Abstract

Abstract

The Sufi movement in Minangkabau in the 20th century was influenced by Marxism. In some Muslim scholars' views, Marxism could not possibly be in line with Islam. On the ground, Islam and Marxism were able to act in dialectic as a weapon against colonialism that hit the entire Muslim society at the time. In Minangkabau, which has an Islamic view of life, the ideology of Marxism spread rapidly and captured the attention of the public, including the Sufis. To analyze this study uses the theory of social action by Max Weber, which is divided into four types, traditional action, affective action, instrumental rationality, and value rationality. Based on the traditional type, the Sufi tried to follow their teachers, as well as the tradition of the Padri, who went against colonialism. Through affective actions, the Sufis demonstrated a strong emotional bond to the system that exists in the Sufi tradition. Using instrumental rationality, they were consciously able to carry out the resistance rationally after seeing the available resources. In terms of rationality of value, the Sufis want to receive the reward for their jihad (mujahada), as had been done by the other Sufis before them

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the level of political participation of the Kenduri Cinta community as an urban Sufism community in DKI Jakarta. The method used in this research is a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to the Kenduri Cinta community who were selected by purposive sampling. The independent variables used in this research are political concern; political motivation; political situation and environment; political education; and political orientation. This study explains how these independent variables affect the political participation of the Kenduri Cinta community. The 503 questionnaires obtained were processed by the SPSS application version 25. The Principal Component Analysis method was used in multiple linear regression to analyse how independent variables affect their political participation. The F test result shows that all independent variables simultaneously affect the level of political participation of the Kenduri Cinta community. Meanwhile, the t test result shows that four independent variables are significant and three of them have positive regression coefficients. Interestingly, political motivation has a negative regression coefficient even though it is significant. This means the higher their political motivation, the lower their political participation.

Abstract

This article discusses Türkiye's relationship with the mass media and the role of the press in Islamic discourse. This article departs from the press freedom crisis in Türkiye and the increasing Islamic discourse in contemporary Turkish national media. The author uses the normative function theory of the press and media theory and discourse construction as analytical tools. This article finds that from the perspective of the normative function of the press, the media in Turkey tends to be dominated by an authoritarian system. However, there are a few that adopt a system of social responsibility. Meanwhile, in the context of the media's role in Islamic discourse in Turkey from the perspective of media and discourse construction, the Turkish media signing process tends to be dominated by the juxtaposition of Islamic language and national aspects. In framing, the media raises the discourse of Türkiye's existence in the Islamic world. The image resulting from the signing and framing process is oriented towards national interest and Islam or Turkish Muslim campaigns on the local and global stage.

Abstract

Fiqh, like the law in general, always faces new problems (nawāzil) that need solutions through ijtihad. To establish the law of the problem of fiqh nawazil, a standard method of ijtihad is needed. Through this research, the author seeks to review the literature related to ijtihad fiqh nawazil to be assembled into a standard method, which is then compared with the procedure of establishing fatwa of the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) and used as a theory to dissect MUI fatwa related to Covid-19. From the results of the study of related literature, ijtihad fiqh nawazil can be conducted by three methods, namely bayānī, ta’līlī, and istiṣlaḥī, which are then practiced through three stages, namely taṣawwur al-masalat, takyīf fiqhī, and taṭbīq al-ahkām. Although there is a slight difference in the aspect of language between the methods and stages of the ijtihad fiqh nawazil with the MUI fatwa establishment procedure, both have the same substance, so it can be concluded that the fatwa establishment procedure of the MUI has included three stages of the ijtihad fiqh nawazil methods. This is increasingly seen in the MUI fatwa decree related to Covid-19, especially in the Law on the Use of AstraZeneca Vaccine.

The analytical method in this research is literature study by presenting related datas and theories arranged systematically. The results of this study indicate that impulse buying behavior is in contrast to the concept of Islamic consumption norms, as has been explained in detail by one of the 20th century Islamic economists, Monzer Kahf.

Abstract

The decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict has become one of the most complex and significant geopolitical issues, with far-reaching implications for political stability in the Middle East. This study aims to identify the roots of the conflict, the factors that influence it, and its impact on the region's governance system and political institutions. This study uses qualitative methods with a descriptive-analytical approach, which provides an in-depth understanding of both parties' internal dynamics and the conflict's impact on regional stability. The results show that the governance systems of both countries play an important role in this dynamic. Israel can maintain stability through a parliamentary democratic system supported by checks and balances mechanisms. In contrast, in Palestine, along with the continuing occupation by Israel and the absence of sovereignty, a dualism of power has emerged, namely the Palestinian National Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza. This dualism has triggered internal fragmentation that has hampered the effectiveness of government and added to the complexity of efforts to achieve independence. Furthermore, this conflict has also caused political instability at the regional level and complicated the foreign policies of countries in the region.

Abstract

Information about non-halal labels is regulated by Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantees. Article 93 states that products originating from prohibited materials must include non-halal details in the form of images, writing, or the name of the material with a different color in the composition of the material, for example red. In 2014, the Head of the Halal Registration and Certification Center at the BPJPH Ministry of Religion explained that his party would regulate the use of non-halal labels for non-halal products in the Minister of Religion regulations. However, until now, this plan has not been realized. official non-halal labels in restaurants in Indonesia as an effort to protect consumers. This research aims to design an official non-halal label to be applied in restaurants based on three categories: non-halal, halal in registration, and Halal be confirmed. The method used is descriptive qualitative and the label design method uses a Visual Communication Design approach which will be posted in restaurants and eateries. The research results are label concepts that will be applied in restaurants.
