Abstract

Waste management has become a central issue due to the growing population and the increasing amount of unmanaged waste. This management should be implemented across all aspects of life, from small to large scales. At the smaller scale, waste management is introduced starting from schools, where values are instilled in students that they will carry into adulthood. The habit of managing waste from an early age is expected to become a positive practice in the future. State Senior High School (SMA N) 3 Muaro Jambi is a well-regarded Senior High School in Jambi Province, holding an A accreditation. Currently, SMA N 3 Muaro Jambi does not have an effective waste management system, particularly for organic waste. Additionally, the school is planning to implement the Adiwiyata program, which includes waste management as one of its key points. This community service activity is carried out in three stages: a survey and analysis of the waste problems, socialization of organic waste management into liquid organic fertilizer as an environmentally friendly solution, and practical training in organic waste management. It is hoped that this activity will provide students with knowledge that can lead to business development, serve as a benchmark for other schools in Jambi Province, and help fulfill the requirements for the Adiwiyata program.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the daily activity patterns of long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) in the area of the University of Jambi (UNJA) Mendalo Campus. This study was conducted using a descriptive quantitative approach through the focal animal sampling method in four main locations (UNJA Jami' Mosque, UNJA Lake, UNJA LPTIK, and UNJA FKIP). The research location was determined by purposive sampling, namely in areas inhabited by long-tailed monkey populations, at three different times (morning, afternoon, evening). In each location, one individual monkey was observed for 1 hour per period with behavioral recording every 5 minutes. The results of the study showed that the most common behaviors were eating, moving, and grooming, with activity patterns varying in each location and time. Locations that have open food sources, such as UNJA Jami' Mosque, tend to be the focus for eating and grooming activities, while quieter locations such as UNJA Lake and LPTIK support playing and grooming activities. Environmental factors, such as food availability and the level of human disturbance, have a significant impact on monkey activity patterns. The results of this study are expected to be a basis for managing a campus environment that is balanced between human activities and the existence of wildlife. Abstract

Pelayangan sub-district is a sub-district in Jambi City where the average income of the population is obtained from small and medium industries (IKM). The product produced is one of the typical products of the Jambi region, including crackers, batik, food, and others. Product marketing that has been carried out so far is still fixated using conventional methods. This is due to the limited knowledge of IKM managers in the Pelayangan District area in utilizing information technology to support the marketing process for the products they produce. With the use of social media and the development of video advertisements on social media, it is possible to expand market share and the resulting product sales transactions. For this reason, in order to expand market share, a community service program for the application of science and technology is carried out. Where in this service program, the development and implementation of assistance in the use of promotional media will be carried out in the form of product videos that are advertised premium on social media in order to expand market share in product sales to small and medium industries (IKM) in Pelayangan Kota District. Assistance activities will be carried out in 3 activity sessions located in Pelayangan District, namely 1 session of delivering material, ideas and ideas about product marketing through advertising services on social media and 2 sessions of making, implementing and mentoring the use of the media. The output resulting from this community service activity is an increase in community understanding and skills about promotion using social media and IKM product videos that are promoted through advertising services on social media.

Abstract

In community life, cultural elements play a crucial role as guidelines for social order. The culture applied in society extends beyond objects to behavior, attitudes, attitudes toward nature, and even the management of nature itself. One of Jambi Province's abundant natural resources is its fish biodiversity. The Batanghari River has a significant impact on both fish diversity and culture. This cultural connection to fish remains deeply embedded in the community to this day. Furthermore, fish folklore is also found, which is beneficial for fish conservation. Ethnoscience is not merely a cultural knowledge; it is also an intangible heritage of Jambi Province. Therefore, ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are interconnected. Ethnoscience and fish biodiversity are now integrated into a single information system, the Jambi Fish Biodiversity Information System (BERIKAN JAMBI) https://ikanjambi.unja.ac.id/. This integrated information system contains information about the fish found in the Batanghari River. The socialization and application workshop given to the Guci Emas awareness group in Muaro Pijoan Village aims to provide knowledge and understanding regarding the Berikan Jambi information system in supporting ethnoscience studies of the community in the area and as a conservation step through the fostered group, so that it can make it easier for the community to obtain information about local folklore regarding certain fish.
