Abstract

The flipped Classroom is an approach that has been often mentioned in recent years, namely a learning model in which pedagogical concepts are reversed that can reorganize students' needs to ensemble the times in the modern era. This research aimed to analyze: (1) Does Flipped Classroom have better effectiveness than the Conventional Learning Model for teaching writing?; (2) Do high-motivation students show better writing competencies than low-motivation students?; (3) Is there any relationship between the learning model and students' motivation for conducting writing subject? Institut Teknologi & Bisnis Bakti Nusantara is the research location in this quasi-experimental study. The researchers employed two classes in this study: control and experimental classes. This research has 48 students as the sample of study in which each class consists of 24 students in both classes. The writing test and motivation questionnaire were employed for collecting the data as the research instrument. Before utilizing the Tukey test to identify the significance of different pairs of group means, the researchers conducted a 2x2 Multifactor Analysis of Variance for data analysis. The research findings unraveled the mean scores of F1M1 70, F1M2 75, F2M1 68, and F2M2 69. This finding concludes that (1) Flipped Classroom offers better effectiveness than the conventional learning model to teach writing, (2) The are differences in writing scores by students who have low motivation and high motivation, (3) There are interactions of learning model and student's motivation for teaching writing. Therefore, this research is expected to provide implications for implementing Flipped Classrooms with LMS for teaching English in higher education institutions in Indonesia to encourage the improvement of the flipped-classroom learning model on a larger scale.

Abstract

Currently, the government is offering a lot of assistance, one of which is assistance and training to MSMEs regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. To get this facility, MSMEs must have a business license; one example is a Business Identification Number (NIB). This activity was conducted to answer problems and aims to introduce and increase understanding of making NIB and IUMK. The methods used are outreach, training and mentoring. Its implementation includes the delivery of theory and practice of making business legality. The result of the training was that participants' understanding of OSS, NIB and IUMK increased. Gumukmas is one of the villages in Pagelaran District, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung, which has hundreds of MSMEs registered with the Pringsewu Regency Cooperative and MSMEs Office. Realizing the importance of business licensing for MSME actors, the IBN Pringsewu service team conducted training to help residents, especially micro, small and medium enterprises, to recognize, know, and use the benefits of Business Identification Numbers for MSME actors. This activity aims to introduce what NIB and OSS are to business people in Gumukmas Village. This training focuses on making Business Identification Numbers through the OSS (Online Single Submission) Website; the practice mechanism includes data on MSME actors and data.

Abstract

Until now, Indonesia is still struggling to fight the Covid-19 virus pandemic. The number of positive cases of Covid-19 continues to increase every day. The government always urges the public to follow health protocols because that's what we all need during a pandemic. Of course stopping the spread of the Covid-19 virus will not be easy. For this reason, we are encouraged to increase body immunity so that we can fight the Covid-19 virus. One way to increase body immunity is to adopt a healthy lifestyle. To have a good body condition, a person must have a clean and healthy lifestyle. In this community service activity, the PkM IBN Pringsewu team held socialization activities for clean and healthy living behaviors and maintaining health protocols which aim to provide an understanding of the prevention of Covid-19 as well as clean and healthy living behaviors. The method used in carrying out this socialization activity is using the lecture method by going around to the residents' environment. This activity has the benefit of increasing understanding among residents about the importance of maintaining health, cleanliness, and implementing health protocols in preventing Covid-19. Abstract

Sebanyak apapun keberadaan perangkat keras dan lunak yang dimiliki oleh suatu instansi seperti bentuk jaringan data, server hingga aplikasi yang bernilai milyaran rupiah, hanyalah bagian yang kurang begitu penting dari sebuah lingkungan. Di zaman sekarang yang sudah modern ini untuk memenuhi administrasi pemerintahan desa  diperlukan pola pikir yang berbeda dengan yang dahulu kita dituntut untuk bisa memutar otak, serta kreatif dalam meningkatkan tata kelola desa dengan menggunakan tata kelola berbasis IT dari hal tersebut maka ada hal yang berbeda sebagai kaum milenial dengan cara manusia zaman 2000an . Banyak masyarakat yang berpendidikan tinggi perlu persaingan dalam menggunakan IT dalam mengatur tata kelola desa sebagai wujud penerimaan perkembangan teknologi yang sangat bertambah maju seiring waktu yang digunakan. Dari hal tersebut sebagai manusia modern dituntut untuk mengubah cara dalam mengelola desa dengan pemanfaatan IT dari berbagai bidang salah satunya dalam ruang lingkup bidang pemerintahan desa di Pekon Totokarto kec. Abstract

Video conferencing has become an essential tool in the realm of education, offering educators a plethora of features to enhance student learning. This study delved into the comparative impact of video conferencing and Learning Management Systems (LMS) on student engagement in online education. The primary objective was to discern the most effective mode of communication for fostering student engagement in online learning, examining cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of engagement. The researchers used a quasi-experimental design with a historical cohort control group to compare the effectiveness of Zoom and Moodle (LMS) on student engagement. The study involved English education students from a private university in Indonesia, with 20 students in each group. Data collection included recording online interactions, conducting semi-structured interviews, and administering a Likert-style survey. Data analysis involved content analysis, thematic analysis, and the Mann-Whitney U test. The findings underscored the advantages of utilizing Zoom, particularly in nurturing interpersonal relationships among students. Notably, the platform enhanced intimacy and interactivity within the learning environment, bolstering students' intrinsic motivation. Moreover, indicators such as creativity and idea exchange pointed towards heightened cognitive engagement facilitated by Zoom. Additionally, Zoom emerged as a practical tool for fostering social interaction and stimulating higher-order thinking during discussions. Consequently, these results provide compelling evidence supporting the integration of Zoom to enrich learning experiences and promote deeper engagement among students, both practically and theoretically.

Abstract

Educators and education staff have the same role and task, namely carrying out various activities that lead to the creation of convenience and success for students in learning. The role of educators in facilitating school administration is very important because they have great duties and responsibilities for the smooth running of teaching and learning activities in schools. Every school requires skilled, reliable educators, and understand the job description. The formulation of the problem in this paper is first, what is included in school administration? Second, what is the role of education personnel in school administration? The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of the concept of school administration and the professional ethics of education personnel in school administration. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection techniques by taking data in the library, reading, taking notes, and processing research material. Based on the results of the data analysis, several conclusions were found as follows regarding matters covered in school administration, namely 1. Curriculum Administration, 2. Student Administration, 3. Infrastructure Administration, 4. Financial Administration and 5. Public Relations Administration. The role of education personnel in school administration is to play an active role in quality service efforts, and the formation of professional human resources in the field of school development and administration. Abstract

This research explored the students’ perceptions of self-efficacy in reciprocal teaching. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The research participants of this research were XI MIA 1 class. The subjects were 11 representatives of the students as the interviewees. It was chosen based on observation, genre, and the score of the reading test. The data were taken from the observation and interview. The results showed language problems were the main aspects that influenced the students to have low self-efficacy while performing the four instructional strategies of reciprocal teaching. This suggests teachers should guide and control students in teaching reading process through reciprocal teaching because they play a prominent role in alleviating and controlling students’ self-efficacy.

Abstract

Anxiety is the most dominant of psychological problem that faced by students in learning speaking. This study focused on analysis of making a vlog to minimize public speaks anxiety among EFL students. This study answer the following question, “How does video blog minimize public speak anxiety among EFL students?” Descriptive qualitative method as simply observing a behavior was used in this study. Frist-semester students of Institut Bakti nusantara were the participants of this study which consist of 10 students, majoring in Information system. There were two ways for collecting data, namely: observations and inteview. They were assigned to make a video of speaking performance on a topic “Advertisement”. The result could be concluded that making video blog is useful to minimize public speak anxiety among EFL student. Besides that, a vlog is considered as one of useful stategy which can provide students motivation for being confidence in public speaking. Futhermore, creating a vlog can give enjoyable and attractive learning atmosphere and students will feel more comfortable, relaxed, and motivated to practice their speaking skill. Even though a vlog has been proven to reduce anxiety levels, there are several things that must be considered when using a vlog as a media for learning speaking. Lecturers are expected to be more creative and innovative in order to make students become more interested in speaking English. Lectures always know students’ speaking anxiety level and students’ condition in learning speaking due to not all of students have the same characteristics to be able to accept all types of media.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of using Zoom as a learning platform on the English-speaking proficiency of undergraduate students. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, comparing an experimental group that attended English-speaking classes via Zoom with a control group that participated in traditional face-to-face instruction. The participants were 60 undergraduate students from Institut Bakti Nusantara in Lampung, Indonesia, selected using a purposive sampling technique to ensure similar baseline English proficiency levels. The primary instrument for assessing speaking proficiency was a standardized oral examination administered as both a pre-test and post-test. Data collection included these tests and supplementary surveys and semi-structured interviews to capture students' experiences and perceptions. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to evaluate improvements within and between groups. Qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results revealed significant improvements in speaking proficiency for both groups, with the Zoom-based group showing a significantly higher improvement than the control group. These findings suggest that Zoom's interactive features and flexibility can effectively enhance English-speaking skills. The study implies that digital platforms like Zoom can be integrated into English language teaching to create more engaging and supportive learning environments, promoting speaking proficiency. Future research could explore the impact of such platforms on other language skills and across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Abstract Technological developments are currently widely used for the learning teaching process. It cannot be denied that speaking is the most crucial skill among three others skill in English. Improving speaking skills will help people to talk easily to each other and reduce misunderstandings in communicating with others. Learning through vlog media can be one of the most effective; this is very good where current students must be very familiar with technology. This study focused on students' perception of the learning process for their speaking skills using vlog as learning media. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The participants of the research were second-semester students of Institut Bakti Nusantara which consist of 10 students. Moreover, in achieving this research, the researcher used two types for data collections; that is interview and observation. The results of this research are vlog can make them more confident and improve their motivation to learn English, especially to speak English. Creating vlog increased students' self-confidence because it eliminated worry or fear of making mistakes when speaking English. The students felt free to talk because they didn't think anyone was watching and judging them. They are also motivated because this platform is familiar to them. Students also said that making a video vlog can improve their creativity.
