Abstract

Masyarakat di Desa Sungai Kakap umumnya merupakan ibu rumah tangga dan petani. Tanaman hasil pertanian dan budidaya tidak lepas dari berbagai penyakit tanaman. Pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit tanaman dapat diatasi dengan metabolit sekunder dari mikroba. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada ibu rumah tangga di Desa Sungai Kakap tentang pembuatan metabolit sekunder dan penerapannya bagi tanaman. Metode yang digunakan pada pelatihan ini meliputi penyampaian teori dengan metode ceramah dan edukasi serta penerapannya. Melalui pelatihan ini diharapkan para peserta dapat mempraktekkan langsung cara membuat cairan metabolit sekunder jamur Trichoderma dan bakteri Bacillus sp. secara konvensional dan cara penerapannya ke tanaman, sehingga dapat membantu ibu petani di Desa Sungai Kakap dalam meningkatkan kualitas tanaman mereka. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah diperoleh dari pelatihan ini bagi ibu-ibu di Desa Sungai Kakap dapat menjadi alternatif ramah lingkungan dalam mengendalikan dan mencegah penyakit tanaman serta membantu meningkatkan kualitas tanaman yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Tanjungpura dalam mendukung perkuliahan Orchidologi. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari persiapan (perencanaan), pelaksanaan (penyampaian materi dan juga praktek dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek) serta evaluasi (pengisian kuesioner). Peserta pada pelatihan ini mendapatkan wawasan dan keterampilan mengenai persilangan dan penanaman anggrek melalui penyampaian materi dan praktek. Berdasarkan evaluasi dengan kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa merasa sangat puas (92,31%) telah mengikuti pelatihan ini. Peserta juga memahami teori dan dapat mempraktekkan langsung dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek (84,62%). Pelatihan ini meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek yang mendukung perkuliahan Orchidologi terutama pada materi budidaya anggrek. Wawasan dan keterampilan yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat dijadikan bekal dalam budidaya anggrek sebagai upaya melestarikan tanaman anggrek maupun untuk tujuan bisnis.

Abstract

Fruit rot disease in coffee plants (Coffea sp.) is caused by pathogenic fungi (Fusarium sp.). Control of coffee berry rot disease can be done by using biological agents in the form of rhizosphere fungi which have antagonistic properties against pathogenic fungi. This study aims to determine the type of fungus from coffee fruit rot and rhizosphere fungi and to determine the ability of rhizosphere fungi to inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi. The study was conducted in January-April 2020. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. Sampling was carried out in a coffee plantation (Coffea sp.) Punggur Kecil Village, Kubu Raya Regency. Fungal isolation was carried out using the dilution method and the antagonist test was carried out using the paired method. Based on the results of the study, there was an inhibition of the growth of the fungus Fusarium sp. JPTK1 and Fusarium sp. JPTK2 by Trichoderma sp. JRTK3 with the highest percentage of antagonists were 37.12% and 70.48%, respectively.Keywords: fruit rot disease; biological agents; coffee; rhizosphere fungiAbstrakPenyakit busuk buah pada tanaman kopi (Coffea sp.) disebabkan oleh jamur patogen (Fusarium sp.). Pengendalian penyakit busuk buah kopi dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan agen hayati berupa jamur rizosfer yang memiliki sifat antagonis terhadap jamur patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis jamur dari busuk buah kopi dan jamur rizosfer serta untuk mengetahui kemampuan jamur rizosfer dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur patogen. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari-April 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di perkebunan kopi (Coffea sp.) Desa Punggur Kecil Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Isolasi jamur dilakukan dengan metode pengenceran dan uji antagonis dilakukan dengan metode berpasangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terjadi penghambatan pertumbuhan jamur Fusarium sp. JPTK1 dan Fusarium sp. JPTK2 oleh Trichoderma sp. JRTK3 dengan persentase antagonis tertinggi masing-masing yaitu 37,12% dan 70,48%. Abstract

Lemidi (Stenochlaena palustris) adalah gulma paku-pakuan yang mengandung senyawa alelokimia golongan alkaloid, tanin dan fenolik yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan tanaman lain, sehingga berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai pengendali gulma. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun lemidi terhadap perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan rumput grintingan (Cynodon dactylon). Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2022 – Maret 2023 di Rumah Kasa Biologi dan Laboratorium Kimia Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu pengetahuan Alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari ekstrak daun lemidi konsentrasi 0% sebagai kontrol, 7,5%, 10%, 12,5% dan 15%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak daun lemidi dapat menghambat perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan rumput grintingan. Konsentrasi 7,5% daun lemidi sudah menunjukkan penghambatan terhadap parameter pengamatan persentase perkecambahan, panjang kecambah, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang akar, berat basah, dan berat kering rumput grintingan.

Abstract

Orchids are highly economic plants due to the beauty of their flowers. Orchid cultivation is important in order to fulfil the increasing demand for orchids in the market. Fertilisation is an important stage in orchid cultivation in order to get fast flowering orchids. The purpose of this activity is to increase students' understanding and ability in fertilising orchids. Partners in this activity are Biology students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University. This activity has several stages, namely planning (determination of time, preparation of tools and materials), implementation (provision of material, demonstration, fertilisation practice) and evaluation (questionnaire). The knowledge and ability of Biology students in caring for orchids has increased. Participants were very satisfied reaching 92.86% after participating in this training. Participants also experienced an increase in the material and practice of orchid fertilisation by 85.71%. This activity was able to increase understanding and ability about orchid fertilisation. The understanding and skills in orchid fertilisation obtained are expected to be able to be practised at home in caring for orchids so that they flower quickly.

The Effect of Administration of Pasak Bumi (Eurycoma longifolia Jack.) Roots on Lactating Mice to Increase Body Weight Pups. The roots of Eurycoma longifolia Jack have been used as a traditional medicine for aprodisiac. The effects of the root extract of E. longifolia Jack were studied on lactating mice. Each mice was administered metanol extract and its derived fractions at dose 500 mg/kg rat body weight for 21 consecutive days in lactation period. Control positive group received Moloco+B12 at dose 0,13 g/kg rat body weight, negative control (placebo) group received 2 ml/kg rat body weight of aquadest daily and normal control group. No differences between normal control, negative control, positive control, and metanol extract and its derived fractions. The administration methanol-water fraction to lactating mice increasing body weight mice pups similar to Moloco+B12.

Abstract

Activities carried out by housewives in Sungai Kakap village include cultivating their yards by planting horticultural plants (vegetables and fruit). The obstacle in increasing the yield of garden plants is the high cost of non-organic fertilizers. However, until now the people in the village do not know the source of organic waste that can be used as fertilizer, namely plant-based organic waste that comes from the market. This training aims to provide knowledge and skills to housewives regarding organic fertilizer and increase the knowledge and skills of housewives in making organic fertilizer from plant-based market waste. The service program is carried out by conveying the theory of organic fertilizer and the practice of making compost and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from market organic waste made from fruit and vegetables. Evaluation of community service activities is carried out using a questionnaire method given at the beginning and end of the activity. The results of the questionnaire showed an increase in the knowledge of housewives in Sungai Kakap Village about organic fertilizer (100%), an increase in interest in applying organic fertilizer (97%), and an increase in interest in making their own organic fertilizer (80%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coconut water and gibberellins on the germination of rattan seeds. The research design used was a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors with 5 repetitions. The first factor (A) is coconut water consisting of control without coconut water 0% (A0), coconut water 25% (A1), coconut water 50% (A2), coconut water 75% (A3), and coconut water 100%(A4 ). The second factor is the concentration of gibberellins (GA3) consisting of control without gibberellins 0 ppm, 30 ppm (B1), 60 ppm (B2), and 90 ppm (B3). The results showed that coconut water and gibberellins had a significant effect on the percentage of germination, seedling height, number of roots, root length, and wet weight of rattan plants. A treatment combination of 75% coconut water and 90 ppm GA3 was the best treatment for the parameters of germination percentage (92,94%), seedling height (8,05cm), number of roots (4,06), root length (10,75cm), and wet weight rattan (5,04 grams).

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving chicken manure liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) on the vegetative growth of kratom plants and to find out the best concentration of chicken manure LOF that can increase plant growth kratom. This study used a completely randomized design which consisted of 7 treatment levels of chicken manure concentration of LOF, namely: control(A1), 50ml/L(A2), 100ml/L(A3), 150ml/L(A4), 200ml/L(A5), 250ml/L(A6), 300ml/L (A7). The results showed that the application of LOF chicken manure had a significant effect on the number of leaves, root dry weight, and shoot dry weight, but had no significant effect on plant height, leaf area, weight root wetness, shoot wet weight and chlorophyll content. The LOF treatment of chicken manure concentration of 150ml/L was the treatment that gave the best results on kratom plant growth for the average number of leaves (16.0 strands), root dry weight (3.94 grams), and shoot dry weight (5.48 grams).
