhance the exploration skills of high school students.

Abstract

Students with Special Needs Cerebral Palsy are individuals who take higher education but experience deviation in motor function, especially movement of muscles and have obstacles in the development of motion, causing limited activity. The purpose of this study was to increase the self-confidence of students with special needs Celebral Palsy through Person Centered Therapy counseling. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study method. The subject of this research is students with special needs Celebral Palsy with the initials "P" who are 19 years old and have low self-confidence. While the research data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were Pattern Matching, Explanation, and Time Series Analysis. The result of this study was that “P” students had wrong perceptions about friends, lecturers and the environment because of their physical conditions. The impact is that “P” students feel anxious and depressed so they hesitate to express their opinions when doing activities both on campus and outside campus, are easily discouraged, are awkward in acting, are afraid of presenting in front of the class, and are afraid to ask or answer questions.

Abstract

Online learning presents a major challenge for the world of education. One of the impacts that can be felt in learning from is the unpreparedness of the education system and stakeholders (teachers and students). The rapid change from face-to-face learning activities to online / online-based learning is a reality that inevitably must be faced. The unpreparedness of students in responding to changes related to online learning presents its own problems in the world of education. In online learning, students are given flexibility in designing their learning activities. The ability of students to be able to respond adaptively to difficulties encountered during online learning is called academic resilience. Academic resilience is one of the determining factors for the learning success of students. Therefore, it is important to realize that in this new normal era, counselors need to help students to improve their academic resilience through short solutions focused counseling services (Solution Focus Brief Counseling / SFBC). Solution Focus Brief Counseling (SFBC) is an alternative counseling service that counselors can choose to help students improve their academic resilience skills. The results showed that the SFBC approach was quite effective in helping students improve their resilience abilities. The SFBC approach is effective in helping students solve their problems because this approach in the process emphasizes more on the focus of the solution, not the problem. So that the counselee can be faster in finding a solution to the problem.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the effectiveness of modification of counseling strategies to reduce anxiety of pencak silat athletes against championship. The subjects in this study were pencak silat athletes. Pencak silat was chosen because this sport requires local culture in various aspects of life, namely wirasa, wiraga, and wirama. These three aspects develop and are applied to their behavior, feelings, and cognitive patterns. This study used a pretest-posttest kontrol design. The treatment given to the experimental group was a modification of the relaxation strategy. There were 10 research subjects in each group with random group determination. The pre-test mean of the experimental group was 74.70 and 78.20 in the kontrol group. Meanwhile, the mean post ice in the experimental group was 50.60 and 60.60 in the kontrol group. The data analysis technique used is the T-test. The results of the analysis of this study showed that the group that received a modification of the relaxation strategy with cultural elements had decreased anxiety levels more than the kontrol group. Culture influences the client's thinking, feeling, and behavior patterns. It’s mean that combining cultural elements with counseling strategies can effectively reduce athletic anxiety against championships.

Abstract

Traumatic events are not impossible things in every human life. However, everyone has different coping in dealing with these situations. For some people who experience traumatic events and are unable to cope with the anxiety that arises, they will experience Post Traumatic Stress Desorder (PTSD). The effects of PTSD range from anxiety, insomnia, being unable to forget events, nightmares, and even suicide. This study aims to review counseling that can overcome PTSD problems, namely Eye Movement Desentization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This study uses a recent literature review of several articles on EMDR. Based on the review of the articles conducted, there are several important points, namely (1) the concept of EMDR in the application to overcome PTSD and (2) what are the implications of EMDR for overcoming PTSD. EMDR is one technique that is considered effective in overcoming PTSD problems. Concepts and procedures are discussed.

Abstract

Violence in children is an action taken by the caregiver or parent in physical or verbal forms that can endanger the child's health, survival, dignity and development of the child and one of them is psychosocial development. The child's psychosocial development will be disrupted if the caregiver or parent is wrong in educating the child, so that the child withdraws, has difficulty concentrating, likes to interfere, and shows behavior that is not appropriate to his age stage. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical and verbal abuse of parents and the psychosocial development of school age children. This quantitative study used a cross sectional approach with a descriptive correlational design. The study population was school-age children living in Kendal City. The sample consisted of 55 respondents. The data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 3 statements, namely 8 statements of physical violence, 8 statements of verbal violence and 16 statements of psychosocial development. The validity test was carried out on 30 respondents with r count> 0.361. Reliability test results obtained Cronbach alpha 0.917.Statistical test using the chi square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the physical and verbal abuse of parents and the psychosocial development of school age children with a value of p = 0.000 (p value <0.05).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is effective in reducing depression in adult women. This qualitative research used a case study approach with three adult female respondents. The research data were obtained through observation, interviews, and measuring the level of depression using the BDI-II (Beck Depression Inventory-II) and MCMI-IV (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-IV) measuring instruments. The BDI-II scale score data and the MCMI-IV scale before and after the intervention were then compared. The results of the analysis of this study showed that CBT can reduce the level of depression and that is indicated by a decrease in the score from indicated severe to not indicated in clinical syndrome of persistant depression and major depression on the MCMI-IV scale. Measurements using the BDI-II scale also showed a change in the level of depression from major depression to minimal depression. The measurement results of these two tests were also confirmed by changes in mood, cognitive function and behavior.
