Abstract

Multicultural education is an important investment for the future. By providing inclusive education and respecting differences, we can create a generation that is more tolerant, open and ready to face global challenges. This article attempts to explain the meaning of multicultural education by Abdurrahman Wahid, Nurcholis Madjid and Ahmad Syafi'i Ma'arif by comparing and analyzing the relevance of the concept of the three ideas in education in Indonesia. Analysis This research is included in the descriptive analytic category where researchers compose descriptions and analyzes using discourse analysis to avoid overlapping data. Thus, the data analysis technique used is the descriptive analysis method. The aim of this research is firstly, Islamic education must be able to produce a young generation who is not only intellectually intelligent, but also has strong character and noble morals. Second, these three figures have provided a very valuable legacy of thought for the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. The concept of multicultural Islamic education that they promote is very relevant to the challenges of the modern era, where society lives in diversity. The three ideas presented have very high relevance in the context of education in Indonesia. The multicultural Islamic education they promote can be a solution to overcome various social problems faced by the Indonesian people, such as radicalism, intolerance and division. Examples include elementary schools studying various types of traditional food from various regions in Indonesia, making handicrafts typical of various tribes, and holding exhibitions of students' work. Middle School holds debates on social issues relevant to diversity, such as discrimination, tolerance, and human rights. Universities hold international seminars by inviting speakers from various countries to share experiences and knowledge.

Abstract

The research is aimed to: (1) identify a factual model of learning evaluation of Islamic Religious and Moral Education (PAI-BP); (2) develop the PAI-BP learning evaluation model to suit the needs of the high school education level; and (3) knowing and analyzing the effectiveness of the PAI-BP learning evaluation development model at the high school education level in Karanganyar Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year. The type of the research is development research targetting the evaluation model for Islamic Religious and Moral Education (PAI-BP) for high school level. The data collection method was done using observation, in-depth interviews, document analysis, tests, and questionnaires techniques. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The research concluded that: (1) The factual model of the evaluation of Islamic Religious Education and Moral Education (PAI-BP) at the high school education level currently done separately between the process of learning and its product; (2) The evaluation model developed has two main components, namely: the learning process and output. The learning process includes four subcomponents, namely: (a) teachers’ performance in the classroom, (b) teachers’ personality, (c) students’ behavior, and (d) learning facilities. Whereas the learning output includes four sub-components, namely aspects: (a) akidah akhlaq, (b) Qur'an-Hadith, (c) Fiqh, and (d) Islamic history; and (3) The effectiveness of the PAI-BP learning evaluation model developed shows that based on the experts, user and practitioner assessments, the model developed is considered as a Good model to evaluate PAI-BP learning at high school level education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk menganalisa implementasi, kelebihan dan kekurangan serta alasan metode qiro’ah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al Quran manula pada Majelis Ta’lim Lalung Karanganyar.  Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan (Field Reseach). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan deskriptif. Data primer yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengajar dan masyarakat di Manula Majelis Ta’lim Lalung Karanganyar. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan trianggulasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Implementasi metode Qiro’ah di Majleis Ta’lim Lalung Karanganyar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an dan merupakan  metode yang sesuai dengan manula yang belajar membaca Al-Qur’an (dalam hal ini orang dewasa yang kembali belajar membaca Al-Qur’an). Kelebihan dari metode Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Metode Qiro’ah di Majelis Ta’lim Manula Lalung Karanganyar adalah Menggunakan media gambar, Seimbang penguasaan huruf, Langsung praktek ilmu tajwid, ghorib, makhorijul huruf, Fleksibel mengajarkanya, Cocok untuk semua umur, Bukunya berkualitas, Bisa diajarkan secara privat dan klaksikal, Bersetifikat bagi guru yang sudah mengikuti TOT (Training Of  Tutor), Target jelas dan terukur (12 x pertemuan @ 60 menit),  Lancar karena  pemberian materi diulang ulang, Diajarkan motivasi dan hikmah, Dinul Islam, Doa Harian, Prinsip Pencari ilmu dan Doa Khotmil Qur’an. Adapun kekurangan metode qiro’ah adalah bukunya masih terbatas, Minimnya guru yang profesional di bidangnya, Rasio guru dengan santri yang tidak memadai atau kurang proposional, Minimnya jumlah guru yang   mememiliki sertifikat metode Qiro’ah, Membutuhkan dana yang besar untuk mengadakan evaluasi,  khataman dari Yayasan pusat metode Qiro’ah. Metode Qiro’ah  dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an pada masyarakat manula karanganuar dengan alasan: Materi metode qiro’ah sudah tersusun dengan baik sehingga mudah untuk dipahami, media gambar sebagai pembelajaran metode qiro’ah sangat menarik dan metode qiro’ah memiliki evaluasi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Islamic character education plays a crucial role in supporting the moral and spiritual development of students in Islamic higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the influence of uswah hasanah and religious maturity on Islamic character education among students at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Ulil Abshar Ponorogo. The research employed a quantitative survey design, involving 200 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Classical assumption tests, including normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation, were conducted before  regression  analysis.  The  results  indicate  that  uswah  hasanah  has  a  positive  and  significant partial effect of 44,1% on Islamic character education, while religious maturity contributes a positive and  significant  effect  of  41,5%.  Simultaneously,  both  variables  explain  56,4%  of  the  variance  in students’ Islamic character  education, with the remaining 43,6% influenced by factors outside the study. These findings highlight the importance of exemplary behavior and religious maturity as key determinants  of  Islamic  character  formation  and  emphasize  the  need  for  a  holistic  approach integrating religious, social, and everyday experiential aspects in character development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teacher competency education in reading and memorizing the Qur'an and its contribution to improving the quality of students' recitation and memorization. This competency education directly correlates with teacher professionalism, which plays a crucial role in the success of the learning process. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study finds that professional teachers can motivate students to focus on learning to read and memorize the Qur'an. Teacher professionalism contributes to students’ recitation accuracy, memorization ability, mastery of tajwid, and mental resilience in studying the Qur’an. The findings affirm that strengthening the competence of tahfidz teachers is key to the success of Qur’anic learning programs. This competence development is essential in preserving the Qur’anic heritage and forming a Qur’anic generation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the relevance of K.H. Maimun Zubair’s concept of Nusantara Islamic education to the contemporary Indonesian education system. Nusantara Islam represents an approach to Islamic education that integrates classical Islamic scholarship, local cultural wisdom, and national values. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method based on document analysis and in-depth interviews as secondary support. The findings indicate that K.H. Maimun Zubair’s educational thought is constructed upon three main pillars: mastery of classical Islamic knowledge, integration of nationalism and religious commitment, and emphasis on moral character and exemplary conduct. These principles correspond with current educational priorities in Indonesia, particularly in strengthening character education, promoting religious moderation, and fostering social harmony. The study further reveals that the relevance of this concept lies in its potential contribution to reducing ideological polarization and reinforcing inclusive religious attitudes among students. This research concludes that the educational model developed by K.H. Maimun Zubair offers a contextual and culturally grounded framework that can enrich national education policies and practices in Indonesia.
