Abstract

Since the implementation of the decentralization policy in education management in 2001, many local governments (PEMDAs) have decided to teach English as a local content (Mulok) at the elementary school level (or even in kindergarten). This local government initiative is problematic because the implementation of this mulok is not accompanied by special efforts to prepare some important aspects such as English teachers to teach in elementary schools and some supporting facilities. This research was conducted within 2 months (from January - February 2022). They were an English teacher at MI Tahfidz Nurul Huda Japuralor and some students of MI Tahfidz Nurul Huda Japuralor. The subjects were selected using Purposive Sampling techniques. This article discusses an overview of teaching English to children in MI Tahfidz Nurul Huda Japuralor, teachers’ perception toward teaching English to Young Learners, and Parents’ persepectives on learning English.

Abstract

Education that is delivered virtually, with neither the teacher nor the pupils physically present, is referred to as "distance learning. Although the terms "Distance Learning" and "E-learning" are frequently used interchangeably, they refer to two different concepts. The main difference between e-learning and distance learning is location. With e-learning, students can be together in a classroom while going through their digital lessons and assessments. Distance learning, on the other hand, can be done online and from the student’s home. The contact between teachers and students will vary as a result of the diversity in settings. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research methodology that depicts the scenario as it relates to an indicator or the current status of the findings in the field. A qualitative research process is one that generates descriptive data from people or observed behaviors as written or spoken words. In this study, the methods for gathering data and information were interviewing, and documenting studies of the necessary data sources. We come to the conclusion that the following needs will be met by this method of DLS improvement: (1) Improving the mapping between academia and industry; (2) Assist in keeping the skilled workers in the sector; (3) Bringing remote sector workers into the industrial job market on an equal footing with those who live in cities and towns and (4) Assist in the nation's development of an educated and cultural society.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) represents a transformative shift in language education, offering innovative tools and approaches to enhance learning outcomes and experiences. This study explores the various AI technologies and applications employed in ELT, including personalized learning platforms, intelligent tutoring systems, automated writing evaluation tools, and language learning apps. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, theoretical frameworks, and empirical studies, this paper examines the effectiveness, pedagogical implications, ethical considerations, and future directions of AI integration in ELT. Key findings reveal that AI-driven tools provide personalized, adaptive, and interactive learning experiences tailored to individual learners' needs, promoting student engagement, autonomy, and proficiency development. While AI technologies offer numerous benefits for language instruction, including improved learning outcomes, teacher efficiency, and accessibility, they also raise ethical and social considerations, such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and equity issues. Addressing these challenges requires collaborative efforts among educators, policymakers, researchers, and technology developers to ensure responsible and equitable AI use in language education. Looking ahead, future directions include advancing AI technology, integrating AI and pedagogy, promoting ethical and responsible AI use, providing teacher training and professional development, fostering collaborative research and evaluation, innovating in assessment and evaluation, and promoting global collaboration and knowledge sharing in ELT. By embracing innovation, collaboration, and ethical practice, educators can harness the transformative power of AI technologies to create dynamic, inclusive, and effective language learning environments that empower learners to succeed in today's interconnected world.

Abstract

The advent of generative AI has sparked widespread debate about its implications for creativity and innovation. This article explores the dual nature of generative AI as both a potential threat and a catalyst for creative progress. While AI systems are capable of producing art, literature, music, and design with remarkable efficiency, concerns have emerged regarding the erosion of human-centered creativity and the risk of homogenization in artistic expression. On the other hand, proponents argue that AI serves as a powerful tool that expands the boundaries of creativity by augmenting human capabilities, fostering new forms of artistic collaboration, and accelerating innovation in various fields. This article critically examines both perspectives, analyzing the role of generative AI in shaping the future of creativity. It highlights the need for ethical frameworks and a balanced approach to integrating AI technologies, ensuring that human imagination remains central to creative endeavors while leveraging AI’s potential for transformative innovation.
