Abstract

ABSTRACT: “Pancasila” (Five Basic Principles of the Republic of Indonesia) Education subject, which was before Reformation era (1998) known widely by Indonesian community, nowadays has undergone marginalization process in social, national, and state living. It is due to, one of the factors, that “Pancasila” Education subject has been made as indoctrination means and authority political needs in performing development in the New Order government era (1966-1998). Although “Pancasila” Education subject has not been exit in educational curriculum in Indonesia since 2003, but now it is realized the need of developing awareness about “Pancasila” lofty values toward college students as the candidate of next national leader. Of the appropriate “Pancasila” Education subject contents to implant lofty values toward Indonesian students, the study finding shows that the respondents agreed with re-emphasizing  the matters related to: (1) the foundation and aim of “Pancasila” Education; (2) “Pancasila” in historical context of Indonesian struggle; (3) “Pancasila” as philosophical system; (4) “Pancasila” as political ethic; (5) “Pancasila” as national ideology; (6) “Pancasila” in state administration of Indonesian Republic; and (7) “Pancasila” as social, national, and state living paradigm in Indonesia to be developed continuously in Indonesian community. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The aims of main research are: (1) implementing the learning of civic education in democratic colleges; (2) the implementation of civic education campus-based embryo; and (3) implementing embryo of colleges as the laboratory of democracy. Research populations are all civic education lecturers and students of Muhammadiyah universities in Central Java who lecture and study civic education. Research methods are: interview, scale of attitude/opinion, questionnaire, and documentary study. Data of research are described with data reduction technique, data display, and conclusion. Conclusions are: (1) to create democratic civic education learning, student discussions should be stepped up to develop students’ civic values; and (2) to create embryo of civic education campus-based and embryo of college as the laboratory democracy. It needs: (a) efforts to create democratic college both in its intra-curriculum and extra curriculum; (b) implementing student-oriented lectures; (c) students are involved to participate in any political state activities; (d) making of student study groups; (e) implementing the freedom of having a notion, gender equality, and responsibility; (f) increasing number of students’ discussion about reality of social life, and its problem solving; (g) increasing number of students’ academic groups, and training them to obey in any rules; (h) in implementing the three college-dedications, lecturers have to involve their students; (i) college has to give students more chances to develop their potential; and (j) students should be introduced with democratic values earlier.  KEY WORDS: civic education, campus based education, Muhammadiyah universities, laboratory of democracy, and democratic civic education.   About the Authors: Prof. Dr. Haji Tukiran Taniredja is Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UMP (Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto), Jalan Raya Dukuhwaluh PO Box 202, Purwokerto 53182, Central Java, Indonesia; and Sri Harmianto and Eko Priyanto are also Lecturers at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UMP (Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto). Abstract

ABSTRACT: Quality education becomes a major issue in higher education. The numbers of graduate students to pursue their higher education keep increasing by years. In the meantime, the institutions of higher learning are striving to attract more students, especially at the graduate level by making every effort to provide quality education. Graduate students contribute to the development of research outcome. Some scholars proposed that the strategic success of a service organization depends on its ability to consistently meet or exceed customer service expectations. A constant effort should be made to ensure the customer satisfaction. This paper provides the relevant input for effective resource development in institutional of higher education. The approach would address the needs of students further along the process with an emphasis on data gathering, management and analysis, compiling a thesis or dissertation, assessment, and the publishing of research results. Another approach would relate to generic aspects of graduate growth, development, and progress. Conceptual evidence is presented which combination of resource needs to focus. It is hoped to contribute a proper insight of effective resource in developing distinguished human capital.KEY WORDS: Higher education, quality education, graduate students, resource development, and student development.    About the Authors: Assoc. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui  (1) para dosen PKn di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto mengembangkan nilai-nilai demokrasi kepada para mahasiswanya; (2) kendala para dosen PKn di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto untuk mengembangkan nilai-nilai demokrasi kepada para mahasiswanya; (3) solusi para dosen PKn di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto menghadapi kendala untuk mengembangkan nilai-nilai demokrasi kepada para mahasiswanya. Merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam. Informannya seluruh dosen PKn di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwwokerto. analisis data yaitu data reduction, data display, data conclusion/ drawing/ verification. Untuk mengembangkan sikap kebebasan berkelompok pada diri mahasiswa dapat dipraktekkan melalui diskusi. Sebagai contoh ketika di dalam kelas mahasiswa diberi kebebasan untuk memilih siapa saja anggota yang menjadi kelompoknya ketika berdiskusi. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh dosen dalam pengembangan sikap-sikap demokratis mahasiswa adalah lingkungan tidak memberikan contoh yang baik, terjadi ketidaksesuaian antara apa yang diucapkan oleh dosen dengan yang ada lingkungan. Solusi yang dilakukan oleh dosen dalam menghadapi kendala tersebut yaitu menerapkan pendidikan demokrasi kepada mahasiswa khususnya melalui pembelajaran di dalam kelas dan dosen sebagai model yang dicontoh oleh mahasiswa harus memberikan teladan yang baik.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine (1) the development of values from the second principle of Pancasila for sixth graders; (2) what are the constraints of sixth grade teachers in developing the values of the second principle of Pancasila; (3) the solution from teachers to overcome the obstacles in developing the values to the learners. Data were collected using an open questionnaire. Informants were the teachers of sixth graders. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion/ verification. To develop the values of the second principle of Pancasila: (a) students needed the examples from various stakeholders such as teachers, parents and community leaders; (b) the problem is the selfish attitude of learners who did not cooperate with their friends; (c) the solution suggested were having patience and diligence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan dengan sikap toleransi peserta didik di kelas VIII SMP Bruderan Purwokerto. Metode yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah metode korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Bruderan Purwokerto tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yaitu sebanyak 40 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi yang dianalisis menggunakan korelasi product momen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pembelajaran PPKn memiliki hubungan dalam mewujudkan sikap toleransi peserta didik. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan sebesar 25%. Data tersebut diperoleh karena tujuan pembelajaran, muatan materi, metode, media, dan evaluasi pembelajaran PPKn memiliki muatan kompetensi sikap toleransi yang harus dimiliki peserta didik. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar dalam pengembangan sikap toleransi peserta didik melalui pemebelajaran PPKN.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between (1) social attitudes andlearning achievements of fifth grade elementary school students in the NagawiruCluster Gumelar District; (2) emotional intelligence with learning achievement of fifthgrade elementary school students; and (3) social attitudes and emotional intelligence offifth grade elementary school students.This research used a correlational research witha quantitative approach. The variables in this study are emotional intelligence, socialattitudes, and student achievement. The study population was all fifth grade students inelementary schools in the Nagawiru cluster. The number of samples taken was 75students by using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniquesusing questionnaires and documentary studies. The analysis technique used is theproduct moment correlation technique and multiple regression. The results showed that(1) there was a positive and significant relationship between social attitudes with classV student achievement Whereas female students have a positive and significantrelationship between social attitudes and learning achievements ; (2) there a positiveand significant relationship between emotional intelligence and student achievemenespecially females; and (3) there is a positive and significant relationship betweensocial attitudes and emotional intelligence. Meanwhile, both male and female studentshave social attitudes with emotional intelligence with low and moderate categories.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the source of student well-being in Javanese ado­lescents. This research uses quantitative research approach and supported by qualitative. Research location in Banyumas with cluster random sampling technique. Instrument data collection using the scale of student well-being and open source questionaire student well-being and interview guide. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive. The results of the study are: 1) The sources of student well-being are the dimensions of social relations, cognitive, emotional and spiritual. 2) The inhibiting factor of achieving student well-being is if there are problems in the social, cognitive, emotional, physical and spiritual.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sumber student well-being pada remaja Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dan didukung dengan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian di Banyumas dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan skala student well-being dan openquesioner sumber student well-being serta panduan wawancara. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah: 1) Sumber-sumber student well-being adalah dimensi hubungan sosial, kognitif, emosi dan spiritual. 2) Faktor penghambat tercapainya student well-being adalah jika ada masalah dalam dimensi sosial, kognitif, emosi, fisik dan spiritual.

Abstract

AbstractIn this article the author promotes a conception of multicultural education and its role for the formation of Indonesian nationalism. Various references indicate that today there are some problems, mainly related to the  development of  narrow  ethnic  consciousness  in  some  areas  of the  country.  Not  infrequently inter- ethnic relations have led to excessive sentiment in some areas so disrupt national unity built since this nation stands. This phenomenon encourages awareness to make an effort to develop nationalism among the people of In donesia. In this case, multicultural education can be adopted for the solution of the problem. Multicultural  education appropriate to build Indonesian nationalism in the face of global challenges, because it has a core value in the local and global perspectives, namely: (a) piety towards God Almighty, (b) the responsibility of the unitary state, (c) an award, recognition, and acceptance of cultural diversity, (d) uphold the rule of law, and (e)appreciation of human dignity and human rights are universal. The goal of multicultural education is very importa nt for the integration of the nation because it is in line with Indonesian nationalism development efforts  to address the challenges of time.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran PKn, pengamalan sila Persatuan Indonesia, dan   hubungan pembelajaran PKn dengan pengamalan sila Persatuan Indonesia. Populasi penelitian seluruh peserta didik kelas 8F SMP Kembaran 1 Banyumas yang berjumlah 32. Seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian, sehingga merupakan sensus/sampel jenuh. Pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner tertutup. Analisis data dengan persentase dan  korelasi product moment. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan proses pembelajaran PKn kuat (78%), pengamalan Sila Persatuan Indonesia sangat kuat (82%) dan  tidak ada korelasi yang signifikan antara proses pembelajaran PKn dengan pengamalan  sila Persatuan Indonesia , rxy (0,21). Kata Kunci:  pembelajaran PKn, peserta didik,  Sila Persatuan Indonesia
