Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of increasing productivity and food security of sago farmers in the local community of the Mooy Tribe, Aimas Village, Aimas District, Sorong Regency. Sampling of respondents was taken using a random system from sago farmers in the Mooy Tribe community in Aimas Village, Aimas District as many as 13 families. The data analysis used is quantitative data and qualitative data with the data sources used are primary data and secondary data. SWOT analysis was used to determine the strategy for increasing productivity of Mooy Tribe sago farmers. The results of the analysis show that the value of the SWOT analysis (+0.85 and -0.10) is in quadrant II with a diversification strategy. This shows that the income of sago farming by the Mooy Tribe community in Aimas Village, Aimas District, Sorong Regency is still in the feasible category and efforts are needed to introduce modern technology harvesting systems, high productivity cultivars, increase counseling and diversify processed sago products. Besides that, Mooy farmers still pay attention to sago-based food security of 20% of production and preserve conventional cultivation

Abstract

Abstract

Forests as part of the environment have a big role in maintaining ecosystem stability. One of them is as a carbon store. Vegetation in forests can prevent the release of carbon into the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis where vegetation absorbs CO2 then breaks it down and stores it in the form of biomass. This is what makes it important for forest friends to study their ability to store biomass and carbon specifically on Agroforestry land as one of the site level forest management units. The aim of this research is to develop an allometric equation model to estimate the value of carbon biomass stored in bellow ground specifically for stands on traditional agroforestry land. The method used is a destructive sampling by selecting sample trees purposively and selecting three samples. trees with different diameters at breast height (dbh) but the same age representing stands on agroforestry land in Aimas District, Sorong Regency. biomass and carbon measurements were carried out through laboratory tests. The total below ground biomass content of the 19 of Paraserianthes falcataria stands obtained was 0.369 tons/ha. The below ground carbon content of sengon stands on 2.8 hectares of agroforestry land is 0.184 tonnes C/ha.

Abstract

Marine debris is a problem caused by anthropogenic activities in land and sea, threatening the balance of marine ecosystems. Marine Debris Sampling and Volunteering activities are one of the actions organized by Our ConservaSea to increase public understanding about marine debris, as well providing overview of the status of marine debris in Manokwari coastal area. Activity was carried in 4 coastal locations in Manokwari at the end of 2022 to early 2023. Data collection was carried out descriptively. Based on the results of questionnaires and data of the program, we found out of 35 total participants, 91% rated the structure of the activity as very good, 82% answered that the activity facilities were very good, and 100% rated that the presentation of marine debris information had been delivered very well. Furthermore, the results of the activity content can reach up to 765 community engagement on social media.

Abstract

Momiwaren Village is one of the villages close to the Momiwaren Protected Forest Area. In line with regional development and technological advances, knowledge of the use of plants as medicinal ingredients is starting to disappear. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research on how many types of plants are still used by the community as medicinal ingredients. The method used in this research is a survey method with interview techniques. The results of this research show that the people of Momiwaren Village still use plants as medicinal ingredients. There are 30 species from 22 families used by the community. If we look at the conservation status of the plants used, the types of plants used are still included in the naturally available (LC/DD) category, but there is one type of plant that is threatened with extinction and requires further silvicultural action so that this plant can be cultivated and not extinct from nature.

Abstract

AbstractAquilaria microcarpa is one of agarwood-producing plants, Interaction of pathogenic fungi may cause physiological changes in plants that have an impact on visual changes in cells, tissues or organs of plants. This study aims to determine differences in the anatomical characters of Aquilaria microcarpa that have been inoculated with Fusarium sp. Observations of anatomical characters showed that traits of inoculated and un-inoculated Aquilaria microcarpa in general are partly different. The difference was found in wood color, odor/aroma, the pores of wood and leather inserted visible. Chemical compounds contained in the plant interact with fusarium was Elemol, Baimuxinal, 3-phenyl-2-butanone, chromen-4-one.
