Abstract

Problem in this paper is the problem of official correspondence to the staff of the Library Archives and Documentation Tanah Datar. The purpose of this paper to explain the first, official correspondence causes problems for the staff of the Library Archives and Documentation Tanah Datar and second, knowing the constraints and corresponding implementation efforts in the Office of Library Archives and DocumentationTanahDatar. Paper data collection techniques used are direct observation (observation) observations are used to determine the circumstances that occurred in the institution and interviews with the staff of the Library Archives and Documentation Tanah Datar used to determine employed work processes, as well as an interview with the head of the library section as well as some other staff to complete the data of scientific writing. Based on the analysis of factors can cause problems for employes correspondence Library Archives and Documentation Office of Tanah Datar is the importance of the correspondence to the individual as a means of communication, the organization as a means of employment and facilitate communication among employees and other agencies. Greatly impact the lack of training in an agency employee skills and discipline employees who make less than the employee's performance declined. The lack of wisdom of the leadership led to discipline difficult to apply to the employee. Constraints faced by the Office of Records and Documentation Tanah Datar in conducting correspondence are: first, the things that must be considered in the correspondence in the making of both the institution and outside the institution. Second,a common phenomenon in the world of correspondence. Third, knowledge is still lacking correspondence obtained by the employee due to lack of training and information. Fourth, the errors in correspondence practice is an employee who made a mistake letter to leaders and letters to other agencies. Abstract

Abstract

This paper purpose to describe of making an annotated bibliography of Islamic books collection in the library and archives official of Sungai Penuh City Jambi Province to make it easier to find the Information neded one day later. The mathad used in writing this paper is descriptive mathad. With data collection tecniqver through disect oservation and interviews. Stages in creating annotated bibliography are: (1) the determination title of the book is done with consideration of the avai lability of religious book collection which is still in a good codition; (2) collection of library materials by recording bibliographic data; (3) selection of library materials is done by separating books with religious subjects and books that are not with religious subjects; (4) grauping or clarificat ion; (5) keyword creation is done describing a subject matter; (6) Indexing based on author index, title index, and keyword index; (7) typing bibliographic texts; (8) the final bibliographic manuscript examination can be done by checking.Keyword:annotated bibliography; religious book of Islam

Abstract

The purpose of this research were to (1) describe the factors that led to the lack of visits a librarian at DPRD’s library of Province Sumatera Barat, (2) explain how to exact used strategy in the use of libraries as a means of information provider at DPRD’s library of Province Sumatera Barat. Data were collected through observation and interviews with librarian at DPRD’s library of Province Sumatera Barat. Analysis data was collected used description. In this study have two factors that are led to the lack of the advantages of library and the strategy that usefull for solve the problem at DPRD’s library of province of Sumatera Barat. The suggestion that can be delivered in this articles are, (1) the library of DPRD Province of Sumatera Barat must be think about the strategy or the way to increase the advantages of the library for librarian, (2) wish that librarian can be creative to increase the library function, (3) for staff it can give more attantion for library. Abstract

The purposes of this article are to describe: (1) the effectiveness of the implementation storytelling library materials for early childhood in the Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi; (2) the obstacles in the implementation of the effectiveness of storytelling activities of library materials for early childhood and how efforts to overcome these obstacles. Data were collected through observation in the Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi and interviews with one person librarian Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi and five early childhood. Analyzing data descriptively. Based on the data analysis and interviews, can be summarized as follows. First, the implementation of storytelling in the Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi an effective activity to increase the number of early childhood visits to the library from 25 people to 35 people and indirectly foster interest in reading to young children. Second, constraints in these storytelling activities carried out in the form of the small number of early childhood visits to the library and the lack of an invitation from parents to their children to the library makes the library's storytelling activities, as well as the efforts made by the Library of Bung Hatta Bukittinggi to overcome these obstacles be prepared all that makes this storytelling activities run with the maximum because the library has supplied children's reading room in which there are books, magazines, and other collections specifically for early childhood and made a number of visits early childhood become more increase from the previous activity executed storytelling, storytelling activities thus bringing the total number of early childhood visits to the library to be more effective. Keywords : effectiveness, storytelling, early childhood

Abstract

The aims of this study was to describe about how to make a database archive in order to help the employers of Seksi Pemberitaan in LPP RRI Bukittinggi in finding news archive immediately, quickly, and accurately. Besides, it can helps to safe storage. The instrument of this study is qualitative research. The technique of data collection is direct observation method to seksi Pemberitaan in the LPP RRI Bukittinggi. In addition, the technique of data collection is interview method to head seksi pemberitaan and newscaster of LPP RRI Bukittinggi. This study uses daily news. Based on discussion above, it can be concluded that making database as a tool to find archive quickly in Seksi Pemberitaaan LPP RRI Bukittinggi by using Microsoft Access 2010 based on table. The table consists of field, query, form, and report. The query is a table to change data. The table form is a form table that used to find a data. The table report as final result of this study in making database archive. The switchboard are able to help the user to give direction to find database archive. Keyword: Database, electronic archives

Abstract

In this paper discussed about evaluation of reference services in Archive Library Office and Documentation Kerinci District Jambi Province. Purpose of writing this paper is: (1) describe input management of reference services; (2) describe output management of reference services; (3) describe outcome management of reference. Type of research evaluation of reference services which is conducted in this paper with using the method descriptive qualitative that is data obtained from observasion and live interview with librarian and reference services user. Based on research concluded things as follow: first, input management of reference services consists of: (1) evaluation reference service not yet routine, so still there are deficiencies in service, like lack of evaluation againts performace librarian and reference collection not complete. (2) libararian in management of reference less understand the desire and less helpful the reader in information research. second, ouput management reference service seen from the role of the librarian has not clearly visible function as mentor in finding information as well give instructions between information in reference source. Third, outcome management reference service has not shown yet the impression of satisfaction, so the progress of increasing knowledge in the utilization of information and its impact on information upgrades does not exist.Keywords: evaluation, services and references.

Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, we discuss the implementation of knowledge management in the Alifah Padang STIKes Library. The writing of this paper aims to describe: (1) the application of technology in the Alifah Padang STIKes Library; (2) cultural changes that occur in the Alifah Padang STIKes Library; (3) knowledge sharing activities in the Alifah Padang STIKes Library; (4) knowledge management socialization at Alifah Padang STIKes Library. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, which is collecting data by observing and interviewing 5 visitors and 1 librarian at the Alifah Padang STIKes Library. Based on the analysis of the data described earlier, it can be concluded the following matters. First, the application of information technology in the Alifah STIKes Library is applied to the field of information processing activities using the SIMPUS application and information retrieval fields by utilizing online catalogs. Second, the cultural changes that occurred in the STIKes Library were seen from the changes in the organizational structure of the Alifah STIKes Library, which was based on the level of human resources and expertise in managing the library. Second, the cultural changes that occurred in the STIKes Library were seen from the changes in the organizational structure of the Alifah STIKes Library, which was based on the level of human resources and expertise in managing the library. Fourth, Knowledge management socialization in the Alifah STIKes Library in terms of the socialization of the results of the meeting which was decided by the Chairperson of Alifah STIKes based on mutual agreement of the meeting members, by delivering the results of the meetings conducted hierarchically through superiors to subordinates in an oral and written form thoroughly.Keywords: knowledge management; implementation; library

Abstract

Abstract This paper discusses the information needs of students at SMP Negeri 1 Kota Padang through internet sources. the writing of this paper aims to describe: (1) the individual (personal) information needs of students of SMPN 1 Kota Padang; (2) information needs related to the role of students of SMPN 1 Kota Padang; (3) information needs related to the environment of students of SMPN 1 Padang City. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, which is collecting data by observing and interviewing 12 students. Based on the results of research and discussion of data about the information needs of students of SMPN 1 Padang through internet sources, it can be concluded that: the information needs of students of SMPN1 Padang through internet sources, namely: First, individual (personal) information needs, through the internet students can search light reading information (magazines, fiction works such as short stories, novels), health, travel, culinary, skills. These needs are used to break away from fatigue everyday. Secondly, information needs related to roles, through the internet students can meet information needs to complete school work, meet information needs about self-development, and information needs about life motivation, ideals. These are related to their social roles as students. Third, the need to find out the latest conditions and situations regarding the surrounding environment (local) cultural conditions, physical / natural conditions and the place of residence they live in, especially Padang City. This is because in their individuals there are social needs (social needs) that must be met.Keywords: information needs; students; internet sources

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine (1) the profile of the graduate, (2) the absorption of graduate in the world of work, (3) the use of knowledge gained by the graduate in the work, (4) the assessment of stakeholders on the ability of graduate. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Data collection uses research instruments. The population in this study was Graduate from the major of Information, Library, and Archives of Padang State University (PS IPK UNP). The sample in this study amounted to 105 graduates who returned the instrument. The results showed, First, the profile of Graduate PS IPK UNP was dominated by female graduates. Most of the graduates are graduates who graduated in 2018. Judging from the length of the study period, the average graduate has a length of the study period of 3 years. Second, the absorption of graduates in the workforce is quite high, with most graduates stating that they are currently working with the time needed to get the job <3 months. Third, the use of knowledge obtained by a graduate at the PS IPK UNP in employment is very high. The science that has a very high level of wear is fieldwork learning, technology mastery skills, and the ability to cooperate in teams. Fourth, the assessment of graduate users (stakeholders) on the ability to graduate in the work world has also been good. The ability of the graduate to be considered good by graduate users (stakeholders) is integrity, expertise based on the fields of science, mastery of information technology, and teamwork.Keywords: Information retrieval, graduate, tracer study
