Abstract

At present, most students in the world, as well as Indonesia, especially senior high school students, have used the Internet for various purposes. Internet content presented on different platforms can now be accessed easily. Consciously or not, this media content influences their behavior. There is a lot of freely submitted content, which is worth knowing the impact. The question related to this study is which internet content is often used and affects high school students' behavior. Qualitative methods with phenomenology have informants from the western, central, and eastern parts of Indonesia. Data were collected using observation, Google Forms, and interviews for the selected. It uses a sampling technique of 39 informants. The validity of the research used is source triangulation in the next stage, namely analyzing data with Milles & Huberman interactive analysis. Data analysis carried out is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Content often used is entertainment and educational content, while content that can influence behavior is entertainment, education, health, food and cuisine, religious, beauty, motivational, art, and game content. The content is accessed through various platforms such as social media: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, podcasts, etc.

Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to analyze the experiences of middle school teachers in implementing formative assessment within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.Methodology—A qualitative case study was conducted from August to October at a Middle School in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Ten Teacher Facilitators implementing the Merdeka Curriculum served as respondents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, then validated through triangulation and cross-checking. The data analysis included collection, condensation, display, and conclusion drawing.Findings – The findings indicate that teachers effectively utilized various formative assessment methods, including direct observation, quizzes, questionnaires, written tests, Q&A sessions, assignments, performance assessments, portfolios, and feedback. Feedback strategies addressed students' feelings, material reflections, and test evaluations. Students responded positively, showing acceptance, satisfaction, and increased motivation. The continuity of formative assessment improved learning activities and participation. Teachers employed engaging strategies such as feedback, self-evaluation, and peer assessment, while assessment data were utilized for result analysis, lesson planning, and differentiated learning. Despite challenges in question design, format analysis, and assessment selection, teachers recommended regular formative assessment implementation, enhanced student engagement, constructive feedback, professional competence improvement, responsiveness to student needs, and parental involvement.Significance – This study provides insights into the practical application of formative assessment in the Merdeka Curriculum, offering strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement while addressing challenges faced by educators in resource-limited contexts. Keywords: Formative assessment, Merdeka curriculum, Teaching practices, Education.

Abstract

The study aims at uncovering the factors that influence the early productivity of lecturers in writing scientific articles. The main problem under review is how the early writing experience shapes the continuity of academic productivity. In conducting the study, the qualitative approach of Grounded Theory was used with the data gathered from in-depth interviews with 18 lecturers throughout Indonesia. The research participants were purposively selected and were interviewed in stages by means of theoretical sampling. Then, the data were analyzed by using ATLAS.ti, and the data validity was tested by using method and theory triangulation. The results of the study show that publication productivity does not take place naturally but is shaped through social intervention, personal strategy, technology mastery, academic literacy, reading habit, and target stipulation. These results highlight the need to foster a supportive academic ecosystem to sustain lecturers’ writing productivity over time.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the correlation between technology utilization and language acquisition while analyzing the impact of moderating variables on this relation. Our meta-analysis approach analyzes data from 43 extracts out of 19 primary studies published between 2012 and 2021. Our data analysis employs a random-effect model utilizing a significance level of α = 0.05. Additionally, the authors examine four moderating variables: level of education, location of research, proficiency in language, and year of publication. Technology-based language acquisition outperforms traditional methods, indicating a significant and moderate impact on the learning process. This study enhances comprehension of the efficacy of technology in language acquisition by identifying various factors, such as the geographical location of research, methods of assessing language proficiency, and technology type employed. However, there is insufficient evidence to support the notion that educational level or sample size significantly impact technology-based language acquisition. This meta-analysis highlights the importance of considering nuanced factors when integrating technology into language learning. The findings emphasize the possibility of technology to transform methods of acquiring language and urge additional investigation into customized strategies that optimize its advantages.

Abstract

The use of Cryotherapy and Foam rolling methods is considered to speed up the post-exercise recovery process. However, so far there have been no studies comparing the two methods, thus the aim of this study was to compare the Cryotherapy and Foam rolling methods on performance and lactate levels in futsal athletes. This study uses an experimental method with a one-way crossover design pretest-posttest approach. The total subjects were 16 Amateur Futsal Players with an average age, 20.25 ± 1.23 years; height, 168.87 ± 2.02 cm; and weight, 54.61 ± 1.94 kg; BMI, 19.16 ± 1.01 kg/m-2. The results showed that foam rolling and cryotherapy had no effect on physical performance, but both methods could significantly reduce lactate levels. However, in this case the foam rolling method showed an improvement in the 20-meter sprint which was better than cryotherapy. Thus, the results of this study provide a recommendation for futsal athletes to use foam rolling in the post-exercise recovery process.
