Abstract

Semarang City is facing significant environmental challenges, with land subsidence being a critical issue that intensifies flood inundation and worsening flood damage. As urban areas expand and climate change impacts become more pronounced, understanding and mitigating flood risks are crucial for sustainable urban development and disaster management. Therefore, this study aimed to assess flood risk induced by land subsidence using machine learning to improve flood management. Five different machine learning models (MLMs) were used to assess flood risk, which included Decision Tree (DT), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest (RF). Additionally, fourteen different indices and 2884 sample points were used to train and test the models, with hyperparameter optimization ensuring fairness in comparisons. To address uncertainty in the sample dataset, flood hot spots were used to validate the rationality of flood risk zoning maps. The study investigated driving factors of different flood risk levels, focusing on flood areas to determine flood risk mechanisms in the highest-risk areas. The results showed that KNN performed the best and provided the most reasonable flood risk value among the models. Meanwhile, curve number (CN), distance to the river (DTRiver), and Building Density (BD) were identified as the top three significant factors of flood risk, ranked using the average score decrease in KNN model. Finally, this study expanded the application of machine learning for flood risk assessment and also deepened understanding of the potential mechanisms of flood risk, and provided perceptions about better flood risk management.

Abstract

The expansion of urban areas is closely related to environmental problems such as changes in land use, flooding, and land subsidence. Semarang is a city with reasonably rapid development and a high land change experiencing floods and land subsidence. This paper will discuss land transformation caused by urban growth and its implications. It uses a combination of geospatial techniques and cloud computing Google Earth Engine (GEE) to carry out mapping over a large area without being constrained by computer capabilities. This study found that the built-up area in 2010 occupied 36.27% of the city, and it went up to 59.79% in 2021, in eastern, south-eastern, and northern parts of Semarang City in the last six years. Most of the built-up areas, especially those located in coastal areas, are located in areas with a high rate of land subsidence and urban flooding. The built-up area also significantly increases residential areas compared to other land cover types such as vegetation, open land, and water bodies. Built-up area growth also contributes to the rate of land conversion in Semarang City, especially in Mijen Regency; the vegetation cover was transformed into industrial areas and housing, which heavily stressed the land and environment. This leads to the increasing subsidence on the land of that area, which resulted in increasing tidal floods or rob.

Abstract

Pemerintah Kota Semarang mengeluarkan Peraturan Daerah Kota Semarang No. 7 Tahun 2010 tentang Penataan Ruang Terbuka Hijau. Proses penataan ruang terbuka hijau Kota Semarang dalam peraturan tersebut meliputi proses perencanaan, pemanfaatan dan pengendalian. Peraturan daerah tersebut berisi antara lain perencanaan luasan ruang terbuka hijau untuk setiap klasifikasi ruang terbuka hijau di setiap kecamatan di Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Citra Satelit World-View 2 tahun 2016 untuk membuat klasifikasi penggunaan lahan ruang terbuka hijau. Hasil klasifikasi Ruang Terbuka Hijau Kecamatan Semarang Tengah sesuai dengan Peraturan Daerah Kota Semarang No. 7 tahun 2010 sejumlah 11 klasifikasi dengan luas total 75,849 Hektar. Evaluasi hasil klasifikasi Ruang Terbuka Hijau Kecamatan Semarang Tengah terhadap Peraturan Daerah Kota Semarang No. 7 tahun 2010 menunjukkan empat kawasan yang luasannya memenuhi yaitu perdagangan dan jasa, pendidikan, rekreasi dan olahraga, dan jalur jalan. Sedangkan untuk kawasan sempadan sungai, areal halaman/pekarangan perumahan. areal taman lingkungan permukiman, areal ruang hijau jalan, perkantoran dan fasilitas umum, pemakaman, serta pertamanan dan lapangan belum memenuhi luas rencana pada peraturan tersebut.

Abstract

Sungai Bengawan Solo telah mengakibatkan terjadinya erosi di beberapa tempat di Kecamatan Tawangsari antara lain Desa Dalangan dan Desa Pojok pada tahun 2018-2023. Erosi ini mengakibatkan beberapa tanah dan bangunan di Desa Dalangan dan Desa Pojok hanyut terbawa oleh arus sungai. Kondisi tersebut dapat mempengaruhi nilai tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai tanah pada daerah terdampak erosi Sungai Bengawan Solo. Penelitian ini menggunakan Peta Zona Nilai Tanah 2019 dan 2024, serta peta kejadian erosi sungai. Metode perhitungan NIR digunakan untuk mengetahui perubahan nilai tanah tahun 2019-2024 dan metode autokorelasi moran’s indeks untuk mengetahui korelasi perubahan zona nilai tanah 2019-2024 terhadap pengaruh erosi sungai. Serta analisis regresi linier berganda hubungan centroid jalan dan centroid erosi terhadap nilai tanah. Hasil pada penelitian ini perubahan kenaikan NIR tertinggi yaitu Rp. 2.427.000 berdekatan dengan pusat perdagangan dan fasilitas publik. Nilai moran’s indeks 0,979 menunjukkan terjadi korelasi positif pada perubahan nilai tanah dan erosi Sungai Bengawan Solo memiliki pengaruh terhadap perubahan nilai tanah di Kecamatan Tawangsari ditunjukkan pada zona yang mengalami perubahan penurunan NIR berada pada daerah terdampak erosi. Hasil pengaruh centroid jalan dan centroid erosi 16% yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang cukup lemah antara variabel.
