Abstract

Telah dilakukan visualisasi pola medan elektromagnetik 4 moda terendah pada pandu gelombang persegi untuk moda berorde tinggi, yaitu moda TE00, TE01, TE10 dan TE11. Konstanta propagasi sebagai salah satu parameter yang digunakan untuk mengkarakter moda gelombang optik diformulasikan secara semi analitik. Hal ini dikarenakan formulasi konstanta propagasi efektif moda gelombang tidak dapat diturunkan secara eksak. Beberapa bagian dipecahkan menggunakan penyelesaian analitik, sedangkan beberapa bagian diselesaikan melalui analisa numerik secara komputasional dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Matlab. Analisis karakter pola medan dilakukan dengan menggunakan prinsip Variasional fungsi trial polinom Hypergeometri, sedangkan profil indeks bias berbentuk secant hyperbolik. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan berbagai orde moda menunjukkan kesesuaian terhadap metode indeks efektif dan mampu mendeskripsikan pola medan.

Abstract

Leadership occurs when the individuals claimed capable of leading, received endorsements from their subordinates. Without endorsements (i.e., subordinates’ willingness to support and be directed by the leader), no leader will be able to direct and influence their subordinates. Using the Social Identity Theory of leadership, this research aimed to investigate the factors influencing leader endorsement. Through an online survey with good internal consistency (i.e., coefficient reliability ranging from .7 to .9), this study was able to collect data from 186 private employees across Indonesia.  The moderated multiple regression analysis showed 1) subordinates tend to endorse prototypical leaders; 2) organizational identification is positively related to leader endorsement; and 3) leader effectiveness weakens the positive relationship between leader prototypicality and leader endorsement.  This study contributes to the social identity theory of leadership by demonstrating that low prototypical leaders may still get endorsed, as long as they are showing effective behavior.  This new finding sheds light on what kind of leadership behaviors may win the endorsement from their subordinates.

Abstract

The research aims are to know: 1) the influence of learning creativity towards studyindependence; 2) the influence of study motivation towards study independence, 3)the influence of learning creativity and study motivation towards studyindependence simultaneously. The research method used is descriptive quantitative.The population is all of students of UMS in 2010/11 period around 190, sample is123 by using simple random sampling technique. Data collecting used is questionnaire that wastested and fulfilled validity and reliability requirement. Analysis data used doubled linierregression Y = 10,163 + 0,452X1 + 0,349X2, based on analysis and discussion about students ofUMS in 2010 period can be concluded that: 1) learning creativity has positive influence towardsstudy independence, with significance value 0,000 0,05. (2) study motivation has positive influencetowards study independence, with significance value 0,000 0,05. (3) learning creativity and studymotivation towards study independence simultaneously have positive influence towards studyindependence, with significance value 0,000 0,05. (4) The contribution of R2 is 0.376, it means37,6% students study independence was influenced by learning creativity and study motivationvariables, the rest is 62,4% was influenced by other factors that did not follow in this research.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mendeteksi variasi temperatur menggunakan multimode fiber coupler sebagai sensor dan logam aluminium sebagai probe. Penelitian sebelumnya telah menunjukkan bahwa multimode fiber coupler dapat digunakan sebagai sensor pergeseran, dan hasil inilah yang digunakan untuk konstruksi pergeseran salah satu ujung batang logam yang telah mengalami perubahan temperatur. Sebuah cermin di tempatkan pada salah satu ujung batang logam yang bebas dan dapat bergerak selama proses pemuaian termal. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa perubahan temperatur 2C pada batang logam mampu terdeteksi. Logam aluminium mempunyai hubungan linier terhadap tegangan detektor dalam rentang temperatur 26C - 361C, dengan sensitivitas 9,9 mV/C yang mampu mendeteksi perubahan temperatur 0,1C.

Abstract

Deteksi ketinggian air secara kontinyu telah berhasil dilakukan berbasis pada sensor pergeseran menggunakan multimode fiber coupler dengan membran dari bahan polyisoprene sebagai reflektor. Prinsip kerja sensor menggunakan perubahan tekanan hidrostatis akibat perubahan ketinggian air dalam tangki untuk menggeser membran yang diberi bahan reflektor. Pergeseran membran menyebabkan perubahan daya optis berkas balik cahaya pantulan dari membran yang masuk ke kanal sensing fiber coupler. Perubahan daya optis berkas balik terkopel ke kanal deteksi fiber coupler dan terbaca dalam bentuk tegangan keluaran detektor optis. Resolusi ketinggian air yang mempu dideteksi sebesar 1 mm dengan rentang ketinggian 45 mm - 320 mm. Daerah linier dan sensitivias sensor yang dihasilkan masing-masing sebesar 10,4 μV/mm dan 130 mm - 320 mm.

Abstract

Concentric bundle probe dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mendeteksi ketinggian air dengan berbasis pada sensor pergeseran. Mekanisme kerja sensor adalah mendeteksi pergeseran reflektor yang merekat pada membran akibat perubahan ketinggian zat cair. Pergeseran reflektor terdeteksi melalui perubahan intensitas cahaya pantulan dari reflektor yang masuk fiber optik penerima yang mengelilingi fiber optik pemancar cahaya. Penggunaan satu lapis membran dari bahan nitrile polymer dengan tebal 0,08 mm menghasilkan daerah kerja sensor sebesar 100 cm dengan resolusi sebesar 0,9 cm.DOI: https://doi.org/10.17977/um024v2i22017p048

Abstract

Three multimode-fiber couplers with different coupling ratios, excess losses and directivities are used to sense adisplacement. The fiber coupler is handmade from 1 mm diameter plastic optical fiber. The light source is 632.8nm He-Ne Laser. OPT 101 (Burr Brown) detector is used to detect the change in power output due to theobject’s displacement. The opted displacement’s resolution is 5 μm. The experiment shows that multimode-ficecoupler with 0.25 ratio, 1.37 dB excess loss, and 25 dB directivity gives the highest performance, which has 4mm dynamic range, 1 mm linear range, and 55.4 μW/mm sensitivity. Higher performance can be reached ifmultimode-fiber coupler with the highest coupling ratio and the lowest excess loss is opted.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan fabrikasi directional coupler simetri 2x2 dari bahan serat optik plastik (POF) step-index multimode dengan metode fused. Bahan untuk fabrikasi directional coupler adalah serat optik plastik multimode tipe FD-620-10 dengan diameter serat 1 mm. Fabrikasi dilakukan dengan cara memoles sepasang serat optik dengan panjang daerah interaksi kopling bervariasi dan lebar gap konstan, pasangan serat optik yang telah dipoles kemudian digabungkan. Fabrikasi menghasilkan empat buah directional coupler, salah satu directional coupler hasil fabrikasi parameternya memenuhi standar fabrikasi yaitu nilai ratio coupling 0,245 dengan toleransi dibawah 10% serta nilai excess loss lebih kecil dari 2 dB.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan eksperimen directional coupler serat optik multimode hasil fabrikasi sendiri sebagai sensor pergeseran mikro berbasis teknik modulasi intensitas dengan teknik yang sederhana. Analisis performansi sensor menggunakan pendekatan berkas Gaussian. Eksperimen menggunakan sumber laser He-Ne (632,8 nm; 1 mW), detektor OPT-101 (Burr Brown) untuk mendeteksi perubahan daya optik akibat pergeseran obyek (cermin front silvered) serta mikrovoltmeter (Leybold) untuk membaca tegangan keluaran detektor. Pergeseran obyek dilakukan dengan resolusi 5 μm. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan performansi sensor yang cukup baik, mampu mendeteksi pergeseran obyek sampai rentang 3,1 mm, daerah kerja sensor 0 - 1,3 mm dan sensitivitas sebesar 19,3 μW/mm.

Abstract

Background: Almost all of the development and research actors in the field of optical physics come from universities. Meanwhile, at the SMA, MA and SMK levels, this field is very poorly understood. This is due to the limited knowledge of optical physics and its supporting technology owned by the teachers. Objective: With this continuous and continuous training, it is hoped that it can provide new insights about understanding lasers and their use for technology 4.0 and can utilize laboratories in schools at the SMA, MA and SMK levels. Method: In practice, this activity was carried out virtually via Zoom which was attended by teachers at the SMA, MA and SMK levels, and was filled by several Physics lecturers at Airlangga University in delivering material in the form of lasers, laser diffraction, and 3D printing technology. Results: Partners get information related to increasing knowledge of the use of lasers and diffraction phenomena that can be conveyed and demonstrated to students, as well as the use of 3D printing technology so that teachers can convey and increase students' interest in learning Physics. Conclusion: Physics teachers at the SMA, MA and SMK levels, especially in Gresik Regency, feel quite helped by this activity because it has provided updated knowledge and information related to understanding and mastering the basic principles and applications of using lasers with a very satisfied level of satisfaction of about 47.73%, a satisfied category of about 45.27%, and the remaining 7% choosing to be less satisfied.
