Abstract

Candlenut is a shrub with broad leaves that produces edible fruit that can also be used as an ingredient in various foods and cosmetics. Various studies on the method of roasting biji kemiri seeds have been carried out, but research on modification of the pulley for the candlenut roasting machine is still lacking. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the effect of changing the diameter of the pulley on the candlenut roasting machine to determine the effect on the results of roasting the candlenut seeds. A quantitative technique was adopted as the research methodology. The object of research used in this study were pulleys with different diameters on Lumajang black sand media which were processed for 15 minutes, with a diameter of 3, 4 or 5 inches. It was concluded that the best variation of the pulley diameter to use is the 4-inch diameter because it produces a rotation of 602.5 RPM when roasting the biji kemiris with an electric motor that has a rotation of 2800. The results obtained from a 3-inch diameter produce a quality of 1.73% moisture content, then a 4-inch diameter produces a quality of 1.71% moisture content, and a 5-inch diameter produces a moisture content of 1.69%.

Abstract

In using a manual sweet potato chip cutter, expertise and experience are required so that the sweet potato pieces are uniform and not too thick or thin. This tool also takes quite a lot of time and energy if used to cut in large quantities. In previous studies, several chip cutting tools have been made, but the tools made have large dimensions and to cut sweet potatoes require a push from the hand. Based on this background, the researcher made a sweet potato chip cutter using an electric motor in this case, it can be reduced in size or use lighter materials but still strong and durable. The result of the Design of Sweet Potato Chips Cutting Machine is this sweet potato chips cutting machine has dimensions of 75 cm long, 40 cm wide, and 75 cm high. This machine uses an electric motor of 0.5 Hp with an electric motor speed of 1400 rpm and this machine is capable of producing 31.175 kg / hour pieces.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi sangat berguna untuk memudahkan seluruh aspek kehidupan manusia, seperti pada sektor-sektor manufaktur dan kesehatan. Pada teknologi bidang kesehatan semakin meningkat dan mahal, namun pada pengujian PCR masih dilakukan secara manual dengan tangan manusia dan rentan terkontaminasi serta terkategori mahal. Pada Liquid Handling System ini cairan dipindahkan secara otomatis dengan biaya yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development dengan membuat desain sistem kendali pada Liquid Handling System, menempatkan gelas ukur dan tabung sampel pada titik point, serta perancangan program G-Code dan koding motor servo menggunakan arduino uno untuk menguji kemampuan sistem Prototype Liquid Handling System yang telah dirancang. Berdasarkan hasil uji fungsi modifikasi CNC Plotter dan actuator hidrolic memiliki kecepatan gerak pada software UGS (universal g-code sender F = 4000) prototype liquid handling system menggunakan sampel cairan Nacl dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil pada skema B cairan Nacl yang didapatkan menghasilkan hasil yaitu 0,83 ml dengan presentase error sebesar 3% setelah melakukan rata-rata 3 kali percobaan. Dan untuk rata-rata waku pada skema B dari titik o hingga ke titik 5 menghasilkan 25,81 detik.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi industri manufaktur terus meningkat, peningkatan produksi harus diimbangi dengan peningkatan kualitas hasil produksi. Ditemukannya mesin-mesin produksi permesinan sangat membantu dalam peningkatan kualitas. Dalam proses permesinan terdapat parameter yang dapat mempengaruhi waktu permesinan seperti kecepatan potong, kedalaman pemakanan, pahat potong, material benda kerja. Selain itu dalam proses permesinan khususnya di mesin bubut proses pengendalian chips pada pemotongan kecepatan tinggi maupun kecepatan rendah mendapatkan chips yang baik sesuai dengan tingkatan jenis-jenis chips. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecepatan potong dan material benda kerja dalam proses pembubutan rata terhadap waktu permesinan dan bentuk chips. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Mesin bubut yang digunakan adalah Multi Purpose HQ400 dengan satu jenis pahat HSS, serta kecepatan putaran yang digunakan adalah 361 rpm, 808 rpm, 818 rpm, dan material uji yang digunakan adalah ST40. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa waktu tercepat pada material ST40 ialah 12,51 detik menggunakan kecepatan putaran paling tertinggi yaitu 818 rpm.

Abstract

Machine tools have a very important role in the industrial sector, especially the manufacturing industry. Various types of machine tools that are often used, one of which is a lathe. Damage that often occurs in the engine drive components, namely the pulley. Therefore, in this study, he was interested in conducting research entitled "The Effect of Pulley Diameter Combination on Functional Testing on the HQ 400 Type Multi-Purpose Lathe. Based on the results of the redesign on the HQ 400 multi-purpose machine, there is a redesigned component, namely the pulley. The dynamo machine used is the multi-purpose HQ 400 with a speed of 1500 RPM using a lathe/chisel eye that is used with a diameter of 6 mm and a 1 mm incision in the lathe function test, with the tested speed of 846.116 Rpm, 825.688 and Rpm, 307.649 Rpm on steel material of st 40 type steel with a length of 10 cm. from the test results on the function test of the hq 400 multi-purpose lathe, at speeds 1 and 2 there is a difference in time that is not too far, namely 25 seconds, while for speed 3 the lowest with the longest turning time is 9 minutes 35 seconds.

Abstract

The fishing industry holds significant importance in Indonesia, relying heavily on fishermen to ensure the quality of fish remains intact from the sea to the hands of distributors. However, traditional fishermen often encounter obstacles due to limited cooling facilities, leading to compromised fish quality and potential spoilage prior to sale. Moreover, conventional fishing methods consume considerable time and fuel resources. To enhance the efficiency and productivity of fishermen, there is a need for technological advancements such as a versatile fish storage solution known as Unibox. This innovation incorporates self-sustaining power generation, fish tracking technology, eco-friendly fish preservation methods, and efficient boat illumination systems. Unibox is anticipated to enhance fishermen's livelihoods, contribute to national food security initiatives, and provide a platform for students to gain firsthand industry experience.

Abstract

Briket bioarang merupakan salah satu bahan bakar alternatif yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menggantikan bahan bakar fosil. Briket bioarang dibuat dari bahan baku biomassa, seperti limbah pertanian, limbah perkebunan, dan limbah industri. Bahan baku biomassa tersebut diolah menjadi arang, kemudian dicampur dengan perekat untuk membentuk briket. Perekat merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi karakteristik briket bioarang. Perekat berfungsi untuk menyatukan butiran arang agar briket dapat dibentuk dan memiliki kekuatan yang cukup. Selain itu, perekat juga dapat mempengaruhi kadar air, kadar abu, kerapatan massa, laju pembakaran, dan shatter index.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi jenis perekat (arpus dan tepung beras) terhadap karakteristik briket bioarang, yaitu kadar air, kadar abu, dan laju pembakaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental. Bahan baku yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 75% arang tempurung kelapa dan 25% bonggol jagung. Perekat yang digunakan adalah  tepung beras dan arpus. Perbandingan  komposisi perekat yang digunakan adalah (100% : 0%), (75%: 25%), (50% : 50%), (25% : 75%), (0% : 100%).

Abstract

Robusta coffee beans are the most widely harvested type of coffee beans in Indonesia, but there is still little processing of coffee beans in Indonesia. Some MSMEs in various regions still use traditional methods to roast coffee beans. Roasting coffee beans manually makes the maturity of coffee beans uneven. This research aims to make a coffee roasting machine with a capacity of 2 Kg / hour using a portable stove heater. The method used is by collecting data and then calculating planning and designing tools. Then proceed with the process of testing the function of the tool in achieving a capacity of 2 Kg / hour. The function test is carried out by roasting 500 grams of coffee beans and is carried out 4 times at each specified temperature. The conclusion of this research is that the coffee roasting machine has a length of 41.5 cm, a width of 27 cm, and a height of 50 cm. The drum used has a volume of 3281.7 cm3 which is driven by a 14 W 60 rpm KTYZ motor using a 25 mm diameter timing pulley transmission and a 360 mm long timing belt. The coffee roasting machine can roast 2 kg/hour of coffee beans at 185°C, 190°C, and 195°C through 4 batches of roasting.
