Abstract

AbstractVideo clips as a communication media used to convey the message of a song through visual production and dramatization of scenes, have now become a medium of representation of social and cultural phenomena through the operational signs system, as it appears in the Wonderland Indonesia 2 video clip. This study aims to analyze and reveal how Ibu Pertiwi is represented in the Wonderland Indonesia 2 through Julia Kristeva’s intertextual semiotics, by identifying the forms of intertextuality that appear in the video clip and interpreting the meaning of the representation of Ibu Pertiwi. The results of the study show that scenes relevant to the representation of Ibu Pertiwi were found, such as movements, costumes, and cinematic techniques, as well as story construction. There are three scenes that intertextually refer to the Ibu Pertiwi as found in Sanskrit texts in Indonesia and other mythological texts in the world. Then there are six scenes in the form of intertextual scene plots referring to the image of Ibu Pertiwi as found in the nation's historical text, namely three scenes referring to “The Burning of the Village by the Military General Spoor” and three scenes referring to excerpts from the national song “Kulihat Ibu Pertiwi”. Several previous studies have discussed the representation of national and cultural identity in digital visual media. Thus, the findings of this study broaden the scope of the study of visual identity in Indonesian digital culture and strengthen the relevance of intertextuality theory in reading symbolic constructions in new media spaces.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing intensity of media coverage on the United States (U.S.)–Israel–Iran conflict and the role of media in constructing reality through framing. It aims to analyze how Metro TV frames the conflict using Murray Edelman’s framing model. This research employs a qualitative approach within a constructivist paradigm, with the unit of analysis being a news text titled “The Betrayal of the U.S.–Israel in Violating the Ceasefire with Iran.” Data were collected through audio-visual observation and documentation, and analyzed using categorization and rubrication devices. The findings indicate that Metro TV constructs reality through a dichotomous schema of “us” versus “them.” Iran is represented as a defensive, legitimate, and diplomatically oriented actor, while the U.S. and Israel are framed as aggressive, inconsistent, and violators of international norms. At the rubrication level, the conflict is positioned within the domains of international politics and humanitarian crisis, implicitly marginalizing economic and structural geopolitical dimensions. These findings confirm that media coverage is not neutral, but reflects ideological tendencies that shape public perception. This study contributes to political communication and media studies by reinforcing the role of media as an agent of symbolic construction in global conflict discourse. The findings in this study also show the importance of media literacy in understanding international conflict reporting, because media can construct reality through diction choices, actor labeling, and the highlighting of certain issues that have the potential to influence how audiences interpret an event.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve digital literacy and QRIS adoption among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sidowayah Village, Klaten Regency. The program was implemented from August to November 2025 through the MBKM Diktisaintek Berdampak program, with door-to-door mentoring, QRIS registration assistance, and post-program monitoring. This study used the Diffusion of Innovation Theory and the Integrated Technology Acceptance and Use Theory (UTAUT) to understand the factors influencing technology adoption. The results showed that 5 out of 10 targeted MSMEs were able to adopt QRIS, especially the culinary sector, which had the highest adoption rate due to the need for fast transactions and increasing demand for digital payments from customers. The program also faced several challenges, including limited internet connectivity, low digital literacy, and psychological barriers such as fear of making technical errors. However, intensive mentoring in the community has been shown to increase MSMEs' confidence in using digital payment systems. This program demonstrates that collaborative and sustainable mentoring can facilitate the digital transformation of rural MSMEs and empower the community economy

Abstract

The "Brimob crashes into online motorcycle taxi" incident that occurred on August 28, 2025, garnered widespread attention on social media and revealed differing narratives between public media and the police institution. Social media has become important news in shaping public perception thru the meanings and symbolism present in the media. This research aims to determine how the @soloposofficial account frames the event in video uploads on TikTok. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis with Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis, using the main structures in analyzing media, namely: syntactic structure (information and narrative arrangement in the video), script structure (event delivery flow), thematic structure (patterns of meaning and main issues), and rhetorical structure (language style, visuals, and message symbols). The research results show that the @soloposofficial account frames events as a social conflict issue. With dramatic aspects, video searches at the scene, and public response. Not all responses on that platform convey a uniform perspective on the current hot topic; each account actually demonstrates a different way of using digital language to create meaning. It's clear how each party's communicative approach reveals its own goals some want to clarify, while others are more focused on protecting the institution's reputation. From this, it's clear that online tactics are not just a tool for disseminating information, but a form of strategic interaction influenced by the context of the content. Abstract

The development of digital media, especially YouTube, has become an important tool in disseminating social issues, including the Family Planning (FP) program. One of the contents that has attracted public attention is a video on Kang Dedi Mulyadi's YouTube channel entitled "Father of 11 Children Asks for Time for Istikharah When KDM Invites to Use KB," which raises the invitation to perform vasectomy as a form of male responsibility in birth control and family economic readiness. This study aims to analyze the reception of the message conveyed in the video by the Klapanunggal community, Bogor Regency. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm and the Stuart Hall reception analysis method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of 10 informants consisting of 5 married couples. The analysis was conducted using the Stuart Hall encoding ecoding model that groups the audience into Dominant, Negotiated, and Oppositional positions. The results showed that the audience's interpretations were diverse, with 4 informants in the Dominant position, 2 informants in the Negotiated position, and 4 informants in the Oppositional position. Differences in reception were influenced by factors such as religion, culture, education, personal experience, and knowledge about vasectomy. The study concluded that the video was effective in sparking public discussion, but it did not yet produce a consensus on a dominant meaning within the community.
