Abstract

This research aims to explain the correlation of  learning motivation with the students’ learning outcome of the dance art in class X MAN 3 Padang. The problem of research was the difference of students’motivation in the class X MAN 3 Padang which were influenced by the teacher, materials, methods, media, and evaluation of the lesson. This research was quantitative research with correlational  methods. Correlational  research is a study tha measures the relationship between X dan Y variables. The research samples were 25 students of the class X-1 MAN 3 Padang. The instruments of the research were a questionnaire and a testof learning outcomes. The data were collected through interviews and observation as secondary data collection techniques. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between learning motivation and students’ learning outcomes at the dance subject at the MAN 3 Padang. It was proven by rxy value =0.759 which was higher than the rtable. 0.459. Thus,it has shown that the correlation between the two variables was significant. By proving this hypothesis, the learning motivation was demonstrated by attention, understanding diligence and confidence. The students’ learning outcome is improved when they are highly motivated to learn.

Abstract

AbstrakThis reseach aims at finding out and describe about “Gendang Serunai” in wedding ceremonies at Sungai Guntung, Indragiri Hilir. This qualitative research applied the descriptive analysis method.  The object was the performing art of “Gendang Serunai”.  Data were obtained from library study, observation, interview, and documentation.  They were later analyzed qualitatively.The research result shows that “Gendang Serunaiis performed as a collaboretive ensamble of Gendang Serunai, and Gong.  It is also accompanied with ythe performances of martial art and the “Inai Dance”.  During the performance, the players of Gendang sit face to face.  The Serunai player sits at the back of ythe Gendang Jantan player and the Gong player sits at the back of the Gendang Betina players.  There are two processions of “Gendang Serunai” in wedding ceremonies.  The first in as an opening performance with the martial are while the second one is as the main performance with gthe dance.  “Gendang Serunai” is usually performed at wedding and welcoming ceremonies. Keywords: Bentuk Presentation Form, Drums, Wedding Ceremonies

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research was to reveal and explain the correction between the students learning achievement in Solfegio subject and their learning achievement in Vocal class at Sendratasik department of Faculty Language and Art in State University of Padang (FBS-UNP). This was a quantitative research which applied correlation method. Based on the result of coefficient test, it was figured out that the value of r xy was 0,222 on the degree of freedom α 0,05 and the reliability level 95% for which the value of r table was 0,329. After statistic inferential test was done, it was found that the value of r calculated was smaller than r table indicating that the was a low an insignificant correlation the students learning achievement in Solfegio subject and their learning achievement in Vocal class. Hence, Ha was rejected and Ho was accepted. Keyword: Correlation, Learning achievement, Solfegio, Vocal.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the activities of Culture and Arts (music) teachers in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency in implementing music instruction using the Basic Guitar Chords 3D application for learning guitar at school. The use of this guitar playing application provides an opportunity for students to learn guitar playing virtually with a different learning atmosphere from how guitar learning was theoretically and practically conducted before. This study uses references to results from relevant research and several theoretical studies especially those related to learning and instruction, learning methods, guitar learning through application, and Culture and Arts (music) instruction in junior high school. This is a qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The object of research was teachers’ activities in implementing music instruction in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Harau. The learning observed involves learning guitar under the topic of playing a string instrument in a musical ensemble. The research instruments used were observation notes, interview notes, and document studies. The results of the study explain that learning guitar using the Basic Guitar Chords 3D application can create new experiences for students in learning music using the android application. However, due to the fact that the use of this application coincides with learning musical ensembles under the Basic Competence of playing simple music, this application conceptually does not support learning musical ensembles by using actual musical instruments. However, the teachers’ thought to explain that playing music can be done through application surely gives a point, and it can be developed by the teachers in learning music at school.

Abstract

The purpose of this work was to narrate the author's life story by using a violin as the instrument. It told about the author's love of this cord instrument. Through the work of "My Story" the author expressed various kinds of feelings such as sadness, happiness, joy, anger, and disappointment through music composition. This work was played by 4 music players (quartet) with classical music style. They consisted of one violinist, one viola player, one flutist and one classical guitarist. The music composition in this work used the form of rondo composition. This composition emphasized circular circles of repetitions of sentences in the song. The first theme was played; after that, the second theme was introduced and developed. Before the third theme came up, the composition reverted to the first theme and it ended in the first theme after going through an unexpected third theme. Keywords : classical music, quartet, my story.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the implementation of analysis of semester exams by teachers as an evaluation of cultural arts (dance) learning at SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach to analysis. The main instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data collection techniques are conducted by means of observation, interview and literature studies. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, describing data and concluding data. The results showed that the analysis of the problem items conducted by art and culture teachers at SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh, can be said as an extra activity (additional) curriculum because the activity of analysis of the point of this question is an activity outside the mandatory duties of teachers in schools. Of the 15 cultural arts (dance) questions that have been analyzed in mgmp discussion forums and observer participants discussions with teachers, it was determined that 8 questions should be replaced for reasons that do not fit the material and the choice of answer options that confuse students later. From the activities and results of analysis of questions like this, teachers have conducted qualitataif analysis of questions only from the construction aspect (how the problem was built) and the content aspect (how the material conformity) of the question analyzed. But the analysis of the problem that teachers do quantitatively is not done.

Abstract

            This research is aimed at finding out and describing the implementation of the extracurricular activity of the Marching Band Gita Abdi Praja in IPDN Campus, Baso West Sumatra. The extracurricular activity has been carried on since mid-2013.   This is a descriptive qualitative research. The object of study is the Madya Praja students of IPDN, Campus Baso West Sumatra who were involved in the activities of the marching band. The instrument of the research is the researcher herself, who played the role as the observer and participant-an insider who directly took part in investigating the research objects. Supporting data consists of the result of documentation obtained from observation, interviews list and pictures.   The result of study shows that the IPDN Campus conducted the estracurricular activities by first preparing the recruitment process of the Madya Praja students and then selecting them based on the availability of the Marching band equipments and the students ability. Before the Marching Band practices were conducted, the trainer grouped the students into two groups those who would play the percussion instruments (Snare, tenor, cymbal, quintom and bass drum) and the melody instruments (Bellyra, Marching Bell, Brass Instruments.) Next the two group were united to play the instruments collaboratively. The result of evaluation shows that the Praja kept on making progress every time they gathered for practice. This was the result of the good work of both the advisor and trainer who planed and implemented the Marching Band activities in accordance with the procedures.

Abstract

Abstract   This article was aimed at describing the implementation of evalution technique in Arts and Music subject at SMP Negeri 4 Kecamatan Guguak. This was a qualitative research that used descriptive-analysis method. The result of the research indicated that the evaluation technique applied by the teacher  was only on cognitive and psychomotor aspects while the affective aspect was ignored. Thus,it was concluded that the evaluation done by the teacher did not run as it was expected.   Kata Kunci : teknik penilaian

Abstract

This article aims to describe the dance activity of the teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Koto XI Tarusan / Kabupaten Pesisir selatan in conducting the analysis of validity of the exam questions, especially that are used in the final exam. The criteria for validating the analysis of these questions have the same purpose as the measured and clear questions. The method used in this study was qualitative with descriptive analysis approach. The object of the research was the activity of the teacher in analyzing the questions of cultural art made by the teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Koto XI Tarusan, which amounts to 20 items. Those items have been tested to 20 students in the final examination of odd semester 2018/2019. The research instruments used were observation note, interview question lists and documentation files. In order to support the data collection activities, there were some steps such as doing observation, interview and documentation studies. The result of the research can explain that the questions of cultural arts analyzed by its validity has provided an overview of the improvement of the quality of education evaluation in school. The level of student learning outcomes, solely not caused by the level of students' ability in learning, it is also influenced by assessment instruments that are made like a question, whether it is valid or not. The result of the validity analysis of the cultural arts questions in the final exam at class VII-1 of SMP Negeri 3 Koto XI Tarusan were categorized as moderate difficult and 70% of the items have high validity.

Abstract

Abstract This paper aims at describing the ability of cultural art teachers ar SMK Negeri 1 South Solok. The theory used in this study related to theories of teaching and learning, teachers' ability in giving instruction, and cultural arts intructional material at school. The research finidng showed that teachers' ability in teaching cultural art at SMK Negeri 1 South Solok is "quite good". However, by this attribut, of course, it still has strength and weakness. The weakness of the teachers at this school is that the teachers do not use the instructional media and did not do an evaluation as the researcher conducted observations. The strength of teachers is that the teachers’ ability in preparing intructional material is very good.
