Abstract

This study aims to synthesize and map research trends related to the development of sensor-based linear motion kits integrated with a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ problem-solving and critical thinking skills in physics education. A Hybrid Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Bibliometric Review was employed following PRISMA guidelines. Articles published between 2020 and 2025 were retrieved from Scopus and SINTA databases. Articles focusing on sensor-based kits and PBL in high school or university physics were included. After identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion processes, 30 relevant studies were analyzed. Bibliometric techniques were used to identify publication trends, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic clusters, while qualitative synthesis examined pedagogical approaches and learning outcomes. The findings indicate a growing research interest in sensor-supported physics learning and PBL integration. Studies consistently report that sensor-based linear motion kits embedded in PBL environments effectively support real-time data interpretation, experimental reasoning, and collaborative inquiry, leading to significant improvements in problem-solving and critical thinking skills. However, gaps remain in the integration of low-cost, curriculum-aligned sensor kits and in long-term empirical validation. This review highlights the pedagogical potential of integrating sensor-based linear motion kits with PBL and provides evidence-based insights to guide future research and instructional design in physics education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the horizontal distribution of birds based on habitat type, namely fish ponds, rehabilitated mangroves, and natural mangroves, located in the Bagek Kembar Mangrove Area. Observations were conducted in June-July at the Bagek Kembar Mangrove Area, Sekotong. This research uses a transect method, following the paths found at three observation locations. Bird observations were conducted twice, in the morning (06:30-09:30 WITA) and evening (15:30-18:30 WITA). The results recorded 57 species, with the dominant habitat for finding bird species being the natural mangrove area, which has a fairly dense and diverse vegetation structure. The horizontal distribution of birds in the Bagek Kembar Mangrove Area is illustrated using CANOCO for Windows 4.5 with a PCA (Principal Component Analysis) diagram. This study concludes that bird diversity is higher in natural mangrove habitats compared to fishpond and rehabilitated mangrove habitats, making this area important for supporting conservation and the development of birdwatching ecotourism.

Abstract

Tuntutan penguasaan keterampilan abad ke-21 menempatkan pembelajaran IPA tidak hanya berorientasi pada penguasaan konsep, tetapi juga pada pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis, keterampilan proses sains, dan minat wirausaha siswa melalui pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan kontekstual. Namun, tuntutan tersebut belum sepenuhnya tercermin dalam praktik pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang masih didominasi oleh penggunaan buku teks terbitan Kementerian Pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek biopreneurship yang valid dan praktis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, keterampilan proses sains, dan minat wirausaha siswa SMP. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan model Four-D. Hasil validasi oleh tiga pakar ahli menunjukkan bahwa modul dan instrumen evaluasi memperoleh nilai rata-rata indeks Aiken’s V lebih dari 80%. Selain itu, respon guru dan siswa menunjukkan bahwa modul dinilai praktis dan mudah digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis proyek biopreneurship dinyatakan layak dan praktis untuk mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21 siswa.

Abstract

Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) is the most widely used surfactant in industrial detergent formulations, generating waste that poses potential risks to environmental quality and human health. As an environmentally friendly alternative, palm oil–based Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) has renewable and biodegradable properties, stability in hard water and high salinity, and a faster degradation rate than LAS. However, direct comparative studies on the biodegradation rates of LAS and MES are still limited. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the biodegradation ability of Pseudomonas putida and Bacillus megaterium toward LAS and MES in vitro using the MBAS method. The experiment employed a Completely Randomized Design with a two-factor factorial arrangement and three replications, resulting in 12 experimental units. Biodegradation rates were determined by measuring surfactant concentrations at days 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and linear regression analysis. The results showed a decrease in surfactant concentration over time in all treatments. Statistical analysis indicated no significant difference between LAS and MES biodegradation rates, but significant differences between bacterial species and their interaction with surfactant type.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems are highly dependent on surrounding water quality, which can be effectively assessed using biological indicators such as phytoplankton communities. This study aimed to analyze the water quality of the Bagek Kembar Mangrove Essential Ecosystem, West Lombok, based on phytoplankton community. The research employed a descriptive exploratory design with purposive sampling at three mangrove ecosystem types: pond area, rehabilitated mangrove, and natural mangrove. Phytoplankton samples were collected using a plankton net and analyzed for abundance, species diversity, evenness, and dominance. Physical and chemical parameters including temperature, pH, and salinity were also  study fully identified 67 species of phytoplankton with a total abundance of 2,542.5 ind/L. Merismopedia elegans was a dominant species, particularly in the pond area. Diversity indices ranged from low to moderate, evenness valuew indicated relatively stable communities, and dominance indexs showed no species dominance. These results indicated that the waters of the Bagek Kembar mangrove ecosystem are generally in good condition with mild ecological pressure influenced by anthropogenic activities. This study provides baseline ecological data to support sustainable management and conservation strategies for mangrove essential ecosystems of Bagek kembar, West Lombok.

Abstract

The utilization of pineapple peel waste as a fermentation substrate has the potential to increase product value while reducing environmental pollution. One product that can be developed from this waste is nata de pina. This study aimed to analyze the effects of Acetobacter xylinum starter concentration and fermentation time on the quality of nata de pina. The research employed a quantitative experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The treatments consisted of starter concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20%, and fermentation periods of 8, 10, and 12 days. The observed parameters included nata thickness, yield, color, and texture. Data were analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA, and Tukey's post hoc test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that starter concentration and fermentation time significantly affect the thickness and yield of nata de pina with the results showing a significant effect (p < 0.05). The highest thickness (0.78 mm) and yield (48%) were obtained at a 20% starter concentration with 12 days of fermentation. The best color and texture were produced by nata de pina fermented with a 20% starter concentration for 10 days. Furthermore, The results showed no significant interaction between starter concentration and fermentation time on nata thickness (p > 0.05), whereas a significant interaction was observed for nata yield (p < 0.05). In conclusion, increasing the concentration of A. xylinum starter and extending fermentation time improved the physical quality of nata de pina, while the combination of a 20% starter concentration and 10 days of fermentation produced the best characteristics. These findings demonstrate the potential of pineapple peel waste as a sustainable raw material for producing value-added functional food.
