Abstract

The intervention of computer technology began the era of a more intelligent and independent instrumentation system based on intelligent methods such as artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithm. On the other hand, processor with artificial cognitive ability has also been discovered in 2016. The architecture of the processor was designed based on knowledge growing system (KGS) algorithm, a new concept in artificial intelligence (AI) which is focused on the emulation of the process of the growing of knowledge in human brain after getting new information from human sensory organs. KGS is considered as the main method of a new perspective in AI called as cognitive artificial intelligence (CAI). The design is to obtain the architecture of the data path of the processor. We found that the complexity of the processor circuit is determined by the number of combinations of sensors and hypotheses as the main inputs to the processor. This paper addresses the development of an intelligence processor based on cognitive AI in order to realize an Intelligence Instrumentation System. The processor is implemented in field programmable gate array (FPGA) and able to perform human thinking emulation by using KGS algorithm.

Abstract

This paper discusses the design of the architecture of an information fusion processor. This processor emulates the way of human thinking, namely by drawing conclusions from the obtained collection of information. Architecture design for this processor is based on Knowledge Growing System (KGS) algorithm. KGS is a novelty in Artificial Intelligence field. Compared to other AI methods, KGS focuses on the observation of the process of the knowledge growth within human brain based on information received from the surrounding environment. By using KGS algorithm, this processor works by receiving inputs from a set of sensors and possible hypotheses obtained after the processing of the information. The processor generates a value which is called as Degree of Certainty (DoC), which show the most possible hypothesis among all alternative ones. The Processor Elements which are used to perform KGS algorithm is designed based on systolic array architecture. The design of this processor is realized with VHSIC Hardware Design Language (VHDL) and synthesized by using FPGA Quartus II.13.1. The results show that the data path which has been design is able to perform the mechanism of KGS computation.

Abstract

This paper proposes Cognitive Artificial Intelligence (CAI) method for Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) interpretation adopting Doernenburg Ratio method. CAI works based on Knowledge Growing System (KGS) principle and is capable of growing its own knowledge. Data are collected from sensors, but they are not the information itself, and thus, data needs to be processed to extract information. Multiple information are then fused in order to obtain new information with Degree of Certainty (DoC). The new information is used to identify faults occurred at a single observation. The proposed method is tested using the previously published dataset and compared with Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Experiment shows CAI implementation on Doernenburg Ratio performs 115 out of 117 accurate identification, followed by Fuzzy Inference System 94.02% and ANN 78.6%. CAI works well even with small amount of data and does not require trainings.

Abstract

A problem that has been faced by the Radar is if the aircraft flies at low level or near to the surface so its coming in the aerial-surveillance airspace cannot be detected and endangers the air sovereignty. The aircraft can be recognized and identified by carrying out a technique called Visual Aircraft Recognition (VACR) using a binocular. This technique requires military personnel that has capability carrying out the air surveillance from the ground. Surveillance is a time-consuming and tiring task so it can cause fatigue and impact to the results of the recognition and identification. To cope with this problem, we have designed and implemented a novel recognition and identification method using the combination of Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) and information fusion. By using a dataset that consists of 45 military aircrafts, 35 civilian aircrafts, 40 military helicopters, and 35 civilian helicopters with 80:20 dataset distribution for the training scheme and the validation one, we obtained the recognition accuracy of 87.1%. We also found that the recognition and identification process can be speeded up 1.2 seconds when using information fusion.

Abstract

Abstract

Criminality is all forms of action and conduct that violate the law as well social and religious norms that are detrimental to the society both economically and psychologically. The emergence of verious crime forms with new dimension recently shows that the criminality is always developing. In the effort to reduce the increase of the crime rate, a crime action prediction system is needed to anticipate the future. In this research a crime rate prediction system based in the types of criminal action using Triple Exponential Smoothing (TES) method has been developed, and the prediction  accuracy of the system is measured by using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) method with a case study on Resort Police of Kabupaten Probolinggo, East Jawa. From the conducted test, obtained results MAPE score of  theft by weighting (Curat) type is 7% or Very Accurate prediction criterion. MAPE score for crime action type Others, motor vehicle theft (Curanmor), Destruction, and Fraud are 9.8%, 14.4%, 13.6%, and 16%, or Good prediction criterion. For crime action type Beatings, violent theft (Curas), severe persecution (Anirat), Murder, and Thief each one has MAPE score 23.2%, 31.2%, 21.2%, 33.2%, and 50%, or Reasonable prediction criterion, while MAPE score for Animal Theft is 92% or Inaccurate prediction criterion. In general, the criminality rate prediction system using TES method that has been developed for the case study on Resort Police of Kabupaten Probolinggo obtains MAPE score 28,3% or Reasonable prediction criterion.

Abstract

Decision-making is the most critical phase in Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act (OODA) defense decisioncycle. If the decision made is correct regarding the current situation, then it can minimize the possibility of loss. The contradiction situation will occur if the incorrect decision is made. The correctness of the decision dependsof the quality on information delivered from Orient(ation) phase that will be used as the basis for decisionmaking.Meanwhile, in defense applications the process of decision-making plays a very important roleespecially if the time is the most affecting factor. Such an application is nation defense system in defending ourcountry’s nation sovereignty in air, sea, and land. Therefore, the faster the decision is made, the earlier thesystem can perform anticipations to any nation defense intrusion. For this purpose, in this paper we address theutilization of A3S (Arwin-Adang-Aciek-Sembiring) information-inferencing fusion for accelerating theinformation processing and obtaining good comprehensive information quality that will be used as the basis forstrategic decision-making for nation defense. Keywords: A3S, information-inferencing fusion, nation defense, OODA, strategic decision-making
