Abstract

The process of learning physical education in schools is influenced by nutrition, physical activity, and students' cognitive functions. The purpose of this study was to find out how students' nutritional status, physical activity, and cognitive function relate to their performance in physical education classes at school. This type of research is called correlational research. 98,289 junior high school students in Bandung, West Java Province, became the study population. Simple random sampling strategy for sampling 1870 students into the research sample. This study uses primary data provided from students' assessments of nutritional condition, physical activity, and cognitive function and secondary data provided from physical education teachers. The data collection method was in the form of a questionnaire to measure cognitive function, physical activity, and nutritional status, as well as student test scores from teachers to measure learning outcomes. Correlation analysis and multiple regression, as well as the F test, were used as data analysis methods in this study. Data analysis through computerized procedures using the SPSS application The tests needed are the normality test and the linearity test before testing the hypothesis. The findings demonstrate a significant correlation between learning outcomes and nutritional status, physical activity, and cognitive function. However, it is important to note that the research scope was limited to the field of physical education and the selected research subjects. Nonetheless, these results contribute to existing knowledge and can serve as a guide for future studies, particularly in the domain of physical education, aiming to optimise learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh gaya mengajar divergent discovery terhadap nilai-nilai kemandirian dalam pembelajaran bola basket. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pra-eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah SRSSDL (Self-Rating Scale of Self Directed Learning). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa ekstrakurikuler SMA Negeri 9 Bandung. Teknik sampel yang diterapkan adalah total sampling, sebab yang merujuk pada penentuan sampel dengan melibatkan seluruh populasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 12 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji one sample t-Test yang diperoleh nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 0,05, maka terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari kemandirian belajar siswa. Kesimpulannya bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari gaya mengajar divergent discovery terhadap nilai-nilai kemandirian dalam pembelajaran bola basket.This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the divergent discovery teaching style on the values of independence in learning basketball. The research method used is experimentation with pre-experimentation. This research design uses a one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used is SRSSDL (Self-Rating Scale of Self-Directed Learning). The population in this study were extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 9 Bandung. The sampling technique applied is total sampling, because it refers to determining the sample by involving the entire population. The sample in this research was 12 students. Data analysis was carried out using the one sample t-Test which obtained a sig value. equal to 0.000 0.05, then there is a significant influence on student learning independence. The conclusion is that there is an influence of the divergent discovery teaching style on the values of independence in learning basketball.

Abstract

Sports provide physical benefits and help people with special needs to be disciplined in managing their time and being wise. This research aims to analyse the contribution of sports training in building the discipline of athletes with special needs in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. A total of 47 athletes were the research samples, taken using purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments are a questionnaire sheet and Google form for the implementation of sports training, a questionnaire for the discipline of athletes with special needs, which have been tested for validity and reliability—data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis, linear regression analysis and determination tests. The contribution of sports training in building the disciplined character of athletes with special needs is 45.6% in the moderate category; factors/variables outside the research cause other influences. Sports training contributes to building the disciplined character of athletes with special needs in Indonesia, with the amount of contribution being in the moderate category. Knowing the impact of sports training on the character of athletes with special needs in Indonesia shows that sport contributes to building discipline. This conclusion is helpful as it provides information and data for the progress of sports and is a basis for diagnosing the development of athlete character and personality, specifically regarding the disciplinary character of athletes with special needs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Lactic acid is a by-product of anaerobic metabolism and is commonly associated with muscle fatigue. However, recent research suggests that lactic acid may also positively affect cognitive function. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between lactic acid and cognitive function in female volleyball athletes. The study involved 12 female volleyball players from the Student Education and Training Centre (PPLP) of Riau Province, and a total sampling method was utilised. Data collection involved cognitive function tests using the Concentration Grid Test (CGT) instrument and lactic acid measurements using Accutrend lactate. The results revealed a significant correlation between lactic acid and cognitive function, with athletes with higher lactic acid levels after the training session performing better on cognitive tests. This suggests that lactic acid may enhance cognitive function by increasing glucose availability, which serves as the brain’s primary energy source. However, it is essential to consider the potential negative effects of excessive lactic acid levels, such as muscle fatigue, breakdown, and lactic acidosis, on both of the body and brain. Despite demonstrating the role of lactic acid in cognitive function among female volleyball athletes, caution must be exercised to prevent undue lactic acid production. Overall, this study provides valuable insight into the intricate relationship between lactic acid and cognitive function, which has implications for optimising cognitive ability in female volleyball athletes and potentially in other professional sports. Future research is needed to establish optimal lactic acid levels for cognitive function in diverse athletic contexts.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study with a correlational design that aims to determine the relationship between motor learning and cognitive function in students of public elementary schools in Kuantan Tengah District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The population of this study was fifth grade students for the 2022/2023 school year, with a population of 627 children spread across 27 public elementary schools. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling. With this technique, I obtained a sample of 94 students. Methods of data collection using tests and measurements of cognitive function and movement skills Cognitive function uses the Concentration Grid Test (CGT) instrument and movement skills by observing movement learning. The results showed that students' cognitive function was in a good category, and their movement learning was also good. The results of the correlation analysis obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.695 > rtable = 0.396. This shows that there is a significant relationship between movement learning and cognitive function in fifth grade public elementary school students in Kuantan Tengah District for the 2022/2023 academic year. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of the research is that one student's movement learning is influenced by cognitive function. Students who have good cognitive function tend to have good movement skills.

Abstract

In this study, researchers aimed to find out the effect of giving honey on cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle endurance and power in rowing athletes in Bandung City. This study uses a quantitative approach. Experimental method, using a pretest-posttest control group design form through 3 stages, pretest, treatment, and posttest. Researchers used a rowing ergometer test with a distance of 2000 meters and 100 meters. This research involved 14 rowing athletes from the city of Bandung. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. Hypothesis testing uses SPSS version 27 with paired simple t test and independent simple t test techniques. The results showed that giving honey had an influence on cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle endurance and power in rowing athletes in Bandung City.

Abstract

Kesehatan fisik dan mental merupakan kebutuhan dan dambaan semua manusia. Aktivitas sehari-hari tidak akan berjalan baik tanpa didukung dengan kesehatan yang baik. Untuk meraih kondisi kesehatan yang baik perlu usaha dan upaya yang harus dikerjakan oleh setiap individu. Usaha dan upaya meraih derajat kesehatan ini merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi setiap orang yang wajib diperhatikan. Jika tidak, bisa jadi akan terserang berbagai penyakit. Perkembangan personal merupakan tahapan penting yang harus dilalui setiap individu. Perkembangan ini tahap demi tahap harus dilewati sesuai tugas perkembangan yang seharusnya. Jika tahapan perkembangan ini tidak dilewati sebagaimana mestinya maka akan terjadi kelainan psikologisnya. Perkembangan personal dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu perkembang personal psikologis dan perkembangan personal sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengungkap hubungan antara kesehatan fisik dan mental dengan perkembangan personal remaja Madrasah Tsanawiyah di Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah di Jawa Barat. Jumlah responden 260 siswa dari 8 sekolah. Instrumen yang digunakan di adopsi dari instrument Sport Development Index (SDI) Mutohir dan Maksum (2007). Kusioner yang dijadikan sebagai kusioner penelitian yaitu 1) Kuesioner kesehatan fisik dan mental, dan 2) kuesioner perkembangan personal. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji korelasi person product moment (PPM) yang dibantu dengan SPSS. Hasil analisis menunjukan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,646 dan siginifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Simpulan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Kesehatan fisik dan mental dengan perkembangan personal. Siswa yang memiliki kesehatan fisik dan kesehatan mental yang baik menunjukan perkembangan personal yang baik. Sebaliknya siswa yang memiliki kesehatan fisik dan kesehatan mental yang lemah menunjukan perkembangan personal yang lemah pula.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between school open space facilities and student sports participation on student physical education achievement. The sustainability of student physical education achievement is influenced by facilities and sports participation. A quantitative descriptive research methodology was used in this study. Correlation tests were used in data processing to determine how the variables are related to one another. The Sport Development Index (SDI) was used as a research tool. Students from Madrasah Tsanawiah (MTs) throughout West Java were the population of this study. A total of 260 people were sampled, and data were collected using questionnaires. There were 131 female respondents and 129 male respondents. Based on the results of the explanation between variables, a value was obtained that could indicate the correlation between Open Space Facilities and Physical Education Achievement, with a correlation coefficient value (p>0.05), namely (p=0.528), but it was not significant because the Sig value (p<0.05) was (p=0.179). The analysis of the relationship between Physical Education Achievement and Sports Participation yielded a correlation coefficient (p>0.05) of (p = 0.704), which is significant because the Sig value (p<0.05) is (p = 0.051). Adequate open space facilities, such as sports fields and play areas, contribute positively to students' interest and motivation to participate in sports activities, which ultimately impacts physical education achievement.

Abstract

Physical activity positively impacts cognitive function and can help avoid cognitive impairment. The study aimed to investigate the association between cognitive function and physical activity in junior high school students in Bandung. This research is quantitative research with a correlation analytic design. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The sampling technique used is a random sample, the sample is 1870 respondents. The questionnaire used in this study is a closed questionnaire, which is a questionnaire whose answers have been provided so that respondents only need to choose. The study found that half of the respondents with less activity experienced less cognitive function (71,8%). Almost half of the respondents had a physical activity with good cognitive function (21.6%), and a small proportion of physical activity experienced quite a number of cognitive functions (8.6%). There is a relationship between physical activity and function cognitive in students. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for further research by examining other factors related to cognitive function and other factors related to physical activity, such as gender, socioeconomic, and family factors.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between student nutritional status and learning outcomes, especially physical education in junior high schools in Bandung City, West Java Province. The research used is correlational. The population of this study amounted to 98,289 students. Sampling using a simple random sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 1870 students. This study uses primary data that is obtained from the measurement of the nutritional status of students and secondary data from physical education teachers in Bandung. The data collection tool measures nutritional status based on body mass index and learning outcomes with student scores from teachers. The data were analyzed by correlational statistics through a computerized process using the SPSS program. From the study results, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between nutritional status and learning outcomes for both male and female students in junior high school. Further research by examining other factors related to BMI and other factors related to learning outcomes, such as socioeconomic and family factors.
