Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model of TPS type with the rubbik props to the students' self efficacy on the material of cube and beam grade VIII MTs Putra-Putri Simo in the academic year 2016/2017. Data collection techniques used were observations in mathematics learning. Data analysis in this research by using difference test mean. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the samples are nomal and homogeny distributed, and there is influence of cooperative learning model of TPS type with the rubbik props to student self efficacy.

Abstract

Reasoning ability and mathematical disposition are cognitive and affective abilities which require impovements. This study aims to examine the interaction between students’ early mathematical ability and instructions in improving their reasoning ability and mathematical disposition. This research implemented abductive-deductive strategy and expository learning at the 11th grade classes of a state senior high school in Pati regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The researcher carried out a nonrandomized experimental-control group with pretest-posttest design. Quantitative analysis based on early mathematical ability (high, medium, low) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the interaction between early mathematical ability and learning gave significant impact in improving the students’ reasoning ability. However, the interaction between early mathematical ability and learning gave no significant impact in improving the students’ mathematical disposition. These findings indicated that in learning, especially in improving reasoning ability, students’ early mathematical ability need to be considered. Yet, to improve mathematical disposition, students’ early mathematical ability gave no significant effect thus further studies to find out the influence of other factors need to be done.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' difficulties in conveying a concept. This is because the role of mathematics as a symbolic language that allows the realization of communication accurately and precisely. The purpose of this research is to find out the difference and which is better between Inside OutsideCircle (IOC) cooperative learning model using CBC media (Cube Beam Color) to improve students' mathematical communication skills on the subject of cubes and beams in class VIII MTs Islamiyah Tulungagung. This research is quantitative research, with this research method Quasy Experimental and research design The Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were 46 students consisting of 24 experimental group students and 22 control group students obtained by Cluster Random Sampling technique in class VIII. The instrument was given in the form of a description test consisting of 3 questions and an interview. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the experimental class was better than the control class. This result can be seen from after the N-gain test is obtained t_table = 2.015> t_count = 31.298, thus is rejected and is accepted. Obtained an average value of learning outcomes has increased for the experimental class of 70.12% in the high category while the control class is 53.43% in the medium category. The results of the t-test statistical analysis pretest obtained result is 0.798> 0.05, which means there is no significant difference between the mathematical communication skills of experimental class students and control class students, whereas the posttest results obtained is 0.003≤0.05, thus, is rejected and is accepted which means there are significant differences in communication skills between the experimental and control classes, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the mathematical communication skills taught using the Inside Outside Circle Learning Model using CBC media (Cube Beam Color)with students taught using conversion learning on the subject of cubes and beams.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulty and the provision of appropriate scaffolding used by students in solving addition and subtraction problems with the Jarimatic method. As for the difficulties of students analyzed in the form of fact errors, operational errors, and principle errors as well as the form of scaffolding conducted, namely explaining, reviewing, and restructuring. The subjects in this study were 32 first grade students at SDN Sumurber. The instruments in the study were written tests and interviews. The results of this study are (1) errors of fact students still have difficulty in operating fingers, (2) errors of operation where there are still many students who still have difficulty in calculating addition and subtraction operations, (3) and principle errors occur in some more students likes to count with chimera and haste. Scafolding provided includes explaining, reviewing, and restructuring.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical reasoning in solving problems in cube and beam material in terms of independent and dependent field cognitive styles. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method is carried out by the test and questionnaire method. The study was conducted by giving 2 written test items about solving cube and beam problems as well as a questionnaire of independent and field dependent cognitive style tests at the beginning and end of the study. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of the study show: (1) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with independent field cognitive style on cube and beam material are able to pass 4 indicators better than students with field dependent cognitive style; (2) the test results of students' mathematical reasoning questions with the field dependent cognitive style on the cube and beam material are only able to go through 2 lower indicators than students with independent field cognitive style.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes of student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence and sequence problem through the learning model LAPS Heuristic assisted by Whatsapp messenger. this type of research is an esperiment with a quantitative approach. Data collection method is done by the method of test and questionnaire. The study was conducted by giving 4 items of pretest and posttest regarding the settlement of row and series problems and a mathematical disposition questionnaire at the beginning and end of the study. The data analysis echnique used is the normaity test, the homogeneity test and the average difference test. Theresult of the study indicate: (1) there are differences in the achievement of learning outcomes and student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence questions and sequencesthrough learning LAPS Heuristic of Whatsapp assisted with conventional learning; (2) there is a difference in the improvement of learning outcomes and the mathematical disposition of students in solving story sequence questions and sequence through the learning model assisted by the whatsapp application.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengetahui profil kemampuan penalaran induktif yang dapat diperoleh sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa. Kemampuan penalaran induktif siswa perlu dikembangkan untuk memberikan pengalaman dalam membuktikan suatu teorema yang sering ditemukan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas X MA Sunan Ampel Kebet Lamongan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal tes dan wawancara. Pengolahan data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk menjelaskan jawaban, siswa masih menggunakan argument mereka sendiri. Untuk generalisasi rumus, siswa dapat menemukan rumus umum dan belum mampu menemukan jawaban akhir. Siswa belum mampu menjelaskan kembali maksud dari masalah tersebut dengan lengkap, baik informasi yang diberikan dan yang ditanyakan pada soal. Tetapi, siswa mampu membandingkan kesesuaian informasi yang diperoleh dengan pengetahuan yang dimiliki sebelumnya.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills and learning independence of students at Nurul Ummah Sukomalot Integrated Middle School. Teachers mostly use the lecture method when learning takes place. Efforts made to overcome these problems are by applying a Problem Based Learning Model. Based on research that has been conducted at SMP Terpadu Nurul Ummah Sukomalo, this study used a test aid to determine the data results from the students' conceptual understanding ability. Based on data analysis, it can be seen that the sig value in the normality test of critical thinking skills is sig> α then H_0 is accepted, where H_0: The sample from the population is normally distributed. In the hypothesis test, the pretest T_Hitung obtained 37.137, with 20 degrees of freedom, then the posttest T_Hitung obtained 134.240, with 20 degrees of freedom.Based on the determination of the conclusion, that is if T_Tabel <T_Hitung <T_Tabel, where T_Tabel is obtained from the t distribution list with α = 0.05 then H_0 is accepted and H_1 is rejected, so that from the t-test results there are differences in critical thinking skills before treatment and after treatment. Furthermore, in the N Gain test phase, the n gain value obtained was 0.621221424 with the criteria seen from the criteria table 0.3≤g≤0.7 showing the value of n gain for the critical thinking ability in the moderate category. The sig value on the normality test of learning independence is siper> α then H_0 is accepted, where H_0: The sample from the population is normally distributed. Whereas in the hypothesis test, the pretest T_Hitung obtained 20.452, with 20 degrees of freedom, then the posttest T_Hitung obtained 28.407, with 20 degrees of freedom. So that from the t-test results there are differences in student learning independence before treatment and after treatment. The results of the N Gain test on learning independence obtained 0.360068307 where the gain value is less ≤ 0.7 where 0.3≤g≤0.7 with the moderate category

Abstract

Abstract. Online learning is a technology learning model to complement face-to-face (direct) learning. It is hoped that students can still understand what the teacher says even though it is through online media. Learning challenges are a challenge for teachers so that the material can be conveyed properly, especially in the ability of students' mathematical problems. Mathematical problem skills are very useful for students, not only in solving math problems but also solving problems in everyday life. Problem ability is not something that is easily found by students so that students must train to develop this ability. For the ability to develop this, the learning process and strategy that is applied must be able to help understand the problem, plan for problem solving, find solutions and be able to conclude from solving the problem. One learning approach that can make students active in learning is the contextual approach. This experimental research aims to see the effectiveness of bold learning with a contextual approach to students' mathematical problem abilities. This study used a posttest only control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII MTs. Son and Daughter of Simo in the 2020/2021 school year. Through probability sampling techniques, classes VIII D and VIII G were selected as research samples. The research data were obtained from the mathematical problem ability test. The results showed that the most effective level in dealing with mathematical problems of students with a bold learning model with a contextual approach strategy was better than conventional learning. Keywords: Mathematical problem solving abilities, contextual approach, online learning. Abstrak. Pembelajaran daring atau online adalah salah satu model pembelajaran berteknologi untuk melengkapi pembelajaran tatap muka (langsung). Diharapkan siswa masih bisa memahami apa yang disampaikan oleh guru walaupun melalui media online. Pembelajaran daring menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi guru agar materi bisa tersampaikan dengan baik utamanya dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sangat berguna bagi siswa, tidak hanya dalam memecahkan masalah matematika tapi juga memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah bukan merupakan suatu hal yang mudah didapati oleh siswa sehingga siswa harus melatih untuk mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut. Untuk mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut, maka proses dan strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan haruslah dapat membantu siswa memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian masalah, menemukan solusi dan dapat menarik kesimpulan dari penyelesaian masalah tersebut. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat membuat siswa aktif dalam pembelajaran adalah pendekatan kontekstual. Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran daring dengan pendekatan kontekstual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs. Putra-Putri Simo tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Melalui teknik probability sampling terpilih kelas VIII D dan VIII G sebagai sampel penelitian. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat efektivitas kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa model pembelajaran daring dengan strategi pendekatan kontekstual lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, pendekatan kontekstual, pembelajaran daring.
