Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) the effect of rubber training on Kisame Tsuki's punches; (2) increase in Kisame Tsuki's punch speed. The design of this research is quantitative using a Two Group Pretest Posttest design, namely an experimental design carried out on two different groups, namely the rubber group and the control group. The population of this study were senior athletes aged 21 years and over. The sample for this study was 14 kumite athletes taken using a random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used was the Independent Sample T-test with a significance level of ? = 0.05. The research results are as follows. (1) There is an influence of rubber training on Kisame Tsuki Sig's punches. (2-tailed) (0.004) < 0.05 and also the calculated t value (3.613) > t table (2.447); (2) There was a significant increase in Kisame Tsuki's punch speed as seen from the rubber group's gain score of 0.49, which means there was a moderate increase. So training using rubber tools has an influence in increasing the speed of Kisame Tsuki's punches in UNJ Student Karate athletes.

Abstract

Background: The development of young athletes often faces issues related to short-term achievement orientation, early specialization practices, and the limited implementation of science-based approaches. Such conditions pose risks of recurring injuries, burnout, and suboptimal development of fundamental movement skills, which are essential as the foundation for long-term achievement. Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) emerges as a long-term athlete development model that emphasizes the alignment of training programs with the stages of growth, development, and biological maturity of young athletes. Purpose: to comprehensively examine LTAD strategies in optimizing movement skills while preventing injuries in young athletes. Methods: The research method used is a literature review by analyzing various scientific articles, research reports, and relevant sources discussing the implementation of LTAD, particularly related to fitness components such as strength, power, speed, agility, and aerobic fitness. Results: the integration of LTAD with training models such as resistance training and plyometric training has proven effective in improving fundamental movement skills, physical capacity, and reducing injury risk in young athletes. Furthermore, previous studies also emphasize that the application of LTAD can increase motivation, long-term participation in sports, and support the achievement of sustainable performance. Conclusion: LTAD is an important strategy in developing young athletes because it can optimize physical development, movement skills, and long-term health. Implications and Recommendation: coaches, sports practitioners, and development institutions need to implement LTAD systematically, adaptively, and with an orientation toward building healthy, resilient, and sustainable athletes.

Abstract

The use of technology in evaluating the results of football matches has been used in various countries. This study aimed to identify and analyze the match results of the Argentina national team as the 2022 World Cup champion team. This research was a descriptive quantitative research that was analyzed in statistical form. The data sources were collected by the researcher by analyzing statistical data and video recordings of matches from the official FIFA website, Whoscored and Vidio. A total of 7 matches had been played by the Argentina national team in the 2022 World Cup competition, analyzed in terms of goals, ball possession, attempts at goal, direction of attack, distribution and defense. The results showed that most goals were scored in the 31-45th minute and most conceded in the 76-90 th minute, with the most ways being open play, most goals scored in area 3 with the striker being the top scorer. Argentina is quite dominant and controls the match in ball possession, attempt on target and total distribution (passing success, crossing success, and line breaks success) in every match with many attacks started from the right. When carrying out defensive pressure and tackles, Argentina is also more effective than its opponent. In this study, it could be concluded that the parameters to achieve victory were not only from ball possession, attempt success, and passing success but also seen from distribution parameters (crossing and line break success) and defensive parameters, especially defensive pressure which was also an indicator of team success in a match. It is hoped that in the future there will be further research discussing the successful journey of a team in several competitions followed by analysis parameters that are not much different, especially with a more detailed analysis of distribution and defense systems.

Abstract

Background Problems: Kurash is a traditional martial art and sport that plays an important role in promoting physical culture and a healthy lifestyle among young people. However, the specific physical and psychological factors that influence performance in Kurash, a martial arts sport, remain unclear. Research Objectives: This study aims to identify the dominant physical and psychological elements affecting Kurash sport performance. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive correlational approach was employed, involving 12 coaches and 40 Kurash athletes from South Kalimantan. Physical indicators were measured using anthropometric data (e.g., height, arm length) and biomotor skills (e.g., muscle strength, flexibility, speed). Aerobic tests assessed physiological capacity, and validated questionnaires evaluated psychological factors such as anxiety, concentration, self-confidence, and motivation. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS). Findings and Results: The study's results revealed two main findings. First, the dominant physical factors in kurash sport include arm muscle strength, back and leg muscle strength, flexibility, balance, arm muscle explosiveness, speed, and aerobic capacity. Meanwhile, the main psychological factors are anxiety and self-confidence. Secondly, physiological, biomotor, and psychological aspects were shown to contribute 68.7% to kurash sport performance, while anthropometric data was deemed insufficient to determine the main factors affecting performance. Biomotor, physiological, and psychological variables had a significant influence on kurash sport. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that biomotor, physiological, and psychological factors substantially affect the performance of Kurash athletes. However, certain constraints, such as the restricted sample size and lack of longitudinal assessment, affected the results. Future research should use larger samples and more comprehensive approaches to investigate the development of physical and psychological elements in Kurash.
