Abstract

To write the exposition is the one of the writing skills that should be taught in the school. In the fourtu competency standard in KTSP can be found about learning of writing, which express many informations in some paragraphs form like (narrative, descriptive, exsposition). The research problem is limited to the ability to write a paragraph of exposition by using media images tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Sikaping terms of aspects (1) to provide knowledge in accordance with the object (image), (2) answer the question, (3) using a standar language, (4) does not affect the reader. This type of research is a quantitative study using descriptive methods. Perindicators data research results are as follows. (1) provide knowledge in accordance with the object (image) is more than enough qualifications (73,8%), (2) answer questions more than enough qualification  (75,1%), (3) using both standard language qualification (84,5%), (4) does not affect either all qualified readers (89,4%). Based one the analysis of these data it can be concluded that the ability to write a paragraph of exposition by using the media image class X SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Sikaping classified as good (80,7%).

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah penelitian ini yaitu, siswa kurang terampil dalam mengidentifikasikan ide ke dalam bentuk tulisan narasi, dan kesulitan membedakan narasi ekspositoris dengan narasi sugestif. Belum adanya media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran narasi menyebabkan tujuan pembelajaran belum tercapai dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 16 Padang menggunakan media audio-visual ditinjau dari aspek kesesuaian tema dengan pengembangan; urutan peristiwa (alur); dan latar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu kelas X1 sebanyak 32 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis karangan narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 16 Padang menggunakan media audio-visual secara umum berada pada kualifikasi baik (82,08%). Jadi, kemampuan menulis karangan narasi ekspositoris siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 16 Padang dengan menggunakan media audio-visual sudah tuntas karena KKM untuk bidang studi bahasa Indonesia di SMA Negeri 16 Padang adalah 75.

Abstract

This research is motivated by three issues (1) students are less able to describe  backround in a play, (2) students are less able to the deter mine a character in a play, and (3) students are less able to describe the sequence of events in a drama scipt by using the media stories. The purpuse ofthis study was to describe the ability to write a play grade VIII SMP N 20 Padang by using the media stories. This type of research is a quantitative study using descriptive methods. This study population is grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang of the school year 2013/2014. Number of students, the population in this study were 236 students, the largest in the eight grade. The study sample was 28 people. Data in this study were obtained by means of giving the test to students. Based on the results of a study of the ability to write a play grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang by using the media stories following condusions can be drawn. The first ability to write a play using media stories for indicator 1 (describing background) are in good qualification (B) with an avarage of 84,52 students second, the indicator 2 (figures are in perfect qualificatin (S) with an avarage of 100 students, and third , indicator 3 (series events) are more enough in qualifying (LDC) with an avarage of 70,23 students. Based on research result that has been  done on the ability to write a play grade SMPN20 Padang by using the media stories can be concluded that the ability to write a play VIII SMPN 20 Padang earned an avarage of 84,93 were the range of 76-85% well qualified (B).

Abstract

This research is motivated by adikodrati’s substance which can be found in many people story. Adikodrati (supernatural strength) is the important one of trust object in many religion all over the world and happened to all nature symptom example: (1) in human figure; (2) animal: (3) thing; also (4) at environment. This study examines the elements of supernatural which contained in Minangkabau folktales entitled kaba Cindur Mata title. This  research technique is data collection, validation of data and analyzing the data. This type of research is descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive method is used to describe the data existing currency figure in  Cindur Mata translation story A. Dt. Madjoindo like the element supernatural found in the human, animal, of object and natural environment. The study describes the results of discusses the supernatural element of the story Cindur Mata as follows. Extra ordinary human (magic) contained in the story Cindur Mata on character named Cindur Mata, Dang Tuanku, Tiang Bungkuk. Animals that have district are horse (Gumarang), buffalo (Binuang), and chicken (Kinantan). Magical objects are rare and may lead to the impression gained is keris bungkuk, percussion prohibition, amulet, boat and fire mirror (suryakanta). Natural environment or natural state generally has a large influence on the story Cindur Mata is single lightening and thunder.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kedudukan dialog karena dialog merupakan bagian utama dalam drama. Oleh sebab itu, unsur-unsur yang membentuk sebuah dialog tersebut perlu diperhatikan karena baik atau tidaknya kualitas sebuah drama ditentukan oleh dialog. Sebagai bentuk kesusasteraan, tidak ada alasan bagi kita, baik praktisi, peneliti, ataupun penikmat drama untuk tidak mempelajari dan menganalisis teks drama sepanjang kita tidak melupakan bahwa tulisan tersebut untuk dipentaskan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian didapatkan empat simpulan. Pertama, pola tuturan yang terdapat pada teks drama ANT karya Wisran Hadi, selain adanya pola pematuhan prinsip kerja sama partisipan juga adanya pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama partisipan. Kedua, dalam penggalan pasangan percakapan, penggalan meminta penjelasan paling banyak digunakan karena antartokoh selalu menuntut adanya suatu aksi yang dibalas dengan reaksi. Ketiga, dari sifat rangkaian tuturan, selain ketiga jenis sifat rangkaian tuturan yang ada, ditemukan pola rangkaian percakapan berkelanjutan. Keempat, dari segi pola kesempatan berbicara, selain pola gilir diatur, ditemukan pola giliran otomatis, dan giliran direbut. Hal tersebut memperlihatkan bahwa teks ANT ini memiliki kekuatan sebagai sebuah teks.The research was motivated by the importance of the position of dialogue because dialogue is a principal part in the drama. Third, the nature of the speech series, in addition to the three types of speech that is the nature of the series, the series pattern found continue conversation. Fourth, in terms of turn taking, in addition to the pattern of cultivation is set, turn patterns are found automatically, and turn seized. It shows that the text of ANT has its own strengths as a text.

Therefore, the elements that make a dialogue needs to be considered as good or bad qualities of a play is determined by the dialogue. As a form of literature, there is no reason for us, both practitioners, researchers, or connoisseurs of drama not to study and analyze the text of the drama as long as we do not forget that writing is to be staged. Based on the findings of the study found four conclusions. Abstract

This study aims to describe the comparison of writing the report text of observations and exposition text using the web-based STAD model. This type of research is quantitative with the experimental method of Postest-Only Control Design. The sample of this study was 36 students of grade X MIPA 1 of SMAN 12 Padang. The results of the study using the web-based STAD model are for writing report text skills the results obtained an average score of 82.41 at a mastery level of 76-85% with Good qualifications (B) and exposition text writing skills gained an average score of 81.48 at a mastery level of 76-85% with Good qualifications. Based on the results of the t-test concluded that there is a comparison using the web-based STAD model because tcount> ttable (5.82> 1.68). So it can be concluded that web-based learning greatly affects student learning outcomes, especially in writing report texts on observations and expositions.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the style of language on the terrace of news about Covid-19 as seen from the terrace / stylistic lead's writing style. A good news writer tries hard not to want to be too mechanistic. Rigid lead writing will feel tedious and unattractive. News that gives the possibility to treat as a feature are beautified, enlivened, even made like creative writings so that they are attractive to the audience. The approach used was descriptive qualitative. This research's data was the core/intro/lead of Covid-19 news that contains a stylistic style. Data obtained from the CNN Indonesia YouTube social media channel was present around the time of the research, namely starting from March to October. The data collection method used was the observation method with record and note techniques. Data were selected, classified, identified, and then described based on the stylistic lead theory. Nine stylistic terraces obtained from thirteen kinds of stylistic core used in disclosing Covid-19 news leads as the results of the study, namely: (1) punching leads, (2) descriptive leads, (3) contrast leads, (4) questioning leads, (5) quote leads, (6) cumulative curiosity leads, (7) sequential leads, (8) parody leads, and (9) greeting leads.

Abstract

Practical activities are carried out to prove a concept being studied. Practical activities following 21st-century learning are a form of learning change, initially centered on educators to become student-centered. Learning tools that are designed and planned according to students' needs certainly create interest so that they can build a productive learning environment. This study aimed to see the student's needs for developing learning tools based on interviews and questionnaires distributed to students who took Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. This type of research was Research and Development (R&D). This research was the initial stage of developing learning tools in Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. The needs analysis results obtained data of 46% stating that learning Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi can improve speaking skills. 39% of students stated that the journalistic practice module requires development; consequently, the journalistic activities' steps and work processes were structured. 37% of students read and used the module as a guide in journalism practice lectures. Furthermore, 42% of students stated the suitability of the activities of 16 meetings with the learning tools and course syllabus.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of several gender inequalities in Yetti A. KA's novel. This study focuses on the forms and factors that cause gender inequality. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms and factors that cause gender inequality. The method used in this qualitative research is descriptive. The data source used is the novel by Yetti A. KA. Based on the research conducted, the data obtained in the form of gender inequality in the novel Basirah consists of subordination, stereotypes, violence, and workload. The factors causing gender inequality in the novel consist of myths that have been passed down from generation to generation in society, patriarchal culture, and the prevailing capitalist system. The most dominant form of gender injustice found in the novel Basirah is violence. Meanwhile, the most dominant causative factor in gender inequality found is patriarchal  AbstrakPenelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, kalimat yang berhubungan dengan ketidakadilan gender. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Basirah karya Yetti A.KA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka diperoleh data bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan gender dalam novel Basirah karya Yetti A.KA, yang terdiri dari subordinasi, stereotipe, kekerasan (violence), dan beban kerja. Pada faktor penyebab ketidakadilan gender dalam novel Basirah karya Yetti A.KA terdiri dari mitos yang berlangsung turun temurun di masyarakat, budaya patriarki, dan sistem kapitalis yang berlaku. Bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang paling dominan ditemukan dalam novel Basirah karya Yetti A.KA adalah bentuk kekerasan. Dan faktor penyebab dalam ketidakadilan gender yang paling dominan ditemukan dalam novel Basirah karya Yetti A.KA adalah budaya patriarki.
