Abstract

ABSTRACT: The family, as society’s foundational unit, shapes social, cultural, educational, economic, and civilizational outcomes. In Indonesia, family resilience faces significant challenges, evidenced by a high divorce rate (408,347 cases as of February 2024) and widespread family conflict (246,018 cases of domestic violence). This study evaluates the effectiveness of a parenting workshop in enhancing parental self-efficacy (PSE) in parenting. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests, the study involved 16 parents aged 27–50 years. Results revealed a statistically significant improvement in parenting self-efficacy (p < .001, Cohen’s d = -1.18), demonstrating the workshop’s effectiveness in deepening parenting knowledge and skills. These findings underscore the value of community-based parenting education as a preventive intervention to bolster family resilience and promote positive family dynamics. Key words: self efficacy, family strengthening, parenting workshop. ABSTRAK: Keluarga merupakan unit dasar masyarakat yang memengaruhi kualitas sosial, budaya, pendidikan, ekonomi, dan peradaban. Di Indonesia, tantangan terhadap ketahanan keluarga tercermin dari tingginya angka perceraian (408.347 kasus per Februari 2024) dan konflik keluarga (246.018 kasus kekerasan dalam rumah tangga). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas workshop parenting dalam meningkatkan efikasi diri orang tua dalam pengasuhan. Dengan menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan prates dan pascates, penelitian ini melibatkan 16 orang tua berusia 27–50 tahun. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam efikasi diri pengasuhan (p < .001, Cohen’s d = -1.18), yang menunjukkan bahwa workshop tersebut efektif dalam memperdalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan pengasuhan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya intervensi pencegahan berbasis komunitas untuk memperkuat ketahanan keluarga dan mempromosikan dinamika keluarga yang positif. Abstract

Abstract: In the complex landscape of Indonesian ethnic and economic identity, the convergence of Chinese entrepreneurial spirit and Javanese royal traditions offers a unique lens into the multidimensional nature of success. This study explores the core values of a Chinese-Indonesian entrepreneur who holds the noble title of Kanjeng Mas Tumenggung in the Yogyakarta Palace. Utilizing an intrinsic case study design within a constructivist paradigm, we examine how the subject navigates and synthesizes two distinct cultural orientations. Our findings reveal that success and happiness are driven by a synergy of self-direction, universalism, and benevolence. Critically, the Javanese philosophy of "migunani tumpraping liyan" (being of benefit to others) serves as a catalyst that transforms business ambition into cultural service. This study demonstrates that cultural hybridity, rather than being a source of tension, provides a robust foundation for subjective well-being. Abstract

Millennial workers are a group of individuals who are relatively new to the workforce and have limited experience. Nevertheless, they have rapidly grown to dominate the job market. Several previous studies have explored the various work motivations of the millennial generation, which have since sparked ongoing debates. The purpose of this study is to examine and describe the differences in work motivation among Millennials with low socioeconomic levels in Makassar. This study hypothesizes that simultaneously there is a significant difference in the Millennials’ work motivation based on the personal need fulfillment of Millennials workers in Makassar. The participants in this study are 200 millennial workers with a low economic level. They are consisted of work focused in the service sector, employees in the production sector, sales workers, and fishermen. The Work Motivation Scale is used for data collection by an online platform and a paper-and-pencil test. Moreover, the difference test in the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) is generated in this research. The result shows that, simultaneously, there is a significant difference in the work motivation based on personal need fulfilment of the Millennials who have low economic level in Makassar. AbstrakKelompok pekerja generasi milenial merupakan mereka yang baru serta minim pengalaman yang memasuki dunia kerja. Meskipun demikian perkembangan mereka sangat cepat dalam mendominasi lapangan pekerjaan. Beberapa studi terdahulu menjelaskan berbagai motivasi kerja generasi milenial yang kemudian menjadi perdebatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan mendeskripsikan perbedaan motivasi kerja pada generasi milenial berstatus sosial ekonomi rendah di Kota Makassar. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah secara simultan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada motivasi kerja berdasarkan pemenuhan kebutuhan pada pekerja milenial di Kota Makassar. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 200 orang pekerja milenial berstatus sosial ekonomi rendah yang bekerja pada bidang pekerjaan pelayanan jasa, industri dan pengolahan, tenaga penjualan serta nelayan tangkap. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala motivasi kerja yang disebar pada platform online serta dengan cara paper and pencil test. Analisis data menggunakan uji perbedaan multivariat analysis of varians (Manova). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada motivasi kerja berdasarkan pemenuhan kebutuhan pada pekerja milenial berstatus sosial ekonomi rendah di Kota Makassar.
