Abstract

The  purposes of this study were to: (1) describe a collection of annotated bibliography creation Minangkabau in Minangkabau Cultural Information Documentation Centre (PDIKM) Padang Panjang, (2) explain the constraints faced in making an annotated bibliography. Writing this paper uses descriptive research method. Stage of making a bibliography is: (1) determination of the title bibliography, (2) the collection of books, (3) the selection of library materials, (4) grouping or classification, (5) keyword generation, (6) preparation of the index, (7) the manufacture or manuscript typing bibliographies, (8) examination of the final manuscript. In making this bibliography, there are several constraints such as: (1) language books in Dutch, so it is difficult to understand the contents of the book, (2) there is a collection of old collection, so no information is lost because the writing was already fading. Abstract

This study aimed to describe: (1) the factors that cause unauthorized borrowing of library materials by users in the Kantor Arsip, Perpustakaan dan Dokumentasi Kota Padang (2) prevention efforts being made to overcome the unauthorized borrowing of library materials by users in the Kantor Arsip, Perpustakaan dan Dokumentasi Kota Padang. The data were collected by means of observation and interviews with librarians. Analyzing data descriptively. First, the unauthorized borrowing (unauthorized borrowing) library materials by users in the Kantor Arsip, Perpustakaan dan Dokumentasi Kota Padang include ease of access that frees users to misuse the collection, the collection of interest such as fiction and novels are widely abused, age of users is still unstable often destructive acts, opening hours are too long operations, the absence of photocopy services, lack of safety, design of buildings and the library that are not optimal in meeting such requirements and convenience of the location, the lack of specialized training for librarians in crime prevention and regulatory library. Second, prevention efforts being made to overcome the unauthorized borrowing of library materials by users, by improving services, facilities, security systems such as the implementation of electronic security systems such as alarm sensors and CCTV. Conduct training for librarians and increase user awareness socialization to keep collections through user education. Keywords: unauthorized borrowing; library materials

Abstract

In this paper discussed about Making an encyclopedia of cultural heritage in the town of Sawahlunto. The purpose of this paper is to describe the process of creating the encyclopedia of cultural heritage in the West Sumatra town of Sawahlunto. The research methods used in this thesis paper writing is to use descriptive research methods and techniques of data collection was done through direct observation and interviews as well as libraries that use reading materials that are considered important.On the basis of discussion can be concluded stage of creation of Encyclopedia of cultural heritage in the town of Sawahlunto are as follows. First, the collection of data, conducted interviews with staff and observations related directly to the place of cultural heritage. Second, content design encyclopedia, before making a product, the author makes the draft form of the inside of the product that will be described in the form of a chart. Lastly, the manufacture of a product, based on the contents of the draft heritage encyclopedia, then the last step is the process of creating the encyclopedia of cultural heritage in the town of Sawahlunto West Sumatra Province as follows: (1) preface contains  a couple of paragraphs that contain author credits to God Almighty, to parties who have been helping and giving support, the basis and purpose of prototype encyclopedias, hope, and accompanied with a , month, and year of the book made by the author. (2) the table of  contents to find out what cultural heritage objects contained in the encyclopedia. (3) the content of the subject matter the book contains articles about cultural heritage objects that exist on the encyclopedia. (4) the index of the book is a list of important words or terms are arranged alphabetically in the backyard. (5) the front cover (cover) is a skin on the outside of the book that contains the title of the book, and is accompanied by some supporters of the image.Keywords: cultural, encyclopedia, heritage.

Abstract

Abstract This article is about making directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau. The purpose of this article are: (1) to describe making directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau, and (2) to describe obstacle and solution of making directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau. This article use descriptive method with observation, interview, and read the literature. Base on result of making directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau, the conclution is. First, making the directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau the steps are: (a) collecting the data about the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau; (b) arrange the data base on alphabet; (c) typing the data with Microsoft Publisher; and (d) designing the cover of directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau. Second, the obstacle in making directory of the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau are: (a) the lack of knowledge about the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau; (b) the difficult thing when collected the data about the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau; (c) the difficult thing when designed layout of directory the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau. Solution of this problem are: (a) collected the data from some literature and  to the institute that has data about the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau; (b) direct observation about data to get information about the musical instrument traditional Minangkabau; and (c) designed the layout with simple and not use more colour.Keywords: directory, instrument traditional, Minangkabau

Abstract

This paper focuses on the storage system records in Padang Language Center Archive Center. This study aims to reveal: (1) describe the records storage system suitable for Language Center Archive Center Padang. (2) identify any obstacles encountered. Data were collected through observation and interviews and data collection done deskriktif. Based on data analysis, concluded the following. First, archival storage systems in the Central Hall of Records Padang language is not in accordance with the existing procedures, the storage system is applied only on the incoming and outgoing mail. Second, the constraints faced by the Language Center are: (1) archival storage system that is incompatible with the existing theory and archives stored procedures wrong. Records received by agencies tend not to perform routine inspections and record-keeping, so the archives are not known to exist. (2) archival storage procedures are not appropriate, resulting in kesimpang crux of the existence of archives, archival storage procedures should be in accordance with proper storage procedures in accordance with the theory. (3) the lack of facilities and infrastructure used, the efforts made by the Language Center to overcome that last save point menyedikan decent archives like folders, guide, filling cabinet. Abstract

Writing this article aims to describe (1) the implementation of the code of ethica librarian at the Librarian of the University of Padang; (2) the obstacles ancounteredin the implementation of the code of ethics oflibrarians and describe the efforts made to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of the code of ethics of librarians. Data collected by observation and interview with the librarian at the Library of the State University of Padang. Data analisis was done descriptively, it can be concluded that (1) Librarian Padang State University has been applying the basic attitude of librarians with the users, the relationship between librarians, community relations. But not all librarians are able to apply the code of conduct in the workplace, there are still many librarians who only know the code of ethics of librarians without applying the code of ethics of librarians; (2) in moking application of the Code Librarian at the Library of the University of Padang still has many obstacles, obstacles encounteredis the lack of know ledge of librarians about the basic attitude of librarians and do not know the code of ethics as a librarian professionals, lack of talent librarians to communicate and get along, so librarian hostility in serving meanwhile, efforts to be made by librarians terkain this obstacle is not maximized. Keywords: Implementation, code ethics

Abstract

Indicative abstract creation aims to: (1) conduct an indicative abstract creation for collection thesis students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education in 2010-2012. (2) Describe the constraints faced in making an indicative abstract. The manufacturing activity is indicative abstract first, define a collection of thesis students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education who will be creating the thesis, noting the required information, read carefully and understand the contents of the paper and then created after understanding the abstract. Abstract

In this article, the composition of newspaper index at the Library of the Post Graduate Program (PPs) of State University of Padang (UNP) is discussed. This study aims to reveal how to compose the newspaper index. The index creation was accomplished using the Ms-Excel and MS-Word. Data was collected through observation at the Library of PPs UNP. The data was obtained from The Newspaper Clipping of the Library of PPs UNP in 2002 and 2003 as many as 290 articles. The data was in the form of newspaper articles bibliographical data of Kompas, Singgalang, Republika, Media Indonesia, Harian Haluan, and Ganto. The recorded bibliographical data items were the title, name of newspaper, the day of issue, the date of issue, and page. Since the subject of the whole article is educational, the entries of the index were classified by using the third summary of class 370 (education) of DDC. The entries were sorted by the subjects and the titles. The keyword index taken from the words in the article’s title was included in the index.Keywords: newspaper; index; Ms. Word

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is: 1) to describe how the spatial planning in the Office of Libraries, Archives and Documentation of Padang Panjang; 2) to describe the obstacles encountered in the Office of the Spatial Archive and Documentation Library Archives Town Padang Panjang in an archive lay out; 3) to describe what efforts have been made Office of Library Archives and Documentation of Padang length in spatial archives. The data source of this study is that oral sources told directly by informants as the original speakers. Abstract

 Abstract  The writing of this paper aims to: (1), describe an annotated bibliography of internal medicine subject books for a collection of textbooks at the Andalas University Medical School Library. (2), explain the constraints and efforts faced in preparing an annotated bibliography of internal medicine subjects in the Library of the Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University. The research method used is descriptive method, which is collecting data directly from the source. Data was collected through direct observation at the Andalas University Medical School, the number of books contained in the library subjected to internal diseases as many as 52 book titles. classifying the collection of internal medicine subjects, typing book annotations, typing the name of the author, year of publication, title of the book, and typing the index of keywords and finally compiled sequentially according to the modern language association (MLA) format which can describe quotes more fully and accurately with all sources research printed for example books. The results obtained in the bibliographic preparation stage are First, the determination of the title of the book is done by the availability of clothing collections by visitors. Second, Collection of library materials by searching directly and collecting books one by one. Third, the selection of library materials is done by separating the internal subject books with the surgical subject book. Fourth, grouping library material is done so that it collects with the same subject book by using sequence number numeral notation. Fifth, Making keywords is done by taking words from the title or content in a striking book. Sixth, Index Compilation aims to facilitate the search for information needed. Seventh, Typing a bibliographic text is done in the format of the Modern Language Association (MLA). Eighth, Examination of the final bibliographic text aims to see whether the writing is correct or not.Keywords: bibliography, annotations, internal diseases
