Abstract

The lack of learner involvement in the learning routine is caused by the use of inappropriate teaching and learning strategies, so it is easy to divert their interest and attention. The purpose of this research is to explain the efficacy of the cooperative script technique assisted by YouTube videos in learning activities for listening to biographies of class X students of SMK Bhinneka Karawang. This research applies a pseudo-trial technique with two samples X MPLB 1 and X MPLB 2. The results of hypothesis analysis are 0.000 < 0.05 which shows a significant difference between the control and trial classes. In addition, the trial class received a higher mean score of 81.875 compared to the control class which only achieved a mean score of 61.406.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ketidakadilan gender dan faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya ketidakadilan gender tokoh dalam kumpulan cerpen “Perempuan Patah Hati yang Kembali Menemukan Cinta Melalui Mimpi” Karya Eka Kurniawan yang berjudul “Analisis Gender Kumpulan Cerpen Perempuan Patah Hati yang Kembali Menemukan Cinta Melalui Mimpi Karya Eka Kurniawan” menggunakan analisis gender dari Mansour Fakih yang sumber datanya diperoleh dari kepustakaan, baik dari buku, jurnal, maupun ensiklopedia, dan hasil penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini yaitu kumpulan cerpen “Perempuan Patah Hati yang Kembali Menemukan Cinta Melalui Mimpi” Karya Eka Kurniawan. Penelitian ini difokuskan mengenai permasalahan terkait ketidakadilan gender terhadap tokoh yang ditinjau menggunakan analisis gender Mansour Fakih. Data diperoleh dengan teknik pembacaan dan pencatatan. Keabsahan diperoleh melalui validasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan bahwa bias gender, ketidakadilan gender, kekerasan, beban kerja, dan segala hal yang merugikan salah satu gender baik itu laki-laki ataupun perempuan, diakibatkan oleh asumsi masyarakat, marginalisasi, dan stereotip yang masih melekat di masyarakat. Hal tersebut tercermin dalam penyampaian perasaan tokoh yang terdapat dalam kumpulan cerpen “Perempuan Patah Hati yang Kembali Menemukan Cinta Melalui Mimpi” Karya Eka Kurniawan. Analisis gender menurut Mansour Fakih terdapat marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotip, kekerasan, dan beban kerja. Permasalahan yang terjadi akibat adanya anggapan masyarakat yang kurang tepat dalam memaknai peran laki-laki dan perempuan. Maka dari itu perlu adanya analisis yang mendalam agar pemahaman masyarakat lebih meluas dan terbuka dalam memahami peran gender. Kata Kunci: ketidakadilan gender, stereotipe, faktor sosial-ekonomi

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) diction and language style in the novel Metafora Sunyi by Heri Samtani (pen name Heri ST); (2) the relevance of Heri ST's novel Metafora Sunyi as literature learning material in high school. The research method uses qualitative, with a stylistic approach. The object of research is diction and language style used by Heri ST in the novel Metafora Sunyi. The data collection technique used is the note-taking technique, by reading and understanding the novel and then recording sentences containing the author's distinctive diction and style. The data analysis technique used is content analysis, the researcher analyzes the content of the text after the data is collected. The results showed: (a) diction in the form of connotative words, concrete words, loan words, foreign words, typical greeting words or personal names, and words with objects of natural reality; (b) language style includes: (1) comparative language style in the form of simile or parable, metaphor, personification, depersonification, allegory, antithesis, pleonasm, periphrasis, correction; (2) contradictory language style in the form of hyperbole, (3) linking language style in the form of metonymy, allusion, antonomasia, erothesis, polysyndeton, and (4) repetition language style in the form of anaphora, mesodilopsis, and epanalepsis; (c) The novel Metafora Sunyi by Heri ST can be used as a literature learning material in SMA in KD 3.9 to analyze the content and language in the novel for class XII.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berlatarbelakang fenomena-fenomena yang sering terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terkait dengan kesantunan berbahasa dalam berkomunikasi. Kesantunan berbahasa juga dapat didefinisikan sebagai aturan perilaku yang telah ditetapkan dan disepakati oleh pelaku sosial di mana hal tersebut berkaitan dengan status sosial seseorang atau usianya. Kesantunan berbahasa tidak hanya ditemukan dalam komunikasi sehari-hari saja, namun dapat ditemukan dalam karya sastra yaitu novel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat dalam novel Menggapai Matahari karya Adnan Katino. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kesantunan milik Leech 1983 yang terdiri dari 6 maksim kesantunan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan sebanyak 72 tuturan yang mengandung pematuhan dan pelanggaran kesantunan, di mana hal tersebut sebanyak 64 tuturan pematuhan maksim meliputi: maksim kebijaksanaan (14), maksim penerimaan (16), maksim kemurahan (7), maksim kesimpatian (10), maksim kesetujuan (14) dan maksim kerendahan hati (3). Sedangkan data yang melangar ditemukan sebanyak 8 data meliputi: maksim kemurahan (4), maksim kebijaksanaan (2) dan maksim kesimpatian (2). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Menggapai Matahari karya Adnan katino yang dinilai mengandung banyaknya dialog-dialog kesantunan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi pustaka, teknik observasi, teknik dokumentasi dan teknik simak catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Kata Kunci: Analisis Kesantunan Berbahasa, Novel Menggapai Matahari Karya Adnan Katino, Teori Lecch 1983. ABSTRACT This research is based on a phenomenon that often happens in everyday life, related to language politeness in communication. Politeness can also be defined as established rules of conduct and agreed by the speaker related to social status or age. Politeness in the language is found in everyday communication and literary works, such as a novel. This study describes language politeness contained in the book Menggapai Matahari written by Adnan Katino. The theory used in this study is the principle of politeness by Leech 1983, which consists of 6 politeness maxims. This study found that 72 speech contains obedience and violation of politeness, whereas the 64 speech maxim compliace includes: tact maxim (14), generosity maxim (16), approbation maxim (7), sympathy maxim (10), agreement maxim (14), and modesty maxim (3). While the data that was violated was found is 8 data including: approbation maxim (3), tact maxim (2) dan sympathy maksim (2). This study used the descriptive qualitative method and qualitative approach. The primary data source used in this study is a book entitled Menggapai Matahari written by Adnan Katino, which contains many polite dialogues. Furthermore, the data collection techniques used in this study are literature study, observation, documentation, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and cobcluding. Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the form of the realization of the principle of language cooperation in the Pandawa Boyong wayang orang performance (2) describe the form of the realization of the principle of language politeness in the Pandawa Boyong wayang orang performance. The research subject is the Pandawa Boyong wayang orang performance and the object is the cooperative principle of Grice's theory and the principle of politeness in language theory of Leech. This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of descriptive analysis. The technique used in this research is Proficient Involvement Free Listening (SBLC). In this study, there is a realization of compliance with the principle of cooperation and the principle of language politeness. There are 243 speech data, there are 90 compliance and 44 violations of the principle of cooperation. Meanwhile, the realization of the principle of language politeness was 88 compliance and 71 violations. Compliance with the principle of cooperation is found in the maxim of quantity, while in language politeness, namely the maxim of wisdom. The biggest violation of the cooperative principle is relevance, followed by politeness in the maxim of praise. Overall, the realization of the two principles, dominant in obedience, can be interpreted that the speech in the Pandawa Boyong wayang orang performance is said to comply with the principle of conversation.

Abstract

Feature is an essay/article to provide information about a situation which contains facts and data obtained through a journalistic process which is conveyed in the mass media. Features published in online media have the use of language or word formation that is easy to understand so that readers can clearly receive the message delivered. Therefore, the use of language in the form of word formation in features can be studied in morphological processes. The purpose of this research is to describe the morphological processes in the March 2023 feature column in media harisinggalang.co.id and waspada.co.id. and make recommendations on the results of the analysis as teaching materials for news texts in junior high schools. This study uses the theory of morphological processes according to Rohmadi by applying a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research results from both media with a total of 10 news found 487 morphological processes in the form of 448 affixation data, 26 reduplication data, and 13 compounding data. Affixation or affixation processes on both media found 448 affixation data (246 prefix data, 4 infix data, 100 suffix data, and 98 confix data). The prefix meN- which functions to form verbs dominates the use of affixes in the media hariangsinggalang.co.id and waspada.co.id. Reduplication or repetition of words on both media found 26 reduplication data (13 reduplication data for all, 5 data for partial reduplication, and 8 data for reduplication with affixes). The compound words found in these two media are 12 data of endocentric compound words and 1 data of exocentric compound words. The results of the research conducted will be recommended as teaching materials in the form of digital handouts on news text material for junior high school level.

Abstract

Society's need for access to news and information becomes undeniable when the swiftness of information produced and coupled with the easy means of accessing news and information. In this study, it is seen how the mass media, especially Mediaindonesia.com, produces news to be able to influence readers in forming their opinions and attitudes towards education. This is described through the text dimension which consists of macro structure, superstructure, and micro structure. The researcher chose a qualitative approach and descriptive method to describe data in the form of words, sentences, paragraphs, and discourses that show the text structure consisting of macro structure, superstructure, and micro structure. The data was obtained based on eight news articles with the theme of digital literacy in the humanities section of Mediaindonesia.com. Based on this, the output of this research is in the form of teaching materials in the form of handouts in which there is Article Text material that serves to make a valuable contribution in improving students' understanding and skills in evaluating, compiling, analyzing, and constructing news articles that have been presented. The selection of the digital literacy theme is also an added value in increasing students' understanding of the importance of digital literacy in the current era of information and technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman peserta didik dalam pembelajaran menelaah, khususnya menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan teks persuasi. oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe jigsaw dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menelaah struktur teks persuasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain penelitian menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa MTs Al-I’anah kelas VIII H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII G sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tes berbentuk uraian yang terdiri dari 8 soal dengan pokok bahasan menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan teks persuasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe jigsaw. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari nilai kelas eksperimen mendapatkan rata-rata pretest sebesar 63,4 dan posttest 84,88. Sedangkan kelas kontrol mendapatkan rata-rata pretest sebesar 64,4 dan posttest 75,95. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, perbedaan dua rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan Berdasarkan perhitungan N-Gain terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,59 sedangkan kelas kontrol 0,30. Keduanya memiliki peningkatan yang sedang, untuk melihat perbedaan yang signifikan maka dilakukan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata skor N- gain dan mendapatkan hasil 0,00 < 0,05 maka Ho ditolak, yang berarti peningkatan kemampuan menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan teks persuasi menggunakan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada siswa yang melakukan pembelajaran konvensional. Maka dari itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe jigsaw efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menelaah struktur dan kebahasaan teks persuasi kelas VIII MTs Al-I’anah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a lack of understanding of polite language style or what is called euphemism and impolite language called dysphemism in online media that can be accessed by many audiences, both parents and children who are still underage. Therefore, this study aims to make a comparison regarding the use of euphemisms and dysphemism on social media such as on YouTube, especially on YouTube METRO TV and CNN Indonesia by looking at the speeches that discuss the 2022 AFF Cup expressed by hosts and guest stars. By using the theory from Allan Keith & Burridge (in Saifullah, 2018: 78-82), namely on the types of euphemisms and dysphemisms, there are 12 types consisting of: new modelling, phonetic similarities, acronyms, abbreviations, word games, circumlocutions, hyperboles , hidden statements, substitutions, synecdoche, and loanwords. The results of the study show that not all types of euphemisms and dysphemism exist on METRO TV and CNN Indonesia's YouTube media, so METRO TV's YouTube uses more types of euphemisms, namely there are 11 types of euphemisms and dysphemisms that are found to have new models, phonetic similarities, acronyms, abbreviations, puns, circumlocutions, hyperbole, hidden statements, metonymy, substitution, synecdoche, and loanwords. Compared to CNN Indonesia, only 9 types of euphemism and dysphemism were found, namely new modeling, phonetic similarity, abbreviation, circumlocution, hyperbole, hidden statement, substitution, and synecdoche. In addition, METRO TV uses more dysphemism than CNN Indonesia. This research can be used as teaching materials at the junior high school level, class IX.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems found in the field that students experience difficulties in learning to write official letters, besides that, the application of the learning model has never been applied in writing official letter skills. This affects student learning outcomes to be less than optimal. This study aims to describe student learning outcomes by applying the Complete Sentence learning model in writing official letters to class VII students of SMPN 1 Pusakajaya. This study aims to (1) describe the effect of applying the Complete Sentence learning model in writing official letters for class VII SMPN 1 Pusakajaya, (2) describe student learning outcomes by applying the Complete Sentence learning model in writing official letters to class VII students of SMPN 1 Pusakajaya. This study uses a quantitative approach. The method in this study was a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The correlation between the research design and the purpose of this study is the utilization of the two classes compared before and after receiving treatment. Processing of research data using SPSS software version 25. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Pusakajaya by taking two classes as samples, namely class 7A and 7C. The sample in this study amounted to 60 students. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling. There are three stages in this study, namely pretest, treatment, and posttest. Based on the results of the study it was found that the average pretest and posttest scores for the experimental class were 52.57 and 84.47, this shows that the pretest and posttest scores had a difference of 31.9. Meanwhile, the average pretest and posttest scores for the control class were 50.85 and 61.14. shows that the two scores have a difference of 10.29. In this case it shows that the score of the experimental class is greater than that of the control class. The research results obtained from the pretest and posttest show that the data is normal and homogeneous. Based on the hypothesis test (T test) on the posttest data results obtained 0.000 <0.05, meaning that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Complete Sentence learning model on the ability to write official letters in class VII students of SMPN 1 Pusakajaya.
