Abstract

In this study, C-Hook construction analysis with SWL capacity of 30 tons will be conducted by comparing AISI 1020, ST-52 DIN 17100, ASTM A572, materials to determine the strength of CHook structure. The analysis process will use FEM (fenite element methods) approach using FEMbased software. The validity of the simulation results is carried out on the value of the result of the von misses voltage, and deflection. Validation of simulation results is done by manual calculation. The load used is 30 tons. From the results of the analysis it is known that the voltage that occurs in the loading of 30 tons in AISI 1020 material is 164,23062 Mpa, the voltage that occurs in the loading of 30 tons in ASTM A572 material is 164,32478 Mpa, and the voltage that occurs in the loading of 30 tons in the material ST52 DIN 17100 is 164,32195 Mpa. The results of the deflection analysis that occurred in the material AISI 1020 is 10,497 mm, the analysis of deflections that occurred in ASTM A572 materials is 10,695 mm, and the results of the deflection analysis that occurred in the material ST52 DIN 17100 is 10,252 mm. From the results of deflection analysis on all three materials are still below the limit, so the construction of C-Hook can be said to be safe. Based on the results of the design that has been done, it can be concluded that the material ST52 DIN17100, is the best choice and has high security to produce C-Hook.

Abstract

Electrical energy is an important source of energy for the people of Indonesia because electrical energy is always used in industrial activities and daily life. Indonesia's power generation capacity has increased by almost 15 Giga Watt (GW) to 69.6 Giga Watt (GW) from 54.7 to 69.6 Giga Watt (GW) in the Turbine last five years. This need will continue to grow because fossil raw materials will gradually be eroded. One of the efforts to utilize energy is the renewable energy of the Picohydro Power Plant which utilizes the flow of the river or sea currents as renewable energy. This research is to design a Gorlov Model Blade mold with fiberglass using the Hand Lay Up method. In the process using the Reverse Engineering method to compare the 3 Manufacturing Processes for making the Gorlov model turbine blade mold. In this study, the first process concept was chosen because the price is cheaper, the process is easy and fast, and has a lighter weight than the existing product. The results of the Gorlov Model Blade Turbine performance test on a river flow with an average speed of 1.59 m/s and a river depth of 300 mm resulted in Blade 732.28 Rpm and produced 3.2 Volts. From these data, it can be said that the turbine can work according to its function. Total Cost of Production (HPP) Rp. 5.570.350.

Abstract

To produce commercial products must meet certain criteria or standards. Therefore, the facilities and infrastructure in the PPNS workshop are required to be able to work on products that meet standards. One example of standard workmanship is roughness. Some products are required to have a small roughness value. However, when working on a workpiece on a conventional lathe, the roughness value is still relatively large. To achieve the least roughness required further work on the grinding machine. Therefore a grinding attachment tool is needed that can be installed on a lathe without switching to a grinding machine and can produce a small roughness value. In this study using the Ulrich method. Based on the identification of needs, several concept designs were made then the best concept was selected by considering 5 aspects including function, geometry, fabrication, maintenance, and cost. The best concept chosen is concept 3. Design using Autodesk Fusion 360 and AutoCAD software. then carried out fabrication and testing. In testing this tool produces an average roughness value of 1.627 µm or N7. The total cost of making is around 2 million.

Abstract

One of the strategies to accelerate economic in facing global competition is to improve the development through community empowerment efforts in various fields of life through the implementation of appropriate technology. The oyster mushroom cultivation food industry sector also got the influence of technology. The use of technology in the food industry is one of the solution to meet the needs of oyster mushrooms in society. Therefore a machine is needed that can help the process of cultivating mushrooms, of which are still in the micro and small business category. Filling and pressing machines for mushroom growing media are expected to accelerate and increase the productivity of farmers. The production speed and worker effectiveness can be increased through two work processes in one machine. Integrated design method is used in designing and manufacturing the machine. The selection of the AC motor driving concept and only using the mechanical motion of the screw conveyor to fill and the crank slider to compact the planting media on the machine aims to avoid damaging the composition of the mixture. With the design of filling and pressing machines, it is expected that the mushroom growing media can meet the standard criteria for planting media, namely a height of between 21 to 22 centimeters and weighing between 1.3 to 1.4 kilograms.

Abstract

Fruit skin as a leftover ingredient that is abundant and in general has not been widely used. The general public does not yet know the benefits of passion fruit skin. One of them can be used as jam, by smoothing it first using a blender. Due to the hard nature of passion fruit skin, the knife orblender becomes damaged. Therefore, a passion fruit skin grater was designed. The method used by the author is the Ulrich method by selecting several design concepts, designing aided by CAD software for making drawings, fabrication, assembling machine components, and testing tools todetermine the production results of the machine. There are various types of materials used in the manufacture of passion fruit leather grater machines, starting from the frame and engine mount using L profiles with ASTM A36 material, grating cover and hopper using SS 304 material, pulley cover using aluminum material, the shaft on this machine uses S45C material, and wear 1 V-belt with rubber material. This machine uses a 1 HP 1 phase electric motor. After being tested, it was produced grated passion fruit skin with an average fiber dimension ± 0.5 cm.This passion fruit grater machine has a capacity of 3 kg / hour.

Abstract

TRUMPF TrumaBend V85S CNC Bending Machine can be used to get good bending results. But in every bending process there are several problems encountered, one of which is springback. Springback can be influenced by several parameters such as material thickness, compressive force, and bending angle, and the radius. Springback can be avoided by examining which parameters have the greatest influence. One way to improve the quality of bending products from springback is by parameter optimization. Parameter optimization is a technique used in the manufacturing process to produce the best products. Optimization of compressive force, angle, and radius parameters is done to optimize the value that can have a major effect on springback and which parameters are most influential. Design experiments using Box-Behnken with ANOVA to analyze data and performed using the Response Surface method. The results showed that the radius parameter was the only one that affected the ST37 material springback. While the optimum parameter obtained a compressive force of 500 KN, an angle of 120°, and a radius of 3 mm with a springback result of 130,28°.

Abstract

This journal is made to optimize a machine paramater on CNC turning steel of roundness hole surface. This turning technique that we use is boring by using carbide insert tool. The Parameter itself consists of Spindle Speed, Feed Rate and Depth of Cut. The material that use here is Steel 41 with 50 mm diameter, 30 mm length and 25 mm for diameter hole. Taguchi method has choosen to be used of this design experiment and also the calculation. To predict the optimum parameter on the roundness surface we use the Anova method on Software Minitab17. It will produce the optimum parameter that is Spindle Speed 900 rpm, Feed Rate 0,08 mm and the Depth of Cut 0,2 mm. Confirmation experiment is needed to prove that the prediction could produce the accuration of minimize the roundness surfaces value.

Abstract

Geopolymer are solid inorganic polymers produced from a chemical reaction called geopolymerization, which occurs between an alkaline solution and an aluminosilicate source. Geopolymers have been widely studied due to their known compressive strength resistance. This study aims to determine the optimal geopolymer composition for achieving compressive strength resistance. The compressive strength of geopolymers is determined by identifying the highest compressive strength value obtained from a compression test. In this study, variations in raw materials were explored, including Metakaolin at levels of 100%, 90%, 80%,70%,and 60%, Silica Fume at levels of 20%, 30%, and 40%, along with 10% Aluminium Hydroxide. The activator solutions used were Water Glass and KOH solution. The primary test conducted in this study was a compressive strength test aimed at evaluating the geopolymers strength. The results demonstrated that employing a composition of 90% Metakaolin and 10% Aluminium Hydroxide yielded the most favorable outcome. This particular composition exhibited a high compressive strength value of 40,8 MPa, with a standard deviation of ± 1,0 MPa.

Abstract

Spot welding technique is one of the most important parts in the train manufacturing process, especially in the plate working stage for the train carbody. This research aims to see the parameters that affect the tensile strength of the spot welding results using the Taguchi Method on SUS 304 2 mm and DIN 1.4003 3 mm welding joints. The parameter variations performed in this Taguchi Method are current strength, welding time, and electrode diameter. While the control level used is 2 levels on Strong Current 10.5 kA and 11 kA, Welding Time 20 cycles and 25 cycles, and Electrode Diameter 6.5 mm and 12 mm. The results obtained after analyzing and processing the data are the most influential parameters, namely strong current, followed by welding time, and the smallest influence is the electrode diameter. The results of the optimum parameter combination in this study are Current Strength 11 kA, Welding Time 25 cycles, and Electrode Diameter 11 mm. The combination of these parameters has been proven in confirmation of experiments with the Taguchi Method at a confidence level of 95% in the interval of confirmation experiments.

Abstract

The dimensional accuracy of the workpiece might be impacted by geometric variations that machines frequently experience. The geometric shape of the workpiece as a result of the machining process can be used to quantify machine quality and can take the form of cylindricality, smoothness, roundness, and other geometric shapes. The results of the workpiece surface's cylindricality will depend on machining parameters such engine rotation, feed speed, and feed depth. For the design of the research experiment and the data analysis, this study employs the Box Behnken Design in Response Surface Method that is figuring out the trial variation using 3 stages. The specimen used was ST 42 steel, and a DNMG 150404 carbide insert tool was used on a Pinacho L-1/260 conventional lathe to perform a total of 15 experimental modifications on the specimen. Furthermore, the cylindricity test was carried out using a dial indicator. The research results on the effect of parameters on surface cylindricity, namely engine speed with a Pvalue of 0.068, depth of feed with a Pvalue of 0.784, and feed speed with a Pvalue of 0.839, the three parameters were declared not to have a significant effect. The engine rotation parameter provides a contribution effect of 26.87%, the depth of feed is 0.52% and the feed speed is 0.28%.
