Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) on village development in Bali Province. In analyzing village development, the Independent Village Index (IDM) is used with the main variable namely the existence of PMI, supported by control variables in the form of electricity, fuel energy, landfills, latrines, feces final disposal sites, toilets, sources of drinking water, and sources of toilet water. Research data was obtained from PODES 2018, with a total of 777 observations. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the STATA application. From the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the existence of villagers working as PMI had not been able to have a significant influence on village development in the Province of Bali. This is reflected in the results of data analysis on the developing village index where the research results show that there is still inequality between villages which causes disparities in accessing resources, especially clean water, availability of disposal sites, and from the use of electricity and fuel energy for cooking. keyword: Household Analysis, Regional Economic Activity, Trade and Labor Market Interactions JEL classification: R2, R11, F16

Abstract

The performance of Gamelan Ancag-ancagan in Aci Pangilen Dewa Yadnya in Kesiman shows the phenomenon of art in a unique and distinctive religious ritual. The struggle for aesthetic, mystical, and magical values in religious rituals that have the supreme dimension emphasizes the complexity of phenomena so that it is interesting to explore them in depth. This research prioritizes field studies by applying qualitative methods based on religious and cultural approaches. The results of this study indicate that the reasons underlying the performance of Gamelan Ancag-ancagan in Aci Pangilen Dewa Yadnya in Kesiman include ideological, magical-religious, aesthetic-religious, and sociological reasons. The form of the performance can be classified into two, namely the physical form as a sacred gamelan and the dynamic form as an accompaniment to religious rituals. The function of performance includes aesthetic, religious, and mystical function. The meaning of the performance is revealed from the specific symbols of this gamelan, namely the ancag-ancagan which symbolizes swadharma, the gegedig telu which symbolizes the Tri Loka, Tri Kona, and Tri Wisesa, and the laluangan which symbolize the movement back towards the Highest Reality. The main finding of this study is that Gamelan Ancag-ancagan is a sacred gamelan typical of Kesiman which is only used for Aci Pangilen Dewa Yadnya, not for other religious rituals, let alone profane activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the technical and economic impact of power evacuation work on the 20 kV distribution system at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 East Bali. The main problem studied is the high losses and poor voltage profile on the downstream side of the Kintamani feeder. The method used is load flow simulation using ETAP software with a comparative approach to conditions before and after power evacuation. The results showed that the active losses decreased from 1.017 MW to 0.626 MW (efficiency 38.45%), accompanied by an increase in the end voltage from 16.32 kV to 18.72 kV and 19.38 kV, thus meeting the SPLN 1:1995 standard. The reduction in losses resulted in energy savings of 3,425,160 kWh/year. From the economic side, a payback period (PBP) of 1.40 years was obtained, which shows that the project is financially feasible. In addition, the improvement of network performance also contributes to the reliability of the distribution system and the continuity of the distribution of electrical energy to customers. Thus, power evacuation work has been proven to be effective in improving power distribution efficiency, improving voltage quality, and providing significant economic benefits.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest coffee-exporting countries in the world. This is due to the high competitiveness of Indonesian coffee in the international market, as well as its distinctive characteristics. This study aims to analyze the influence of export prices, exchange rates, and total production on the export volume of Sumatran coffee from 2010 to 2023. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from literature studies conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the Ministry of Trade, the Plantation Service, UN COMTRADE, the World Bank Commodity Price Data, as well as related articles and journals. The data consists of time series records spanning from 2010 to 2023. This study employs a non-participant observation method to collect data, which involves reading, gathering, and documenting relevant information. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression, and data processing is conducted using SPSS software version 27. The results of data processing and simultaneous testing indicate that export prices, exchange rates, and total production influence the export volume of Sumatran coffee during the 2010-2023 period. Partially, export prices and total production have a positive and significant impact on export volume, whereas the exchange rate has a negative and significant effect. To enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian coffee, efforts to increase its productivity—currently still relatively low—are essential.
