Abstract

Basically every parent wants their child to be happy, in good health, and have good behavior. Parents also try their best to nurture and care for and guide their children to have better character, in this case parents also have their own way of educating their children so that their children do not fall into negative things by means of violence so that researchers are interested in researching problems in Temburun Village, East Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the treatment of parents in raising children, to determine the treatment of parents in providing education to children and to determine the effect of parenting deviations on children. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The technique in determining the informants used purposive sampling technique with a total of 10 informants obtained from the main informants, namely the Temburun Village community and elements of the government. This research uses role theory by Biddle Thomas. The findings of this study are 1). The existence of acts of violence is caused by parents who want their children to be children who are devoted to their parents and do not violate parental orders. 2). Acts of violence against children are caused by venting parents' frustration on other people. 3). There is a lack of public awareness of acts of violence against children. The conclusion is that there are still acts of violence against children in Temburun Village, East Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency, such as hitting, snapping, confining, pinching, slapping, and stomping on children. With this incident, it is hoped that the Anambas Islands Regency government should pay more attention to children's development by providing counseling for parents on better children.

Abstract

Sago one of the food sources with high carbohydrate content. Sago also has a very high cultural value as one of the local wisdom in traditional communities that has always been maintained for generations. The potential of sago is developed as a food substitute for rice, a factor that affects the existence of sago through science and technology sago is processed with various kinds of products with processing that attracts young people. The purpose of this research is to find out that sago still exists today with a variety of preparations made from sago-based ingredients. The foods that exist are ring crackers, bangkit cakes, lenggang sago chips, laksa, kepurun, sapwood, sago plates, lambok. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods by collecting data on observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers used Distingsi theory (Pierre Bourdieu) which explains the recombination of cultural aspects, especially high culture, with an anthropological understanding of culture as a whole including its high and low aspects. In this context, it has a high taste value with food made from staple ingredients. The results of this research are food processed from sago dasr ingredients. It has a very high cultural value so that it still exists, besides that sago can also be processed into various types of food and has a unique taste, and is well known to the wider community.

Abstract

The fishermen in Pemping Village, Rear Padang District, Batam City, are poverty-stricken in terms of fulfilling basic needs for the dynamics that occur in the eyes, causing the search for fish to be not optimal and not getting high selling prices for fish. In addition to poverty affecting fishermen caused by educational background, fishing that is not optimal, and not getting high selling prices, fishermen from the Pemping Village are also faced with problems with illegal smuggling activities. Furthermore, the Pemping community faces restricted access to fishing areas. International fishing transactions to Singapore, due to the increasing stringency of regulations by the two countries, requires the form of a strategy to meet the daily needs of fishing families. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The theory used is French Fukuyama's social capital as an analytical knife in this study. The results of this study are the trust of fellow fishermen gaining trust in the form of work, lending, and borrowing money. The two values and norms that are applied in society include maintaining friendship, helping each other, and feeling the same fate. The three social networks that exist among fishermen, relatives, and neighbors are used to obtain information on potential fish stocks and job vacancies, as well as obtain information on access to selling to middlemen at higher prices. Other strategies are adding working hours, looking for side jobs, and taking advantage of the potential of families in every house holds including women in fulfilling family needs.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and further understand the forms of alienation experienced by the workers at PT Efra shipyard in their social, political, and cultural lives. The theory used in this study is the theory of alienation, which refers to the experience of individuals perceiving themselves as detached from the world. The process of alienation has transformed humans from creative subjects into passive objects in social processes. This study adopts a qualitative research design, conducted at PT Efra in Tanjungpinang. The informants were selected through purposeful sampling, considering their ability to provide the necessary information. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis employed three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The dinding of this research reveal that the workers at the shipyard experience alienation in their social lives, work environment, political engagement, and social interactions. Furthermore, the study identifies several job classifications that contribute to the workers' alienation at PT Efra based on their individual experiences. This research contributes to expanding the understanding of the phenomenon of worker alienation. It uncovers the factors causing alienation and its impact on the workers' social lives. The conclusion of the study indicates that the researchers themselves are alienated in four areas of life: social, political, and cultural, due to their work commitments, which prevent them from contributing to these aspects of life. The job types that most contribute to the workers' alienation are Fitter, Blasting, and Welder.

Abstract

Skin care are a social reality that has mushroomed in social life, not only the upper age layer but also the lower age layer often use skin care. This society is synonymous with adolescence as seen from the status of those who are still in school due to the role of social media and also influencer reviewers, thus creating construction social media in the use of skin care by teenagers. The research entitled Social Construction of Beautiful Consept Adolescents in Tanjungpinang City. In order to be able to answer this problem, the theory put forward by Peter L. Berger is Construction Social. Among other things, by using the social definition paradigm by using qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques in this study used observation data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation. In this study there were 10 people as informants with purposive sampling technique. This study does not blame the use of skin care as a right or wrong behavior, but this research explains how to use skin care according to age, safety in use, avoiding extravagant living, so it doesn't change the meaning of beauty.

Abstract

The billiards game has become a deviant behavior for the community in Kiabu Village, the deviation occurs because of the gambling element in it. Billiards gambling that occurs among the Kiabu Village community is due to weak social control which causes unrest in the community. This research uses a qualitative approach, selecting informants using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out in three stages, namely by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use social control theory by Travis Hirschi. Data collection techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study found that billiard games became gambling activities due to weak social control which should be carried out by families who have an important attachment and role in self-control to prevent family members from doing deviant behavior, education where boring learning methods make students bored to learn and feel bored in the educational environment, and village government where the lack of efforts from the village government in dealing with billiard gambling marks the weak relationship between the community and the village government. The conclusion of this study is that billiard gambling occurs due to weak external control, where the weak attachment between family, education, and village government to billiard gambling offenders that should exist in Kiabu Village.

Abstract

The phenomenon that is happening now is that female students are competing to show an attractive appearance through thrift shopping. The purpose of this study was to find out Thrift Shopping as a Lifestyle for Tanjungpinang Students and in this study used Chaney's theory (2009:41). The method in this study the authors used a qualitative descriptive research type where in this study used 10 informants with interview and observation data collection techniques. Based on the results of the research, it is known that it is found that the attitude of students buys goods because the prices are much cheaper and the benefits they get are the same as buying new clothes. Students feel lucky because they get goods with well-known brands, students believe that what they wear will be a concern and identity for themselves, therefore some prefer branded items, rather than buying new clothes that are not branded. The conclusion in this study is thrift shopping as a lifestyle for Tanjungpinang students. In this case, students carry out thrifting with the aim of getting clothes with well-known brands besides that clothes with well-known brands are considered to have good quality. Therefore, in doing thrifting, it is clear to get branded and quality clothing, regardless of the main function of clothing is to cover and protect the body.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how cyber crime is in the practice of online soccer gambling in Tanjungpinang. The object of this research is a coffee shop or kafe in the Bulit Bestari Village, Tanjungpinang City., the perpetrators' knowledge of cyber crime from online soccer gambling games. The results gambling carried out by informants is motivated by environmental factors of friendship, the existence of internet facilities that can support perpetrators to play online gambling freely. As well as the online soccer betting factor, it is confidential and easy to play anywhere and anytime. Informants know that playing online soccer gambling is a form of violation of the law. But they still do this because online gambling is difficult for the general public to detect. The behavior of cybercrime perpetrators of online soccer gambling starts from the process of communication and interaction that occurs in the social environment continuously. The sense of satisfaction and pleasure from playing soccer has made online soccer gambling even more desirable apart from the ease of accessing soccer gambling sites, which is very easy for anyone to do.

Abstract

Value is a person's objective view based on behavior that is adjusted to the circumstances in everyday life. Abstinence is a number of provisions that should not be violated by community members, even though some people think that abstinence is a myth. Pantang larang in Kelumu Village, Lingga Regency is related to pantang larang in protecting nature where Kelumu Village has natural resources that are still maintained marked by the potential of marine resources such as fish, coral reefs and mangrove forests. With the rapid development of the times at this time, the people of Kelumu Village began to be able to adapt by using motorized vehicles and could feel the convenience in various fields of life such as education, economy, health and communication, so that with the development of the times in this era of globalization can lead to changes in the level of trust. There are some people who do not believe in all superstitions such as supernatural beings and reading spells. The descriptive qualitative research method then the data sourced from literature studies, field observations, interviews and documentation are analyzed by data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing stages. The results of the study, the value of pantang larang in protecting nature in the Kelumu Village community at this time has begun to fade, in this globalization era people began to believe less in the customs and culture that their ancestors believed in. Pantang larang such as zikir saman, sea defense and land defense have begun to fade. Based on the results of research that has been conducted by researchers regarding the Fading of Pantang Larang Values in Protecting Nature in the Kelumu Village Community of Lingga Regency, it can be concluded that Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world consisting of islands. Of the three cultures there are taboos and prohibitions. Where the taboos and prohibitions have an important role in protecting the natural environment in Kelumu Village, such as prohibiting people from entering the forest, fishing, hunting, and cutting trees during the village defense ritual.

Abstract

Students who live with modernization have shifted the value of attitude mentality as students who should read, write, research, discuss and become individuals who are rich in knowledge on the college board, but it cannot be said that all students are involved in hedonism. The purpose of this study was to measure the level of hedonism and lifestyle among Umrah students. This study uses a quantitative approach where the X1 indicator is the sign value, the X2 indicator is the symbol value and the Y indicator is Hedonism with a population-based test option and a sample of 7,658 Umrah students divided into 366 students based on research need indicators. The way to get the data is through a research questionnaire, namely using the Google form, then this study uses Jeand Baudriliad's theory about consumption and lifestyle so that the results of this study are a validity test of 366 samples with a grand mean of 60% agree with variable X1 and as many as 233 people or 63% agree with variables X2 and 234 or as much as 63.9% agree with the indicator variable Y, it can be analyzed that data analysis is carried out by grouping into categories and describing the data obtained according to the categories. This study found that the five subjects carried out activities that lead to subject pleasure such as hanging out, shopping, vacations, clubbing besides that the subject has an interest in something that is considered important and wants to be different from the surrounding environment and has hopes that lead to pleasure itself. Factors that can affect the hedonic lifestyle of students is the desire to be different so they do various ways to follow the influence of modernization. Keywords: Lifestyle, Student, Hedonism.
