Abstract This article aimed to explain about the implementation of culture and arts learning (music) using audiovisual media in class VIII-2 of SMP Negeri 30 Padang. The background of the research was the interest of researcher to use audiovisual media in classroom learning in line with the order and composition of the material subject given. The type of research was qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The object of the study was the teacher and students who were studying culture and arts (music) in the subject matter of regional song appreciation, namely in class VIII-2 of SMP Negeri 30 Padang. The instruments of this research were observation and interview. The results showed that when audiovisual media used in music learning by paying attention to the order and suitability of the subject matter, then the use of audiovisual media would be able to attract students' attention in fostering understanding in learning. It was because the audiovisual learning media was not limited to power point and video display; sometimes the media was displayed separately from the subject matter delivered by the teacher in the classroom. Abstract This article aims to explain the Experience Music in Choral Activities at SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. Qualitative research with descriptive method that provides a complete picture and set forth in writing in the event of Experience Music Choir at SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. Research conducted the 1st half of the school year 2014/2015. The data obtained were collected through observation, interviews, documentation and study the literature. Data analysis included the presentation of data and inference data. Research explains that the Music Experience Choir Activity in SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh showed that activity in class VIII9 choir has advantages and disadvantages, so only a little musical experience gained by the students. The results of extracurricular activities chorus make students more aware of and understand the vocal technique, the students gained experience more in terms of both theory and practice. Interrelationship between choral activities in class VIII9 with extracurricular activities choir, where students who participate in extracurricular activities choir has more musical experience than those who did not follow extracurricular activities. AbstractThis article aims to finding out and describe the implementation of exersice method using quiz in cultural and art subject for student grade VIII at SMP N 2 Painan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The design of the research was descriptive research by using qualitative approach. The object of the research were 4th grade student at SMP N 2 Painan. There were 20 students. The instrument was the researcher herself using stationary, camera and observation sheet. The research was conducted by observing the teacher while she is teaching and implementing the quiz. The data were collected through observation, interview, documentation and library research. The result of the research shows that the implementation of exercise method using quiz gave the positive effect to student in culture and art subject. It can be seen from student’s behavior that slowly improved since the first meeting the quiz given: such as they are serious during the lesson, gave response even asked some questions about what they learned. The learning outcomes also increase comparing to their midterm test result. It means the imolementation of quiz method is effective in cultural and art subject for student grade VIII 3 at SMP N 2 Painan.

This study aims to describe the use of material concept mapping by teachers to help students understand theoretically music subject. The literature review used in this research is related to the notion of school instruction; learning during a pandemic; Learning of cultures and Arts (music) according to K13; and conceptual mapping of subject matter. This research belongs to a quantitative research using a descriptive analysis approach. Based on the research results during three online learning meetings in class X-2, it can be explained that the use of concept mapping of music art subject matter by the teachers based on the concept map made on the blackboard and PowerPoint slides has encouraged an increase in student understanding especially in terms of mastering the materials. The concept mapping made by teachers and assigned to students helps students better understand the subject matter of music in a more structured and organized way. Thus, it is in accordance with the theoretical ideas of the subject matter studied.

AbstractThis research aims to describe students’ motivation in recorder music learning process and the increasing learning activity in recorder music learning process in SMP Negeri 2 Kapur IX. The design of this research was qualitative-descriptive analysis. Research object was seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kapur IX. The number of students was 32 students. The data was collected by using interview, observation, library research and photograph. The result showed that applying demonstration method in learning ensemble music could increase the learning activity in seven grade SMP Negeri 2 Kapur IX. Based on lesson plan which already arranged and applied in learning process. There were six meetings. Researcher got result 1) Paying attention on teachers’ explanation increased from 70% to 74%. 2) Note-taking activity had significant increased from 60% to 92%. 3) Self-practice activity also increased from 48% to 81%. 4) Musical note reading activity also had significant increased fro 29% to 70%.Key words: motivation, activity, learning process

Abstract This research was aimed at describing the extracurricular activities of music at SMA PGRI 2 Padang. This was descriptive research whuch used qualitative approach. The result of the research indicated that the extracurricular activities of music were designed based on the goals to be achieved. Encouranging the students to be creative and have skills in music by teaching the basic technique of playing music were the preliminary efforts done by the teacher. In this phase the teacher also trained the students to play particular music individually. The activities started from teaching the students to play rhythm guitar. Melodic guitar, bass, drum, vocal and the basic technique of playing traditional music instuments such as talempong, gendang tambua and sarunai. Kata kunci : Kegiatan, Ekstrakurikuler, Musik

Purwacaraka Music Studio Padang is a non-formal music institution which opens drum classes for early childhood (4-8 years old) and has been attended by 14 students. In learning, there are factors which influence the process: supporting factors and inhibiting factors. There is an interesting problem to be examined in this study. It is how to learn drums for early childhood at Purwacaraka Music Studio Padang?. The theoretical basis used in this study contains of the notion of learning and teaching, drum learning, early childhood, music, conceptual framework, types of courses, and participants. This research used a qualitative approach which produced descriptive data about Drum Learning for Early Childhood at Purwacaraka Music Studio Padang. The data were collected through observation interview and documentation. Meanwhile, the interactive data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and conclusion verification. The data were processed and then selected for the reliability and validity. The validity of the data was done by checking the data starting from data collection, data presentation, data reduction, conclusions drawing, and verification.

This research aims to describe the use of non-face-to-face tasking methods by teachers in Cultural Arts lessons at SMP Negeri 3 Padang, where research problems are backgrounded by the problem of learning cultural arts (music) during the covid-19 pandemic, in unisono singing lessons. The study of the theory that is the cornerstone of scientific thinking in this research relates to education, learning and learning; learning methods, task-giving methods, non-face-to-face distance learning and Cultural Arts learning. While the research methods used are of a type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach to analysis. Based on the results of two meetings, researchers can explain that the implementation of non-face-to-face tasking methods of cultural arts (music) subjects with unisono singing material grades VII-3 in SMP Negeri 3 Padang is the best choice by teachers to continue to carry out kbm music art in times of pandemic. Although the use of online learning properly through video conferences, due to the limitations of the facilities and quotas available on the part of students and parents, this online learning activity was replaced by the provision of non-face-to-face assignments using the WA app. With this method of learning, although not online, it can overcome various music learning activities that remained carried out during the pandemic. With this kind of learning, the goal of achieving the goal of learning is only in the field of appreciation towards singing unisono only, because the target goal of learning practice is difficult to achieve.

AbstractThis article aims to describe the activities of self development playing guitar in junior high 30-Country field. This type of research is qualitative research methods a descriptive analysis. The research was carried out at 22 students and coaches as its object, which is involved in the activity of self development playing guitar in junior high the land even semester Pasture 30 years teaching 2016/2017. The collection of data through observation, interview, documentation and library studies. The results showed that the implementation of the activities of the self development playing guitar in junior high 30 Pasture Land has been getting high from appreciative students, although at the time of exercise there are students who do not attend practice. As for the findings of the study showed that the implementation of the activities of the self development of guitar at the school had been done properly. It can be proved by ketercapaian students in material and latihanuntuk able to play guitar, guitar finger exercises, know, play tangganada, fingered and finally being able to play the song delman exceptional individually and groups.Keywords: activities, self development, guitar

ABSTRAK The research aims to describe the implementation of activity-Drum Band and the factors inhibiting the implementation of activity-Extra Drum Band at SMP 4 South Solok. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Object of study is the students of SMP 4 South Solok who participate in extracurricular activities Drum-Band. Instruments used in this study are: Primary instrument is the researcher himself as an observer (observer), participants (actors) played a role in the insider position directly in the object under study and instrument supporting documentation in the form of results from field data recording device in the form of observations, interviews and lists camera. The results describe that in terms of the location of the school and the history of the founding of the school began to get positive response from the entire community for the betterment of education for children in the future and the community with the local administration has clearly played a role in keeping the presence of schools, either directly or indirectly directly. From the research described there are two factors that affect the: factors supporting and inhibiting factors. Limiting factor is not as decisive as the contributing factors. Seen in the field supporting the dominant factor affecting the implementation of the so-Band Drum extracurricular activities can be carried out effectively and efficiently.
