Abstract

Stunting is a significant public health issue affecting children under five years old, leading to long-term consequences on growth and development. The method used in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Research conducted systematically by following the rules with the flow of literature review to avoid subjective misunderstandings from researchers. The data used in the study are sourced from national and international scientific publication databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Direct. The search keywords for the article are arranged based on the PICOS Framework, the keywords are "stunting in children 0-5 years", "stunting prevention" and "stunting control strategy". The review identified the effective interventions highlighted include promoting exclusive breastfeeding, improving maternal nutrition, and implementing community-based nutrition programs. Additionally, the role of education and awareness in fostering healthy dietary practices among families was emphasized. The results of the review conducted on 3 national journal articles and 11 international journal articles indicate that strategies for the prevention and control of stunting must include a holistic approach that involves health promotion, nutritional improvement, sanitation enhancement, community empowerment, and the increase of parental self-efficacy. It is hoped that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia will continue to decline, thereby improving the quality of future human resources to realize a competitive Golden Generation of Indonesia.

Abstract

The increasing incidence of infectious diseases among children highlights the urgent necessity for effective health education programs emphasizing clean and healthy behaviors. This study aims to identify the determinants influencing the effectiveness of health education in preventing infectious diseases in children. A systematic literature review was performed, analyzing 15 peer-reviewed articles retrieved from databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, encompassing publications from 2019 to 2024. The search strategy employed keywords such as "health education," "infectious disease prevention," and "clean and healthy behavior." Inclusion criteria comprised studies focusing on health education interventions, while exclusion criteria omitted non-peer-reviewed articles and studies irrelevant to the subject matter. The findings revealed that interactive teaching approaches substantially improved children’s comprehension and retention of health-related information. Furthermore, robust parental involvement demonstrated a positive association with the enhancement of children’s health behaviors. The review also underscored the significance of culturally sensitive educational materials and well-trained educators in delivering effective health education. In conclusion, addressing these factors is critical to optimizing the effectiveness of health education programs designed to promote clean and healthy behaviors, thereby contributing to the prevention of infectious diseases and improved health outcomes among children.

Abstract

Employee performance refers to the extent to which employees achieve work outcomes in accordance with predetermined job standards. Performance encompasses not only work results but also behaviors, attitudes, and mental readiness, reflecting a commitment to continuous improvement in work quality. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of health workers’ performance at the Bulili Community Health Center, Palu City, in 2024. This study employed a quantitative approach with an analytical survey design. The study population consisted of all employees at the Bulili Community Health Center, with a total sample of 80 respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring variables including length of service, attitude, motivation, rewards, leadership, and work performance. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square statistical test with a significance level of ? ? 0.05, followed by multivariate analysis to identify the most influential determinant. The results indicated significant relationships between length of service and work performance (p = 0.001), attitude and work performance (p = 0.000), motivation and work performance (p = 0.000), rewards and work performance (p = 0.000), and leadership and work performance (p = 0.000). Among the five variables, leadership emerged as the most influential determinant of work performance (B = 1.795; Sig = 0.024). In conclusion, length of service, attitude, motivation, rewards, and leadership are significantly associated with the performance of health workers. Therefore, targeted efforts—particularly in strengthening leadership practices—are essential to enhance employee performance and ensure the delivery of high-quality health services.

Abstract

Low public awareness in TB treatment, at least 6 months and many cases of drug discontinuation which causes resistance to anti-tuberculosis drugs also affect transmission, do not understand how to treat. The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis of tuberculosis patient management in the Donggala District Health Center area. This research method uses a qualitative method to explain and describe (in words) the implementation of TB case finding at the Donggala Health Center so that the research results can be conveyed in depth, with 7 informants. Based on the research results, the community in the Donggala Health Center area has a diverse understanding, some people are aware of the dangers of TB and the importance of regular treatment. Health workers have an important role in finding new cases of TB. They carry out active screening by going directly to the community, conducting close contact investigations, and working with health cadres and the village government. The conclusion is that health services in the Donggala Health Center area are quite available, with the presence of laboratories and medical personnel who can carry out TB examinations and diagnoses quickly. Research suggestions can expand the reach of education to the community about the importance of TB prevention, compliance with taking medication, and the risk of spreading the disease.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the prevalence, causes, impacts, and effectiveness of interventions related to mental health disorders among adolescents in Indonesia. Based on data from the WHO and the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), mental disorders among adolescents such as depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders show high prevalence rates. This research also identifies contributing factors at the individual, family, social, and digital levels, and analyzes the long-term impacts of untreated mental health issues. In addition, the effectiveness of various interventions whether school-based, family-based, or digital technology-based is evaluated. The study reveals existing gaps in mental health services, including a lack of professional personnel, social stigma, and limited access in certain areas. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need to strengthen mental health service capacity and to develop more inclusive and culturally sensitive policies and interventions to address adolescent mental health issues.

Abstract

Maternal mortality remains a significant public health problem and reflects the quality of maternal health services. Donggala Regency is one of the regions with a relatively high and fluctuating maternal mortality rate during the period 2020–2024. This study aimed to analyze risk factors and determine the most influential factors associated with maternal mortality in Donggala Regency from 2020 to 2024. This study employed an observational analytic design with a case–control approach, involving a total sample of 108 subjects, consisting of 54 cases and 54 controls, selected using purposive sampling. Secondary data were obtained from Maternal Verbal Autopsy (MVA) records and the maternal cohort registry. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, applying Odds Ratio (OR) and p-values for bivariate analysis, and multiple logistic regression for multivariate analysis. The results of the study showed that the risk factors for maternal mortality in Donggala Regency during 2020–2024 were a history of hemorrhage (AOR = 9.01; 95% CI = 1.61–50.64; p = 0.013), history of disease (AOR = 8.21; 95% CI = 1.56–43.32; p = 0.013), and incomplete antenatal care (ANC) visits (AOR = 6.14; 95% CI = 1.52–24.85; p = 0.011). Delay in referral was identified as the main and independent risk factor associated with maternal mortality (AOR = 10.05; 95% CI = 2.04–49.61; p = 0.005). Parity, interpregnancy interval, history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and maternal education did not show statistically significant associations; however, they acted as confounding variables in the final multivariate model.Maternal mortality in Donggala District during 2020–2024 was significantly influenced by a history of hemorrhage, comorbid diseases, inadequate ANC, and referral delay. Referral delay was the strongest determinant of maternal mortality. These findings highlight the importance of early detection of pregnancy complications, adherence to standard ANC services, and an effective and timely maternal referral system to reduce maternal mortality
