Abstract

Sastra digunakan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai kehidupanpada pembaca yaitu nilai-nilai pendidikan karakterdan nilai-nilai budaya. Atas dasar itu dilakukan analisis sastra yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter dan nilai budayadari Antologi Cerpen Zulaiha Tongkang karya Hasan Al-Banna. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2022 sampai dengan April 2023. Data penelitian berupa kata-kata atau data tertulis dalam cerpen dalam antologi cerpen Zulaiha Barge karya Hasan Al-Banna. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan teknik pencatatan dokumen dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data nilai-nilai pendidikan karakterdan nilai-nilai budayadalam cerpen—teknik analisis data dengan cara analisis interaktif. Prosedur penelitian meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan laporan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa aspek nilai pendidikan karakteryang paling banyak ditemukan adalah aspek penulisan sosial. Nilai pendidikan karakter dalam antologi cerpen Zulaiha Barge dapat digolongkan pada religiusitas, kepedulian terhadap sesama, kepedulian terhadap diri sendiri, dan nasionalisme. Nilai-nilai budaya yang paling banyak ditemukanadalah nilai-nilaiberhubungan dengan masyarakat. Nilai-nilai budayadalam antologi cerpen Zulaiha tongkang karya Hasan Al-Banna merupakan representasi kebudayaan Sumatera Utara. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan kisah adat dan larangan di Sumatera Utara yang terdapat dalam antologi cerpen Zulaiha Tongkang ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in reading comprehension, particularly in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 7 Medan. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach and a pretest-posttest design involving two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The study sample consisted of two classes with a total of 60 students. To collect data, the researchers used multiple-choice questions. The data were then analyzed through several stages, including pre-requisite statistical tests, including normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test method. The results showed that the problem-based learning model did indeed impact students' critical thinking skills. This was evident from the posttest scores obtained, which were 85.73 in the experimental class and 66.30 in the control class. In the hypothesis testing, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted because the t-value obtained (12.193) was greater than the t-table value (2.007). The conclusion of this study is that the use of the problem-based learning model has a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills in reading comprehension.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the extent to which the application of the Discovery Learning model significantly influences the speech writing skills of eighth-grade students at Sultan Iskandar Muda Junior High School. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method, because the main focus is to test the influence or causal relationship between the use of the Discovery Learning model and students' speech writing skills. The subjects of this study were eighth-grade students of Sultan Iskandar Muda Junior High School. Class VIII was selected based on the consideration that at this level students already have basic writing skills, but still require further guidance in composing systematic and communicative speech texts. The study population consisted of 32 students, and the sampling technique used was total sampling, so that all members of the population were used as research samples. The results showed that the application of Discovery Learning (variable X) had a positive and significant influence on students' speech writing skills (variable Y) in the Indonesian Language subject. In other words, the more optimal the application of the Discovery Learning model, the better the students' ability to write speech texts effectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur, fungsi, dan relevansi legenda “Telaga Pitu Sarinembah” dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA Negeri 1 Longkib. Legenda ini tidak hanya menyampaikan bersifat hiburan atau mitis saja, tetapi memiliki fungsi yang mencerminkan sistem nilai masyarakat Karo yang menjunjung tinggi etika dan kearifan lokal dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif yang mendeskripsikan struktur, fungsi, dan relevansi legenda “Telaga Pitu Sarinembah” dengan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan terdiri atas daftar pertanyaan wawancara, rubrik lembar pengamatan atau observasi, dokumentasi, dan analisis konten. Setelah data diperoleh, langkah berikutnya peneliti menganalisis data dengan melakukan reduksi data, menyusun simpulan. Proses penyusunan data yang telah dikumpul dibuat lebih terstruktur agar lebih mudah dipahami untuk dibuat simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa legenda ini memiliki unsur narasi yang baik dimulai dari tema kebaikan, kerendahan hati tokoh protagonis, hingga alur cerita yang membawa pembaca menuju klimaks dan penyelesaian yang lebih menyentuh. Legenda ini dapat direpresentasikan sebagai media pelestarian identitas budaya masyarakat Karo dengan kehidupan masyarakat Subulussalam dan memperkuat relevansinya dalam konteks pendidikan di SMA Negeri 1 Longkib. Nilai-nilai pentingnya mematuhi aturan, menjaga keseimbangan sosial, menghormati alam, dan memahami akibat dari pelanggaran norma masih sangat hidup dalam kehidupan sehari-hari perlu dilestarikan di lingkungan sekolah.
