Abstract

The use of technology in evaluating the results of football matches has been used in various countries. This study aimed to identify and analyze the match results of the Argentina national team as the 2022 World Cup champion team. This research was a descriptive quantitative research that was analyzed in statistical form. The data sources were collected by the researcher by analyzing statistical data and video recordings of matches from the official FIFA website, Whoscored and Vidio. A total of 7 matches had been played by the Argentina national team in the 2022 World Cup competition, analyzed in terms of goals, ball possession, attempts at goal, direction of attack, distribution and defense. The results showed that most goals were scored in the 31-45th minute and most conceded in the 76-90 th minute, with the most ways being open play, most goals scored in area 3 with the striker being the top scorer. Argentina is quite dominant and controls the match in ball possession, attempt on target and total distribution (passing success, crossing success, and line breaks success) in every match with many attacks started from the right. When carrying out defensive pressure and tackles, Argentina is also more effective than its opponent. In this study, it could be concluded that the parameters to achieve victory were not only from ball possession, attempt success, and passing success but also seen from distribution parameters (crossing and line break success) and defensive parameters, especially defensive pressure which was also an indicator of team success in a match. It is hoped that in the future there will be further research discussing the successful journey of a team in several competitions followed by analysis parameters that are not much different, especially with a more detailed analysis of distribution and defense systems.

Abstract

Background Problems: Kurash is a traditional martial art and sport that plays an important role in promoting physical culture and a healthy lifestyle among young people. However, the specific physical and psychological factors that influence performance in Kurash, a martial arts sport, remain unclear. Research Objectives: This study aims to identify the dominant physical and psychological elements affecting Kurash sport performance. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive correlational approach was employed, involving 12 coaches and 40 Kurash athletes from South Kalimantan. Physical indicators were measured using anthropometric data (e.g., height, arm length) and biomotor skills (e.g., muscle strength, flexibility, speed). Aerobic tests assessed physiological capacity, and validated questionnaires evaluated psychological factors such as anxiety, concentration, self-confidence, and motivation. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS). Findings and Results: The study's results revealed two main findings. First, the dominant physical factors in kurash sport include arm muscle strength, back and leg muscle strength, flexibility, balance, arm muscle explosiveness, speed, and aerobic capacity. Meanwhile, the main psychological factors are anxiety and self-confidence. Secondly, physiological, biomotor, and psychological aspects were shown to contribute 68.7% to kurash sport performance, while anthropometric data was deemed insufficient to determine the main factors affecting performance. Biomotor, physiological, and psychological variables had a significant influence on kurash sport. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that biomotor, physiological, and psychological factors substantially affect the performance of Kurash athletes. However, certain constraints, such as the restricted sample size and lack of longitudinal assessment, affected the results. Future research should use larger samples and more comprehensive approaches to investigate the development of physical and psychological elements in Kurash.

Abstract

Background: Early sports specialization is often driven by the pursuit of achieving elite performance levels at younger ages. However, growing concerns have emerged regarding the potential negative consequences of this specialization, particularly the increased risk of injuries and the potential for psychological burnout among young athletes. Purpose: The primary purpose of this study is to systematically review the current body of literature to assess the impact of early sports specialization on the risk of injury in young athletes. Method: A systematic literature search was conducted utilizing the Sage and PubMed databases to identify relevant studies published between 2019 and 2025.  To maintain a focus on youth athletes in competitive or elite settings, studies that centered on recreational athletes were excluded from the analysis. Result: Early sports specialization is associated with a higher risk of injury among young athletes. This increased risk particularly applies to overuse injuries, such as stress fractures, tendinopathies, and joint issues, and psychological burnout. Conversely, athletes who engaged in multiple sports throughout their developmental years demonstrated a significantly lower risk of injury and reported higher levels of enjoyment and motivation in their chosen sports. Implications and Recommendation: Importance of re-evaluating current practices in youth athletic development programs. Sports organizations, coaches, and parents should exercise caution in promoting early specialization among young athletes and instead support a more balanced approach to youth training. Delaying specialization until after puberty and encouraging participation in multiple sports can enhance motor skill development and reduce the risk of injuries.

Abstract

Appropriate training zone, energy, and distance calculations strongly affect swimmer performance. Strong aerobic and anaerobic skills help swimmers compete. Improving 50-meter freestyle swimming speed requires proper training methods like Tabata water training. This study examines whether Tabata Water Training speeds 50-meter freestyle. His quasi-experimental study uses a pretest-posttest single-group paradigm. A sample of 16 Pradah Swimming Club members was chosen. Active members who had recently competed in regional competitions and gotten constant coaching from licensed instructors were chosen. Such inclusion criteria guaranteed that respondents had extensive training and competition experience, which is essential for study validity. The measurement of 50 meters of swimming time before and after therapy was the tool used. The important variations between pre-test and post-test scores were investigated by means of a paired sample t-test on data. Data normalality was evaluated using a Shapiro-Wilk test before the test. Should the data show a non-normal distribution, a Wilcoxon signed-rank test served as a non-parametric substitute. P 0.05 was the specified significance threshold. The results showed a significant increase in swimming speed after following the training program, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The average swimming time increased from 46.36 seconds (pre-test) to 42.20 seconds (post-test). In conclusion, Tabata Water Training works well to improve 50-meter freestyle swimming speed. This study offers empirical data that allows coaches to use water-based HIIT techniques as an effective substitute training tool to improve swimmer performance.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-efficacy and mental toughness with futsal athlete performance through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). From 15 scientific articles analyzed, it was found that self-efficacy, a player's belief in their own abilities, plays a crucial role in improving motivation, decision-making, and persistence during matches. Meanwhile, mental toughness helps athletes manage stress, recover from failure, and maintain focus amidst the fast-paced and intense dynamics of futsal play. The interaction between the two strengthens a player's ability to perform optimally in stressful competitive situations. This study emphasizes the importance of developing psychological training programs that integrate self-efficacy and mental toughness to maximize futsal athlete performance. Furthermore, further research is needed to examine the influence of these psychological variables across different cultural contexts, genders, and levels of competition.
