Abstract

Catfish are the most popular cultivated fish in special region of yogyakarta in special region of yogyakarta especially Sleman, Kulon Progo, and Bantul District.  These products are categorized as high perishable product so need a special handling to keep the quality from fish farmers to the customers. The aims of this study are to identify and calculate the logistics cost component that needed to keep the quality along the supply chain of catfish. There are three types of data collection methods used, namely observation, in- depth interview, and literature review. The analysis includes descriptive analysis, logistics cost components using ABC, and cost charging systems. Furthermore, it can be known the proportion of each logistics cost component of catfish. This study shows that there are six component of catfish logistics cost, i.e. procurement, material handling, transportation, maintenance, inventory, and customer communication. It also shows that the highest logistics cost component averaged proportion is, 76.421%, material handling.

Abstract

East Java has the highest corn production center, with a percentage of 26.24%. The highest production occurred in 2022, reaching 6,608,822 tons. The market's corn supply instability occurs due to uneven harvest patterns. Price disparities between consumers and farmers occur because many supply chain actors are involved, causing losses to supply chain actors. The impact of the El Nino phenomenon can increase logistics costs, especially in procurement activities. This research aims to develop a supply chain strategy based on an analysis of logistics cost structure, marketing margin, profit margin ratio, and farmer's share. Primary data were gathered through interviews and observations. There were 98 respondents, distributed across three regencies : Kediri, Jember, and Tuban. Calculation of logistics cost structure used the ABC method with descriptive statistical analysis. The supply chain strategy was arranged through FGD with several participants. The results of the logistics cost analysis showed that the most significant proportion of logistics costs for corn supply chain actors is in procurement activities, with a percentage of 63.09% and a total cost of IDR 1,649,304 per kg of corn. Marketing is inefficient because marketing margins and profit margin ratios are not evenly spread across all tiers. The supply chain strategy at the farmer level includes standardizing fertilizer use, choosing the proper fertilization method, and using pesticides in a timely and appropriate dose. Apart from that, there is the purchase of superior corn seeds, using seed planters, and maximizing the number of laborers. The supply chain strategy at the collector trader and large trader tier in transportation activities includes maximizing vehicle loads and creating corn storage areas in each corn production center area

Abstract

The global Bottled Drinking Water (AMDK) industry, including in Indonesia, is projected to experience significant growth, with estimates exceeding 500 billion USD by 2030. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as a vital part of the local economy, have begun capitalizing on this opportunity. However, SMEs in the bottled drinking water sector face various risks, such as supply sustainability, product quality, timeliness of delivery, and fluctuations in consumer purchasing power. Addressing these risks requires effective supply chain risk management strategies. Therefore, this study aims to identify problems and develop supply chain risk management strategies using the House of Risk (HOR) method to enhance the operational resilience of SMEs. The analysis using House of Risk identified 12 risk events and 12 risk agents within bottled drinking water SMEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The priority risk agent for immediate mitigation is A10, with an Agregate Risk Potential (ARPj) of 6030. To address this risk agent, the recommended priority preventive actrion is increasing the number of delivery fleets (PA2). This recommendation was made due to its impact to the bottled drinking water in small and medium enterprises level.

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of red seaweed, but its utilization as a source of economic growth is still not optimal, as evidenced by the large amount of exports in raw form, insufficient land utilization, and harvest yields that do not meet standards. This study aims to formulate development strategies for the red seaweed industry in the Poleang sub-district of Bombana Regency through the identification of internal and external conditions. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The analysis used includes descriptive, financial, and SWOT analysis. The results of the study show that the red seaweed industry in Poleang still faces various challenges, such as red seaweed production that does not meet standards, unstable production volumes, seaweed processing plants operating below full capacity, low educational levels among farmers, limited market access and capital resources for farmers, the absence of structured farmer groups, the suboptimal role of financial institutions, climate and weather changes, pests and diseases, and highly volatile seaweed prices. However, there are also significant development opportunities, such as the availability of extensive cultivation areas conducive to seaweed growth, a sufficient labor force, experienced farmers, relatively easy seaweed marketing, simple cultivation techniques, the availability of tissue culture technology and processing industries, profitable cultivation efforts with an RC ratio of 1.94, and the significant potential of the red seaweed market and its processed products both domestically and internationally. Strategies that can be implemented for the development of the red seaweed industry in the Poleang Sub-district cluster of Bombana Regency include optimizing seaweed production through resource optimization, improving productivity and production quality, enhancing the role and functions of institutions, increasing human resource capacity, promoting the use of high-quality seeds, and establishing and strengthening partnership and marketing patterns for seaweed.

Abstract

Lestari Mulya (LM) Agro-Edutourism is one of the Agro-Edutourisms included in the Aerotropolis Area, which is a tourist area supporting Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo Regency. This Agro-Edutourism is a tourist destination designed for educational purposes for children who have received early childhood education and kindergarten students. The community services aim to support members of the Lestari Mulya Women Farmer Group as managers of the Agro-Edutourism to discover their potential, identify development alternatives and assist them to become a sustainable agroindustry. Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA), Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods were used by the Universitas Gadjah Mada community services team to gather the information needed for further development planning. The results of the in-depth interviews showed that there is potential for the land and that some ideas can be developed to improve the quality of Agro-Edutourism products. The Lestari Mulya Women Farmers Group was able to use the FGD method to design a safer and more comfortable layout for the area. The community services team has developed a master plan proposal to apply for funding to improve infrastructure to support faster development of the Agro-Edutourism
