Abstract

Inventory management is a general problem in manufactures, service companies, government institutions included feedmill distributor. Inventory policy in those institutions are determined by several objectives which the main are minimizing the total cost or investment inventory, the consumer satisfaction and maximizing the output efficiency. Structural problems related with feedmill inventory consists of total cost inventory, order quantity and reorder point. Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model is one of tools in order to solve problems above, in detail this tool is used to optimize feedmill inventory in the distributor level, especially in the feedmill manufacturing product, the milled corn and the rice sifting components. The result of the research shows that by using the EOQ model, there is a total cost inventory reduction, such as the feedmill manufacturing product decrease from 8,046,778 rupiahs to 1,890,865 rupiahs, the milled corn component from 1,785,721 rupiahs to 103,310 rupiahs and total cost inventory for the rice siftings component decrease from 598,812 rupiahs to 96,686 rupiahs. Based on the final result above, it is summarized that the EOQ model instrument minimized the total cost inventory in feedmill product on the distributor level.

Abstract

Usually, countries have a fundamental problem in fulfilling remote and rural island inhabitants’ logistical needs. This study was aimed to analyze the performance of logistics systems in Indonesian remote and rural islands by focusing on the Anambas Islands Regency case. We proposed a House of Sustainable Logistics method by considering and combining the framework used in the House of Quality based on the variable of sustainable logistics systems (profit, people, and the planet) with the variables of seven key general logistical drivers (infrastructure, information and communication technology, human resources, logistics service providers, regional laws and regulations, regional institutions, and key commodities.). The study results indicated five key aspects of potential prime movers to be developed (ASLDPj value = 54); they are infrastructure, human resources, logistics service providers, local laws and regulations, and key commodities.

Abstract

Dry land-based catfish fishery is one of the promising rural aquabusiness in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. There are several problems in this business, for example, supply-demand balancing, calculation accuracy of production capacity, and equitable profit distribution to each stakeholder. This research aimed to design a closed-loop supply chain of dry-land catfish industrial-fishery model by employing the system dynamics approach. Powesim Studio 7 coupled MINITAB 14 was applied to measure the robustness of the supply chain management system, to predict optimum production capacity, and to balance profit distribution. A financial analysis was also performed to determine business feasibility. Three scenarios of price were created by considering the predicted trend of catfish consumption and formulated three alternative prices by appraising the juvenile fish production, aquaculture practices, local feedstock manufactured by farmers, and fish-by products distributed by small-enterprises. Those consideration units were constructed of four observed models. The highest profit to stakeholder was obtained by scenario III that was directed to increase the juvenile fish price to Rp 240/fish, consumption-sized fish at the price of Rp 18,000/kg, fish-by product at the price of Rp 150,000/kg, and local feed at the price of Rp 9,000/kg. According to financial analysis, the four subsystems in dry land-based catfish aquabusiness were all feasible by BCR>1; PP was 5-9 years, NPV>0, PI>1, and IRR>15%/year. The implementation of the system required synergetic action among policymakers, farmer cooperative, and local innovation centers.

Abstract

Title: Risk Mitigation Of Fresh Scombridae Fish In The Upstream Supply Chain In The Fishing Port Of Tegal, Central Java ABSTRACTFresh scombridae fish has high economic value and widely utilized its potential in Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Tegalsari Tegal City. However, its availability in the field is uncertain which is the impact of decreasing production amount due to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) practices. This fish is sensitive to temperature changing and easily damaged. Such conditions are exacerbated by the poor handling of fresh fish, thus cause the supply of fresh fish with best quality is slightly reduced. The absence of a mitigation strategies against potential risks cause the fresh scombridae fish supply chain is vulnerable to uncertainty disturbance. This research aims to identify and analyze the risks event, risk agent and generates a risk mitigation strategy in the fresh scombridae fish supply chain from perspective of the collector traders. Method that used in this research to identify potential risk was house of risk (HOR), its begin by mapping all business activities through supply chain operations reference (SCOR) model. Then followed by HOR1 matrik to analyze potential risk. Furthermore, mitigation actions are deployed and analyzed using HOR2. For the result showed 22 risk events and 25 risk agents are identified. There are five most critical risk agents which derived from the highest aggregate risk potential (ARP). There are five mitigation actions proposed to be implemented.

Abstract

Abstract

Crude-Palm-Oil (CPO) is an agro-industrial commodity which has a strategic value to be developed for Indonesian economy and social welfare. Production and export of Indonesian CPO increase progressively in the view years so that CPO is one of the pre-eminent products of Indonesia. On the other hand, however, they could give two negative impacts. First, a less CPO supply for domestic market as a result of export growing. Second, a worse environment as an effect of the opening new palm plantations. We, therefore, construct and simulate the system model for analyzing the relationships between the components and for describing their behaviour within the supply chain of CPO by using a dynamic model. The result shows that in the next 30 years, the revenue of Indonesian CPO industries tends to increase. The biggest revenue will be achieved in the year 23rd. The maximum addition of plantation employees is in the year 7th as well as in the year 17th. Deforestation would be the highest in the year 7th and 17th in which 2008 as a basic year.

Abstract

The selection of supplier is a strategic decision in supply chain which increase competitive advantages. Every manufacture needs to have a standard supplier selection that appropriate with the requirement of the company. The aims of this paper are promoting some criterias of supplier selection and testing whether there are differences interests against priority criteria referred to of strata tenure distinct. Weights and priorities of the criteria tested with a method of analytic network process (ANP) are also intended to bring up a relation of mutual influence among the criteria. ANP can be used to help making decision of selection supplier and to manage supply chain performance. This paper shows the criteria that influence are the past perfomance, price, communication systems, and a supplier of professionalism is the priority for the production of the company. In the other hand, the importance of management is the delivery time, consistent quality, price, and number of delivery. The difference in perspective is influenced by the level of interest and different responsibilities. The difference this assessment formed the basis of decision-making and strategic policies of the supply chain according to the condition of the company.

Abstract

A local brand forum outlet sells Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products with inventory management still carried out manually based on employee experience. The research objectives are to analyze problems related to the inventory system and provide recommendations for planning and controlling inventory systems at a Local Brand Forum (FBL) outlet. Primary data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The method used is ABC analysis to obtain the product classification. The results showed that 16 items (19.05%) are included in class A, with a total sales value of 69.55% of the total value for money. Class B has 25 product items (29.76%) with a total sales value of 20.29% of the total value for money. Products in class C are 43 items (51.19%) with a total sales value of 10.16% of the total value for money. As much as 43.75% of products in class A are nine basic commodities which are the basic needs of the Indonesian people, so they have a high priority in inventory control. These results are expected to provide planning and inventory control systems using the ABC class of products to avoid shortages and overstock inventory.
