Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to develop the student’s activity sheet on reaction rate subject. This research was a reseach and development (R & D) with the 4-D model that comprise of Definition, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. It was only to developed phase and limited tryout. The research was located in FKIP Riau University. The students’ activity sheet were used as research objects based on discovery learning. The research was analyzed by descriptive statistic, that calculated by percentage of validation value. The average of four aspects of student’s activity sheet by validator’s team, such as properness of the content, languages, course and graphical were 90,50%,, 86,67%, 89,50%, and 93,75%, respectively. So, the average totality of student’s activity sheet based on the discovery learning was 90,37% that means valid criteria, the LKPD Developed was proper to use. In addition, the percentage of students response on LKPD was 90% with very good criteria.Keywords: Student Activity Sheet, Discovery Learning, and Reaction Rate.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to increase students achievement implementation of peer led guided inquiry (PLGI) on subject equilibrium solubility in XI MIA SMAN 3 Pekanbaru. The type of this research is experimental research with randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Subject of this research are XI MIA 4 as the experimental class, XI MIA 5 as the control class which were determined randomly after conducting normality and homogeneity test. The experimental group was treated with implementation of peer led guided inquiry (PLGI) while the control group without implementation of peer led guided inquiry (PLGI). The data analysis to test the hypothesis was using t-test right side. Based on the data analysis, it is obtaine tcount = 4,99 and ttable = 1,67 with α=0,05, dk = 57, tcount > ttable is 4,99 > 1,67, It’s mean implementation of peer led guided inquiry (PLGI) can improve students achievement on the subject equilibrium solibility in XI MIA SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru. The influence implementation learning model peer led guided inquiry (PLGI) to improvement of the student achievement as high as 30,4%.Keywords: Peer Led Guided Inquiry (PLGI), Learning Achievement

Abstract

Education in the 21st century requires students and teachers to master various skills including critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is an aspect that has been researched in recent years with the aim of seeing the thinking skills and cognitive abilities of teachers and students. Therefore this study aims to analyze students critical thinking in answering questions about chemical bonding topic. The sample of this study was 171 high school students in Pekanbaru. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 by looking at the frequency of students in answering questions and elaborating on the answers. The results of the study showed that students were still at a low critical thinking stage based on the frequency of students in explaining and answering the questions given. Based on the results of this study was expected to provided information for teachers to be able to improve cognitive thinking and critical thinking of students and develop a variety of critical thinking questions so that students have a lot of experience in describing problems and understand well the concept of chemical topics.

Abstract

Abstract: Evaluation is one of the component parts that holds a very important role in learning system. One evaluation conducted is evaluation of students learning result. This study aims to determine the quality of the best items semester chemical subject exam. The object in this study is the second semester exam which amount 40 questions and the answer sheet of the students at class XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Tapung Academic Year 2016/2017 as many as 71 students. This research is an ex post facto, meaning that the researcher didn’t manipulate the symptoms of research and the symptoms were already present in the real condition. Analysis in this research is qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis (the difficulty degree, the differentiator, distractor function, validity and reliability). According to the analysis, known that from 40 questions, there are 30 questions acceptable of the matter criteria, 32 questions acceptable of the construction criteria, and 25 questions acceptable of the language/culture criteria. While in terms of this test having poor quantitative quality shown by the difficulty degree was good, the differentiator was not good, distractor function was not function effectively, the validity was enough and the reliability was low. From the quantitative analysis is 33 questions was repaired and 7 questions was rejected. Semester exam questions of class XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Tapung needs a lot of improvement both in terms qualitative or quantitative.Keywords: analysis, qualitative, quantitative, distractor, validity, reliability.

Abstract

Abstract: Research on the application of the Structured Numbered Heads learning model was done to improve students learning achievement in the topics of the atomic structure and the periodic system of elements in class X MIA SMAN 5 Pekanbaru. This research was experiment based on pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of two classes, which are X MIA 4 as experiment class and X MIA 3 as control clas that randomly selected after testing normality and homogeneity. Experiment class was a class treated by applying the Structured Numbered Heads learning model. Analyzed of data used t-test. Results of the analysis it was found that tscore>ttable (3,58>1,67), it means the Structured Numbered Heads learning model can improve students learning achievement on the structure of atoms and the periodic system of elements in class X MIA SMAN 5 Pekanbaru with an increase of 14,14%.Key Words: Research on the application of the Structured Numbered Heads learning model,Learning achievement

Abstract

Abstrak: This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning achievement and the influence of firing line active learning strategies on the subject matter of Buffer Solutions in class XI of SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The form of this study is an experimental study using the Pretest-Posttest Design Randomized Control Group. The study sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 2 as the control class which had tested normality using the Liliefors test and tested homogeneity using two average similarity tests. The research hypothesis was tested using the right-t-test. The results showed that the application of active learning strategies for firing squad formation could improve student learning achievement on the subject of Buffer Solution with tcount = 3.78> table = 1.67 and the magnitude of the effect of increasing student achievement was categorized based on the N-Gain value of 0.75 which is included in the high category. It can be concluded that the application of active learning strategies for firing squad formation can improve students' learning achievement on the subject matter of buffer solution of class XI SMAN 10 Pekanbaru with the effect of an increase of 0.75.Key Words: Strategy for Shooting Squad (Firing Line), Learning Achievement, Buffer Solution.

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to increase student learning achievement on the topic of hidrocarbon in class X Senior High School Negeri (SMAN) 10 Pekanbaru. The research is a kind of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were the students of class X 5 as the experimental class and students of class X 8 as the control class. Experimental class is a class that is applied to learning model cooperative exchanged couples type while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is the t-test and Kp test. Based on data analysis of data obtained tcount > ttable is 1,70>1.66, means that model cooperative echanged couples type can improve student learning achievement on the topic of hidrocarbon in class X Senior High School Negeri (SMAN) 10 Pekanbaru. The results showed that the implementation of learning model cooperative exchanged couples type can improve student achievement with an increase of 1,22%.Key Words : Learning Achievement, Learning model cooperative exchanged couples type, Hidrocarbon

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to develop Learning Media Lectora Inspire 12 on the subject Chemical Elements class XII Science SMA/MA. Research method used is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model consistin of stages Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was to develop phase and be continue with a definite tryout. The product resulting from the research is an interactive learning media based on Lectora Inspire 12 on the topic of Chemical Element which is packaged in CD form. Data collect technique by validating Learning Media Lectora Inspire 12 to three people validator (1 media expert and 2 matter experts) and the trials of Learning Media Lectora Inspire 12 had done by users. Limited trial subjects are 20 students from class XII. Data analysis technique was used descriptive average analysis. The research results show score the designing aspects 4,54; pedagogic aspects 4,60; the content aspects 4,63; the ease of use aspects 4,47; pretest-posttest 0,66; and the learners response 4,64. Average score overall validation of Learning Media Lectora Inspire 12 on the chemical elements subject is 4,55 including very valid category and the average score overall response users is 4,64 including very good category and can be used on the chemical elements subject in class XII SMA/MA.Keywords: Learning Media, Lectora Inspire 12, Chemical Elements.

Abstract

Abstract: The study of Development chemistry worksheet based problem based learning on acid and base Solutions (chemistry). The result of this Development research is student worksheet product which can be used by students in the process of learning. The device development model suggested by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974) is a 4-D Model consisting of 4 stages, such as: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The research development with 4-D model was conducted only Define, Design, and Development step, because the purpose of this research was limited to develop and produce a valid student worksheet to be implemented based on validator assessment. The result of research shows as the average score of the four aspect assessment of the student worksheet which is validated: content: 88,125%, language: 98,43%, presentation: 84,375%, and successive graphics: 95,31% by the validators. Thus, the overall average score of student worksheet validation the acid and base solution on Problem Based Learning is 91,56%. Based on the eligibility criteria of learning tools in Riduwan (2012), the criteria of 91,56% analysis included in valid category.Keywords : Student worksheet, Problem Based Learning, Acid and Base Solution(SchoolChemistry).

Abstract

Abstrack: The research aims to improve student learning achievement on the subject of stoichiometry in class XI MIPA SMA N 9 Pekanbaru. This research was a experiment with randomized group pretest-posttes design. The sample of this study was X IPA 5 as experiment class and X IPA 6 as control class after being tested for normality and homogeneity tests. Normality test was performed using Liliefors test. The results of the Liliefors normality test obtained for all the data (material prerequisites, pretest, and posttest) normal distribution where Lmaks ≤ Ltabel. The results of the homogeneity test, of Fhitung<Ftabel (1,05 < 1,72 with α = 0.05, dk=70) which means that the samples have the same variance (homogeneous). Data analysis technique used was t-test, obtained thitung ≥ ttable (3,4978 > 1,67 with dk = 70 and α = 0.05) means that the application of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model can improve the presensce of the student achievement with criteria for improvinghigh learning achievements which is 0,82 .Key Words: Means Ends Analysis (MEA), student achievement, stoiciometry.
