Abstract

An experimental research has been carried out to investigate the effect of fruit juice cermai (Phyllantusacidus.L)concentration on reduce of formaldehyde levels andtendernessin broiler chicken (Gallus domesticus) of formaldehyde meat. This research have used 20 chest of broiler meat weighing 100 g respectively. Meat have been soaked in 10% formalin solution for 1 hour. Meat have randomly divided into 5 treatments and each soaked in fruit juicecermai 0%, 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% for 30 minute. Formaldehyde levelsin meat have analized by spectrophotometer at 415 nm and tenderness of meat have analized by phenetrometer. The results showed soaking treatment with a fruit juice cermai (Phyllantusacidus.L) 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% have a significant effect (P <0.05) to reduce of formaldehyde levels and meat tenderness in broiler meat formalin. The results of this research it can concluded the administration of fruit juice cermai (Phyllantusacidus.L) 60% can reduce formaldehyde levels high of 92.13% and a yield of broiler meat tenderness formaldehyde maximum of 490.25 mm/ 100g /10 seconds. Abstract

An experimental research has been carried out to investigate the effect of aloe vera (Aloe vera) concentration on reduce of formaldehyde levels, and tenderness of broiler meat. This study have used 20 chest of broiler meat weighing 100 g respectively. Meat have been soaked in 10% formalin solution for 1 h and randomly divided into 5 groups of treatments. Abstract

The study of inhibition activity of fennel seeds ( Foeniculum vulgare ) was conducted on Salmonella species sv abony and Bacillus cereus. Fennel seeds heated at 900C for 15 min and made concentration 0; 0.147; 1.47; 147 g/l by dilution in water. This study found concentration of fennel seed infusion significant (P< 0.05) effect on count and growth rate of Salmonella species sv abony and Bacillus cereus. Lowest count and growth of S. abony and B. cereus was obtained in 147 g/l concentration of fennel seed infusion. Keywords : fennel seeds, Salmonella spesies sv abony, Bacillus cereus.

Abstract

The aim of this study to sought determine effect of seligi leaf powder (Phyllanthus buxifolius, Muell) as a feed supplement on body weight, feed consumption, fat and cholesterol level of egg quails. Eighteen of quails have aclimated for 14 days, randomly divided into 3 group and each group have treated 0, 2,5 and 5% powder of seligi leaf in feed for 7 days. The result of this study shown powder of seligi leaf significant (P< 0,05) influence on body weight, feed consumption, and fat and cholesterol level of egg quails, but not significant (P>0,05) influence on internal quality off egg. Average of body weight quail in tread without powder of seligi leaf significant (P<0,05) lower than 2,5% and 5% powder of seligi leaf in feed, the average consumption of the quail treated with 2.5% and 5% significant (P <0.05) lower than the diet without leaf powder seligi, the average fat content of the treated 2.5% and 5% lower than the diet without seligi leaf powder, the average cholesterol levels treated with 2.5% and 5% lower than the diet without seligi leaf powder. It&rsquo;s can be concluded that the use of seligi leaf powder in the ration of 2.5%-5% can reduce levels of fat and cholesterol 1,01-1,65% and 0,99-1,38%, respectively without influence on internal quality of quail eggs. Abstract

The aims of this study to test the killing effect of aqueous extract of leaf pronojiwo (E. horsfieldii) on mortality of rice pests N. lugens, L. acuta and rice T. innotata. Study was conducted in a completely randomized exprimental design with 5 level of water extract of E. horsfieldii (0, 40, 50, 66,67, and 100 g/l in water), each of treatment was 5 replication. Application have done by spraying water extract of leaves Pronojiwo to 3 types of rice pest insects reared in containment measures 80 x 25 cm2, for each lid containing 10 head insects. Observations of rice pests mortality for 24 hours after application of aqueous extract E. horsfieldii. The results of this study showed the aqueous extract of E. horsfieldii have significant effect (P <0.05) on mortality of rice pests. Aqueous extract of leaves E. horsfieldii can kill pests of rice N.lugens, L. acuta, and T. innotata with lethal concentration 50 (LC50) of 4.46, 4.48 and 4.49 g/l water. Abstract

This study aims to prove a liquid of sauerkraut in the drinking water of broilers can lower triglyceride content, cholesterol content, and abdominal fat chicken broiler. Twenty four broiler chickens aged 1 day an average of 25-35 g/ tail. Broiler chickens were randomly divided into 4 groups and repeated 6 times. Each group was given liquid of sauerkraut in drinking water with concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 ml/L for 35 days. The results of the study treatment sauerkraut liquid in drinking water concentration of 1.0 ml/L and 1.5 ml/L have a significant effect (P <0.05) on triglyceride content, cholesterol content, and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. Giving sauerkraut liquid on triglyceride content broiler concentration of 1.0 ml/L and 1.5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower triglyceride content compared with broilers without liquid of sauerkraut. Giving liquid sauerkraut on cholesterol content of broiler concentration 1.0 ml/L and 1.5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower cholesterol content compared with broilers without liquid of sauerkraut. Giving liquid of sauerkraut against abdominal fat of broilers concentration of 1.0 ml/L and 1.5 ml/ L significantly (P <0.05) lower cholesterol content compared with broilers without liquid of sauerkraut. It can be concluded that the drinking water in sauerkraut liquid for broiler chicken lower triglyceride content, cholesterol content, and abdominal fat of broiler chickens at a concentration of 1.0-1.5 ml/L respectively, still at 69.4% -79.2%, 32 , 9%, - 39.4%, and 44.7% -50.3%. The measure of sauerkraut liquid in drinking water for the purpose of reduction in triglyceride content, cholesterol content, and abdominal fat of broiler chicken meat can be used at a concentration of 1.0 to 1.5 ml/L. Abstract

This study aims to prove the sauerkraut liquids in the drinking water of broiler chickens to weight gain, final weight, feed consumption, feed efficiency and the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestine of broilers. A total of 24 chickens broiler DOC with an average weight of 25-35 gr/tail. Broiler chickens were randomly divided into 4 groups.. Each group was given liquids sauerkraut 0 ml/L, 0.5 ml/L, 1.0 ml/L, and 1.5 ml/L in drinking water for 35 days. The results showed the treatment liquids concentration sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L in drinking water have a significant effect (P <0,05) on body weight gain, final weight, feed intake, feed efficiency and the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broiler chickens. Average of body weight gain of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1.5 ml/L in drinking water significantly (P <0.05) higher than the weight gain of broilers concentration 0 ml/L. Average of final weight of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L in drinking water significantly (P <0.05) higher than the final weight of broilers concentration 0 ml/L. Average of consumption of broiler chicken feed given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower than the consumption of broiler chicken feed concentration of 0 ml/L. Average of FCR of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1,5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) lower than the FCR of broilers concentration of 0 ml/L. The average amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broilers given liquids sauerkraut 1.5 ml/L significantly (P <0.05) higher than the amount of lactic acid bacteria intestines of broilers concentration of 0 ml/L. On the research that use of liquids sauerkraut in drinking water 1,5 ml/L can improve feed efficiency and amount of lactic acid bacteria broiler chicken intestines of 23.5%, and 19.4%. Abstract

Penicillium purpurogenum is known to be producing red pigment, pigment produced microbial activity, this research aims to demonstrate the activity of red pigment Penicillium purpurogenum antifungi against diameter and number of Fusarium oxysporum colonies, research done in the laboratory of Microbiology Adi Buana Surabaya University. This study used a randomized complete design (RAL) and Penicillium purpurogenum red pigment treatment concentrations of 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and Ciprofloxacin 1.0%. Each treatment was repeated 4 (four) times, the research was carried out in vitro on medium PDA. The results showed that the red pigment resistance power P. purpurogenum 1.5% a significant effect (P < 0.05) against growth of fungi F. oxysporum and the number of colonies of fungis F. oxysporum compared red pigment resistance power P. purpurogenum 0% and 0.5%. growth of fungi F. oxysporum on PDA media containing pigment red P. purpurogenum 1.5% significant (P < 0.05) smaller than fungi growth F. oxysporum on PDA media containing pigment red P. purpurogenum 0% and 0.5%. Research results can be concluded that use of red pigment of P. purpurogenum can inhibit growth and the number of colonies of fungis F. oxysporum. Abstract

Has been done research that aims to test the inhibitory power of pronojiwo (Euchresta horsfieldii) leaf extract to the fungus P.oryzae. the experimental study was conducted using a completely randomized design with 9 concentrations of liquid extract of pronojiwo leaf and 1 control. Ie the concentration of each pepeated 4 times and in duplo. Application is done by the method of well by means of liquid extract dripped on the diffusion well, dilusion method by means of liquid extract mixed on the media PDA, method of calculating the amount of fungus conidia by means of liquid extract mixed with media PDB, to determine the inhibition zone of the fungus, the growth of the diameter of the fungus, the number of living conidia. Observations were made after incubation for 7 days. The results showed that liquid extract pronojiwo leaves can inhibit and reduce the growth of fungus P.oryzae, at a concentration of 6,25% with a resistor zone result of 0,9 mm, a growth diameter percentage of 71,2%, and may reduce by 2,9 conidia/ml. Abstract

The aim of this study to prove the effect of Fusarium sp fungus infection on corn (Zea mays) to the growth and yield of local corn varieties and hybrid corn varieties. After the age of 45 HST treatment done 5 polybags of plants local corn varieties and 5 polybags of plant hybrid corn varieties infected with Fusarium sp fungus and 5 polybags of plants local corn varieties and 5 polybags of plant hybrid corn varieties not infected by fungus Fusarium sp. The result showed that treatment infected of Fusarium sp and without Fusarium sp fungus significant (P <0,05) to growth and yield of local varieties and hybrid varieties of corn. The average height of local varieties and hybrid varieties of corn with infected by Fusarium sp significant (P <0.05) was lower than the height of corn without Fusarium sp fungus. Local and hybrid varieties of corn after being infected with Fusarium sp fungus showed results significant of leaf with. The yield of corn and the weight of kernel that has been shell showed treatment of Fusarium sp (F5) fungus significant (P <0,05) was lower than the yield of corn not infected by Fusarium sp. The results of this study can be concluded that infections of Fusarium sp fungus on local varieties and hybrid varieties have an influence on growth and yield.
