Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the growth and production of melons due to the administration of trichoderma sp and the addition of a dose of NPK fertilizer and the interaction of trichoderma sp. with Phonska NPK fertilizer. This research was conducted in the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung from January to March 2021. The treatments were arranged in a 2x4 factorial with 3 replications in a Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is the first factor is trichoderma (without trichoderma and 20 g/plant), the second factor is Phonska NPK fertilizer dose (without NPK, 30 g/plant, 60 g/plant and 90 g/plant). The results showed (1) Application of trichoderma 20 g/plant increased plant stem length (124.45), melon diameter (104.39 mm) higher than without trichoderma application, plant stem length (122.74cm), melon diameter (100, 13 mm), as well as melon weight per plant increased from 666.10 g (without trichoderma application) to 717.05 g (20 g/plant). (2) Application of NPK phonska fertilizer at a dose of 60 g/plant increased plant stem length (125.10 cm), melon diameter (108.70 mm) higher than without NPK application (123.23 cm) (95.82 mm), Likewise, melon weight per plant increased from 649.83 g (without NPK fertilizer) to 748.18 g. (3) Application of trichoderma sp. 20 g/plant in synergy with the application of NPK phonska fertilizer at a dose of 60 g/plant gave the best results based on the variables of plant stem length (127.30 cm), melon diameter (115.00 mm) and melon weight (795.63 g) compared to without application of trichoderma sp and without application of fertilizer the average length of plant stems (123.17 cm), melon diameter (92.77 mm) and melon weight (663.10 g).Keywords : Melon, fertilizer, yield, trichoderma

Abstract

Pineapple (Ananas comosus [L.] Merr.) is one type of fruit that has an important role in Indonesia because it is a major export commodity, both in fresh and processed forms such as canned fruit and juice. Therefore, the development of pineapple production is a strategic matter. One of the steps taken to increase pineapple production is through proper and balanced fertilization. The objective of this study was to determine the best fertilizer package that supports the growth of pineapple plants. The research was conducted from November 2022 to March 2023 using a single-factor Randomized Group Design (RAK), consisting of treatments and repeated 4 times.  The treatment packages tested included the dose and interval of fertilization, namely: P0= 200 kg DAP + 200 kg Kiesirite + 300 kg K2SO4 + 50 kg ZA per ha (0, 30 HST), P1= 300 kg DAP + 300 kg Kiesirite + 300 kg K2SO4 + 50 kg ZA per ha (0, 30, 60 HST), P2= 300 kg DAP + 300 kg Kiesirite + 300 kg K2SO4+ 50 kg ZA per ha (0, 15, 45 HST), P3= 350 kg DAP + 350 kg Kiesirite + 350 kg K2SO4 + 50 kg ZA per ha (0, 30, 60 HST), and P4= 350 kg DAP + 350 kg Kiesirite + 350 kg K2SO4 + 100 kg ZA per ha (0, 15, 45 HST). In each experimental unit, 5 sample plants were selected, so that the total plants observed were 100 sample plants. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance, and the F test showed significant differences which were then further tested with the Least Significant Difference (BNT) test at the 5% level.  The results showed that in general, fertilizer doses and intervals had no significant effect on most of the observed variables, except on d-leaf width and d-leaf length.  The fertilizer package in the P0 treatment (200 kg DAP + 200 kg Kiesirite + 300 kg K2SO4 + 50 kg ZA) per ha proved to be the best to support pineapple plant growth. Keywords: dosage, fertilization frequency, pineapple, inorganic fertilizer

Abstract

The growth and production of cassava can be increased through various efforts, including the use of superior varieties, fertilization, the addition of organic materials, and the application of growth regulators (PGR). Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) are PGRs that have been widely documented to stimulate root initiation and development in cuttings. The application of aauxin mixtures on cassava cuttings followed by fertilization and the addition of organic materials is expected to improve the growth and yield of cassava. The aim of this experiment is to study the effects of the application of an NAA and IBA mixture (1:1) and the type of fertilizer on the growth and yield of the Garuda variety of cassava. This research is designed using a clustered randomized block method with three replications. The design used is factorial 2x3, consisting of two main treatment factors. The first factor is the combination of growth regulators NAA and IBA in a 1:1 ratio at three concentration levels, namely 0 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1,000 ppm. The second factor includes the type of fertilizer used, which is a single inorganic fertilizer and a combination of inorganic fertilizer with cow manure. Each experimental unit in this study consists of 10 cassava cuttings planted in an orderly manner with a planting distance of 1 meter x 1 meter between plants. The results of the experiment showed that the application of inorganic fertilizer produced plant growth and the number of productive roots equivalent to the use of inorganic fertilizer + cow manure. The application of a mixture of auxins NAA and IBA (1:1) at concentrations of 500 ppm and 1,000 ppm significantly increased the growth of shoots, the number and weight of productive roots of the Garuda variety cassava, but both treatments resulted in cassava growth and yield that were not different.
