Abstract

The digital transformation of madrasahs has become imperative in the current digital era to address the evolving challenges of educational relevance. The digitalization process in madrasahs, particularly at MAN 3 Tanah Datar, encounters several obstacles, including limitations in infrastructure and human resources. Through the Science and Technology Literacy initiative spearheaded by the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, this community service activity aims to strengthen technology literacy among teachers at MAN 3 Tanah Datar. The initiative includes training on the use of digital media creation and assessment applications, such as Canva, Quizizz, and Wordwall. The methodology employed encompasses three phases: pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation. The outcomes indicate that the training successfully enhanced teachers' technological skills, which in turn contributed to creativity and innovation in teaching and learning processes. Monitoring and evaluation activities showed that the use of Canva, Wordwall, and Quizizz at MAN 3 Tanah Datar increased student engagement and motivation, but there is still a need for media adaptation to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Continued efforts in digitalization are necessary to realize the full potential of a digital madrasah. Technology-based training programs like these are expected to bolster the madrasah's human resources, equipping them to meet global challenges in the digital age. Hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression showed that gratitude and optimism simultaneously had a significant effect on subjective well-being (F = 793.986; sig. = .000; R = .702; R² = .492). Gratitude (t = 12.935; sig. = .000) and optimism (t = 63.816; sig. = .000) also had significant individual effects. The effective contribution of gratitude was 23.8%, and optimism was 25.4%. Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems that arise due to the competitive campus climate so that students often make social comparisons that trigger jealous behavior, unhealthy competition, and feelings of joy over the failure of others that indicate schadenfreude actions. One of the factors that influences schadenfreude is self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of self-esteem on schadenfreude in students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis test. Sampling in this study used the Slovin formula with a 0.5% error rate of 385 students. The sampling technique used was a random technique by dividing the distribution of subjects in each faculty using proportionate stratified random sampling. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing the self-esteem scale and the schadenfreude scale using the Likert model. The level of self-esteem categorization is in the moderate category with a percentage of 49.6% and the schadenfreude categorization is in the moderate category with a percentage of 55.6%. The results of this study indicate that self-esteem has a significant effect on schadenfreude with a contribution percentage of 17.5% which refers to a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) with a negative influence direction based on the unstandardized coefficient value of -0.462. This confirms that self-esteem has an important role in reducing feelings of joy over other people's failures.
