Abstract

The 2013 curriculum requires learners to be able to think of high levels or HOTS that suit the needs of competence in the 21st century. Based on the results of the study stated if, the ranking of learners in Indonesia is still relatively low because learners are still weak in solving problems that require reasoning and analysis. So it can be concluded that the purpose of this research is to develop HOTS-based SPLSV problems in SMP / MTs that are valid, practical, and effective. This research is a research development (research and development). The test subjects in this study were class VII students at MTS I Attanwir, with a population of 40 students, and to focus the data, selected 3 students who represented from high, medium, and low abilities. The analysis used in this study is a test of validity by expert material, validity of the problem, differentiating power, difficulty level, rehabilitation test, and t-test testing. The results of the study suggest that a set of SPLSV problem instruments can be used to train high-level thinking skills in learners.

Abstract

Learning integral calculus should be done with interesting and fun process, because this course is basic materials and a prerequisite for other subjects as well as the provision of teaching materials for high school students. However, based on the documentation that have done in one of the private universities in Lamongan in the last two years shows that the average score of student results in mathematics education and mathematics subjects integral calculus has only reached 42%. This suggests that the results of student learning especially integral calculus courses still low. One effort that can be done is to develop teaching materials based animation. Media animation that comes with the animations, audio, and video in teaching and learning can grow the interest of learners. Based on these descriptions, this study aims to develop teaching materials integral calculus-based animation. This study uses a study design development consists of four stages, namely: (1) definition, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) dissemination. The end product of this research is animation-based teaching media for the course of integral calculus.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of learning with abductive-deductive strategy towards the achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities of high school students. Research carried out an experimental pretest-posttest design and the control group was not randomized in class XI student at one high school in Pati, Central Java, Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted quantitative research based on early mathematical ability categories (KAM) and overall. The results showed that the achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning abductive-deductive strategy better than students who received the expository learning. In more detail of KAM categories, only middle category that show achievement of mathematical reasoning abilities better. While in upper and under categories have the same reasoning abilities achievements. This research is expected teachers can encourage students to do abduction and deduction in the learning achievement of students’ mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

Student learning achievement in Indonesia is low, this is because there are still many students who experience difficulties in learning geometry. To overcome these problems a way is needed so that students can understand concepts meaningfully and have good geometrical reasoning. This is certainly related to the appropriate learning model to be used in the learning process. One model of learning that can be used is a problem-based learning model. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability to understand the concepts and geometric reasoning of students who acquired a problem-based learning model compared with students who received conventional learning on quadrilateral material in class VII MTs. Tanwiriyah Kalisari. The research method used is quantitative with quasi-experimental research design. The results of the study showed that the ability to understand the concept of students who obtained a problem-based learning model was better than the ability to understand the concept of students who obtained conventional learning models. as well as the geometric reasoning abilities of students who acquired a better masculine learning model compared to the geometric reasoning abilities of students who acquired the conventional learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the proportional reasoning ability of junior high school level students in solving math problems between male and female students on the opportunity material. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII who were selected through the purposive sampling technique. Data collection methods are tests and interviews. The instruments used were the math ability test (TKM), proportional reasoning test (TPP) and interviews. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The validity of the data was tested by means of triangulation. The results showed that in the opportunity material, the male student subject was able to reach the entire level stage and fulfil the characteristics of proportional reasoning, while the female student subject was only able to reach level 1, while at level 2, the subject was unable to recognize the problem situation given was a proportional situation, at levels 3, 4 and 5 are unable to use multiplicative strategies so that they do not fulfil the characteristics of proportional reasoning. The research results are expected to be considered in determining learning strategies so that students master mathematical competencies optimally.

Abstract

The poor problem solving abilities of students is still a scourge in mathematics learning, mainly in terms of solving mathematical story problems. This is because in the case of story problems, students are required to understand the information and the questions in mathematical problems at the beginning in order to create a mathematical model which reflects the problem being solved. This study aimed to examine the achievement and improvement of students’ abilities in solving mathematical story problems about arithmetic sequences and series using LAPS-Heuristic learning model. The study method was the Intact-Group Comparison. The subjects were 43 students who were divided into two groups. The first group received conventional learning, while the other group received LAPS-Heuristic learning. The results showed that both achievement and improvement of students’ abilities in solving mathematical story problems who received LAPS-Heuristic learning model were better than in students’ abilities who received conventional learning.

Abstract

This research aims to explain and identify students' creative thinking skills in solving story problems on fractional material based on gender. This research method is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were grade VII students of MTs Ma'arif Sungegeneng which included male students with high thinking ability (SPT), female students with high thinking ability (SWT), male students with moderate thinking ability (SPS), female students with moderate thinking ability. (SWS), male students with low thinking ability (SPR), female students with low thinking ability (SWR). High, medium, low skills were determined based on the results of written tests and interviews. The method of collecting information is by giving questions consisting of 3 story questions about fractions and interviews. The results of the analysis show that the creative thinking skills of male and female students are different, where female students have superior creative thinking skills than male students.

Abstract

At this time, a lot of news about unemployment of higher education graduates became a special concern for the campus as the organizer. The solutions adopted include entrepreneurship education programs for students and graduates. But often entrepreneurship education programs that are carried out are not continuous and sporadic in order to obtain less optimal results. The entrepreneurship development program aims to provide entrepreneurship guidance for students and alumni of Universitas Islam Darul Ulum by prioritizing the concept of sustainable training and coaching and adjusting tenant issues. This program uses a three-phase of Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) approach, namely awareness, entrepreneurship capacity building, and institutionalization. The results were obtained that this program provided improvements in tenant management, produced science and technology-based products and formed cooperation with related parties.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is one of the important literacies that children need to have. However, there are many findings that show the low level of scientific literacy in Indonesian children. "Panggon Moco" is one of the reading park communities (TBM) which was formed due to the community’s concern for the success of the literacy program. Until now, the literacy developed by this community is still limited to reading literacy. Therefore, it is necessary to develop other literacy such as scientific literacy. To answer this challenge, it is necessary to carry out a scientific literacy activities for children in the Panggon Moco community. A learning approach that has been proven to improve scientific literacy in children is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics). The method of implementing this program includes several activities, namely (1) discussion and equalization of perceptions; (2) making Fun STEAM Lab books; (3) the STEAM experiment; and (4) STEAM literacy assistance. This activity is carried out offline and online. The results obtained from this program are increasing children's understanding of STEAM and increasing students' interest and motivation in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manakah yang lebih baik antara kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Bsed Learning (PBL) dan Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) dalam pembelajaran segiempat kelas VII di MTs. Nurul Huda Sawo tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain nonequivalent control group. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 20 siswa kelas PBL dan 20 siswa kelas IBL yang diperoleh dengan teknik cluster random sampling pada siswa kelas VII MTs. Nurul Huda Sawo. Pengumpulan data kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa diperoleh dari soal tes matematika. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test dan uji Mann-withney untuk data yang tidak normal atau tidak homogen dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 5%. Hasil analisis data menunjukan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL lebih baik daripada IBL. Dengan skor rata-rata kelas PBL 82,85 dan skor rata-rata kelas IBL 79,30. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL lebih baik daripada IBL. Dengan skor rata-rata kelas PBL 64,15 dan skor rata-rata kelas IBL 61,30.
