The process of creating the e-modules should be explained in detail, based on the type intended for use in the research. This will allow us to determine the suitability of the e-module product, making it useful for teachers and students who utilize the product. Secondly, to ascertain the responses provided by both teachers and students when using the project-based E-module product with local wisdom content. These responses will be valuable in assessing students' interest in self-directed learning using the product. Additionally, understanding teachers' responses when using the product can facilitate the teaching process and address any challenges that arise. Therefore, this research aims to uncover the responses generated. This e-module is expected to be able to attract attention and be independent in learning so as to add to the learning experience and have knowledge about local wisdom in the area. This study uses a development research design, which uses the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study show that the results of the validation trials of media experts and material experts mean that the average percentage score is 77% with valid criteria used but needs revision. The results of user trials get a percentage score of 82.4% with valid criteria used but need revision.

Abstract

The low science literacy ability for Central Java Province is certainly related to educational institutions that produce prospective science teachers. The better and more mature the preparations are made, the more professional the graduates are produced. The aspects measured include the essence of science and how to learn science. The data analysis technique uses descriptive statistics. The findings of this research are distinguished from three major challenges, namely (1) Specialization in the scientific field starts from the selection of science courses that are less accommodating to pay attention to the tendency of interest of prospective MI teachers, (2) the determination of courses should refer to the acquisition of science literacy assessments nationally and the rankings of PISA and TIMSS Indonesia, and (3) It is necessary to provide more intensive debriefing to prospective MI teachers about professionalism competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning design based on local wisdom in MI/SD Gunungkidul by utilising the uniqueness of local culture and natural resource wealth, such as traditional agricultural practices, natural resource management, and local community lifestyles. This research uses a qualitative approach involving 17 teachers as the main source to obtain in-depth data about their experiences, challenges, and needs in implementing local wisdom-based learning. With semi-structured interview instruments and data analysis through three stages data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion, the study is guided by three problem formulations: (1) how local wisdom-based science learning is implemented in schools, (2) why such a design is important in Gunungkidul, and (3) what its impacts are. These problems directly align with the research objectives, which are to explore current implementation practices, analyse the urgency and contextual relevance of integrating local wisdom into science education, and evaluate its potential impact on science literacy, cultural and environmental preservation, and student creativity. The findings show varying levels of implementation, with some schools beginning integration despite challenges such as limited facilities and teacher readiness. Overall, the local wisdom-based science learning approach makes lessons more meaningful and relevant to students' lives.
