Abstract

Gelugur leaf (Garcinia atroviridis Griff ex T. Anderson) is a kind of nadir is believed to origanate from the wild forest of Peninsular Malaysia. Gelugur leaves have antidiarrheal compounds in the shapes of tannins and flavonoids to reduce diarrhea. The purpose of this study was to find out the antidiarrheal activity of the ethanolic extract of gelugur leaf in white male rats. The antidiarrheal effect was tested on 15 white male rats with 5 treatment groups, namely, a negative control group of 1% CMC Na, a positive control group of loperamidee hcl, and a treatment group of ethanol extract of gelugur leaves at a dose of 150 miligrams/kgBW, a dose of 300 miligrams/kgBW, and 600 miligrams/kg body weight. Each group was given oral treatment and observations were made on the onset of diarrhea, frequency of diarrhea, and stool consistency. Tests were carried out using an experimental method. The ethanol extract of gelugur leaves was made by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The results of the study on the onset of diarrhea were EEDG 600 miligrams/kgBB (60 minutes), a good decrease in diarrhea frequency was indicated by EEDG 600 miligrams/kgBB (4 times), a good decrease in stool weight was shown by EEDG 600 miligrams/ kgBB (0,7757 grams), good consistency was also shown in the EEDG 600 miligrams/kgBB (soft stools. The data were statistically analyzed using One Way Anova. The results of data analysis from the three EEDG groups affected the decrease in diarrhea because the sig value <0.05 Based on One Way Anova analysis, the five most effective treatments were loperamidee, 600 miligrams/kgBB, EEDG at 300 miligrams/kgBB, EEDG at 150 miligrams/kgBB, and CMC Na 1%. The conclusion in this study is that EEDG 600 miligrams/kgBB has antidiarrheal activity induced by oleum recini when compared with EEDG concentrations of 150 miligrams/kgBB and 300 miligrams/kgBB.

Abstract

Manila sapodilla leaves contain phytochemical mixtures of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, terpenoids and glycosides which are known to have antibacterial movement of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The reason for this study was whether the planning of sapodilla leaf extricate salve can be utilized as an enemy of bacterial technique. Abstract

Patient satisfaction is the main key to the success of services that affect satisfaction in pharmaceutical services. If the service is in accordance with expectations, of course the quality of service is considered good and satisfying, on the other hand, the service received is not satisfactory, the quality of service is considered bad. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy to the satisfaction of outpatients at the general hospital in Sembiring. This type of research used mix methods with cross sectional design in quantitative research and sequential explanatory strategies in qualitative research. The total population of 336 people, with a sample size of 73 people obtained using purposive sampling. Collecting data in quantitative research by distributing questionnaires while in qualitative research by means of indept interviews. The results showed that variables related to outpatient satisfaction at Grandmed Hospital were: physical evidence (p value = 0.002), reliability (p value = 0.012), responsiveness (p value = 0.003), assurance (p value = 0.010), and Empathy (p value = 0.000). It is recommended to the Grandmed Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy to maintain the good quality of service and continue to improve the quality of service to patients.

Abstract

Background: Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a complex pathogenesis, involving sebaceous glands, follicular hyperkeratosis, bacterial overgrowth, immune and inflammatory responses. Objective: This formulate the ethanol extract of banana peel and pineapple peel into cream preparations and to test the effective antibacterial activity of the combination of banana peel and pineapple peel ethanol extract cream against Propionibacterium acnes. Methods: This research was conducted experimentally with maceration extraction using 70% ethanol as solvent. Acne cream is made with a concentration ratio between (Banana peel: Pineapple peel) namely F1 (Cream Base), F2 (5%:15%), F3 (7.5%:12.5%), F4 (10%:10% ), F5 (12.5%:7.5%), F6 (15%;5%), F7 (20%:0%) and F8 (0%;20%). Then, the physical stability test was carried out in the form of organoleptic test, viscosity test, pH test, homogeneity test, spreadability test and cream type test. Followed by testing the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes in Na media. Results: The antibacterial activity test on F3 showed that the diameter of 20.18 mm was relatively larger than F1 of 0mm, F2 of 18.63 mm, F4 of 18.38 mm, F5 of 16.48 mm, F6 of 18.28 mm, F7 of 13.91 mm and The F8 is 16.11 mm. Conclusion: Cream preparations from formula 1 to formula 8 the cream stability organoleptic test, viscosity test, pH test, homogeneity test, test spreadability and cream type test. The cream preparation in formula 3 has the widest diameter for antibacterial activity compared to other formulas.

Abstract

Hipertensi atau tekanan darah tinggi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang cukup dominan di negara berkembang bahkan di negara maju termasuk di Puskesmas Dolat Rayat. Namun salah satu penatalaksanaan terhadap hipertensi yang dapat digunakan sebagai terapi non-farmakologis yaitu mengkonsumsi kombinasi jus buah bit dan nanas yang cukup mudah ditemukan di pasar tradisional kecamatan dolat rayat. Kombinasi jus ini mengandung kalium yang dapat menurunkan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan One group Pretest-Posttest Design dengan subjek 14 orang penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Dolat Rayat di Kecamatan Dolat Rayat Kabupaten Karo. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu spygmomanometer dan stetoskop. Analisis data bivariate dalam penelitian ini yaitu uji Wilcoxon. Berdasarkan analisa data yang dilakukan, diperoleh nilai p = 0.003 (p 0.05) artinya terdapat perbedaan tekanan darah yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian jus kombinasi buah bit dan nanas terhadap penderita hipertensi. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh antara pemberian kombinasi jus buah bit dan nanas terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Dolat Rayat Kecamatan Dolat Rayat Kabupaten Karo. Saran : Memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tekanan darah seperti diet, aktivitas, istirahat dan lain-lain

Abstract

Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik yang disebabkan oleh gagalnya organ pankreas dalam memproduksi hormon insulin secara memadai. Terapi farmakologi diabetes melitus saat ini masih terbatas pada penggunaan obat-obatan seperti hipoglikemik oral (OHO) dan masyarakat yang menderita diabetes sebagian besar melakukan swamedikasi dengan obat tradisonal yang digunakan bersamaan dengan obat antidiabetes sintesis. Salah satu contoh tanaman yang dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah adalah daun benalu duku dan daun sukun yang memiliki kandungan flavonoid untuk menurunkan glukosa darah dengan cara meningkatkan sensitivitas sel terhadap insulin dan merangsang pelepasan insulin pada sel β pancreas. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada pasien rawat jalan di RSU Sembiring Deli Tua tentang obat antidiabetes yang berasal dari bahan alam yaitu daun benalu duku dan daun sukun. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini peserta memiliki pengetahuan yang baru tentang cara pengolahan bahan alam seperti daun benalu duku dan daun sukun sebagai terapi pengobatan diabetes melitus yang aman dan efektif

Abstract

Hiperkolesterolemia adalah suatu kondisi dimana kolesterol dalam darah meningkat diatas keadaan normal yang mana dapat menjadi salah satu faktoer resiko untuk penyakit kardiovaskular. Dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol dalam darah, masyarakat sering memilih alternatif sebagai penyembuhan yaitu adalah obat-obatan. Obat-obatan sendiri terbagi menjadi dua jenis yaitu pengobatan secara konvensional dan pengobatan secara tradisional. Penggunaan obat tradisional untuk menurunkan kadar kolesterol masih sangat sedikit, sehingga dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol darah masyarakat masih banyak menggunakan obat-obat konvensional, sehingga bahan alam sangat sia-sia karena tidak dimanfaatkan. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol dalam darah adalah Daun Kopi Arabika yang memiliki kandungan senyawa berupa flavonoid, saponin, asam klorogenik yang mana dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Daun Kopi Arabika sendiri banyak terdapat di dalam Indonesia. Tujuan dari PKM ini adalah untuk memberikan atau meningkatkan pengetahuan pasien dalam masa terapi rawat jalan utnuk pengobatan penyakit tingginya kadar kolesterol dalam darah di RSU Sembiring dengan metode edukasi tentang pemanfaatan Daun Kopi Arabika sebagai penurun kadar kolesterol dalam darah. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan sosialisasi ini, para peserta memiliki pengetahuan yang baru tentang pemanfaatan Daun Kopi Arabika sebagai penurun kadar kolesterol dalam darah, selain itu para peserta juga dapat mengeksekusi Daun Kopi Arabika menjadi suatu sediaan yang simple dan mudah digunakan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Peradangan merupakan respon normal akibat sistem kekebalan tubuh untuk mengeliminasi patogen, mencegah meluasnya kerusakan jaringan dan memperbaiki jaringan yang rusak akibat gejala patologis suatu penyakit, Tujuan: Mengetahui konsentrasi yang memberikan efektivitas sebagai antiinflamasi terhadap kulit putih pria tikus diinduksi dengan karagenan 1%. . Metode: Tanaman merambat diekstraksi menggunakan etanol 96% sebagai pelarut. Tikus wistar diadaptasi selama tujuh hari sebanyak 15 ekor. Tikus secara acak dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok I (kontrol negatif) berbasis gel, kelompok II (kontrol positif) gel voltaren, kelompok III ekstrak etanol tanaman merambat dengan konsentrasi 5%, kelompok IV ekstrak etanol daun tanaman merambat 10%, kelompok V ekstrak etanol daun tanaman merambat dari daun 15%. Semua kelompok perlakuan disublantasikan dengan karagenan 1%. Edema pada kaki tikus diukur pada 30 menit hingga 180 menit. Analisis data menggunakan metode one way ANOVA. Hasil: dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing kelompok perlakuan mengalami penurunan inflamasi, pada 5 kelompok perlakuan, penurunan inflamasi yang paling baik adalah konsentrasi 15% yang paling baik dibandingkan voltaren gel dalam menurunkan inflamasi, Kesimpulan: ekstrak etanol tanaman rambat memiliki efek yang hampir setara dengan obat voltaren tetapi obat voltaren lebih efektif mengurangi peradangan

Abstract

Overuse of antibiotics has the potentiall for irrational use. This is one of the factorss that cause resistances. WHO in the field of antimicrobial resistance:According to the Global Surveillance Report, Southeast Asia has the highest level of antimicrobial resistance in the world, especially against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (Ministry of Health, 2015). Results of the AMRIN (Antimicrobial Resistance in Indonesia) study conducted from 2000 to 2005 showed that approximately 43% of E. coli are resistant to various types of antibiotics, including: ampicillin (34%), co-trimoxazole (29%), chloramphenicol (25%) (Minister of Health of the Republic, 2015). Irrational use is a major factor in high antibiotic resistance rates. Lack off publicc knowledges about antibiotics can affect attitudes and healths behaviorss, including irrationall use of antibiotics. Knowledge plays an important rolee in shaping beliefs and attitudess about certain behaviors, such as behavior when taking antibioticss. Abstract

Herbal plants are plants that have been identified and known based on human observation to have compounds that are useful for preventing and curing disease. Traditional medicine is an ingredient or concoction of ingredients in the form of plant ingredients, animal ingredients, mineral ingredients, extract preparations (galenic), or mixtures of these ingredients which have been used for treatment for generations. Secondary metabolite compounds commonly found in plants are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, phenols, tannins, steroids and triterpenoids. Flavonoids are a group of polyphenols and are classified based on their chemical structure and biosynthesis. One of the plants that can be used as traditional medicine is the Sirih cina (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth) . The aim of this counseling is to increase knowledge about the use of herbal plants and increase students' knowledge about traditional medicine in the surrounding environment as traditional medicine at SMA Negeri 1 Pancur Batu. After participating in this outreach activity, it is hoped that students will be able to increase their knowledge and level of health where students will be able to take part in educating friends and family regarding the importance of using medicinal plants as traditional medicine as an effort to maintain health by utilizing plants around them.
