Abstract

Exploration is the first step in finding germplasm of aren palm plants that have the expected traits through breeding programs so that it is expected to be one of the solutions for the development of aren palm plants. This research will be conducted from May to October 2023 in community-owned aren palm plantations in 50 cities. The purpose of this research is to characterize the morphology of Aren plants in District 50 Kota and to see the level of diversity of aren palm plants in the area. The research method was survey method, with purposive sampling. The data collection technique is to observe the morphological parts of the plant in each sample. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively, while for the analysis of similarity the calculation of the NTSYS Ver 2.02 program was used. The results of the study obtained 4 clusters of palm plants from 3 villages namely Nagari Sungai Kamuyang, Sikabu-kabu and Mungo. Researchers obtained 15 samples of aren palm plants characterized by 19 characters, namely 10 characters have wide variability and 9 characters have narrow variability with a level of diversity ranging from 14% - 47%.   Keywords: Cluster, Survey, Diversity, Nagari

Abstract

Sebagian wilayah di Nagari Padang Sibusuk Kecamatan Kupitan Kabupaten Sijunjung adalah berupa perbukitan yang landai dan dilalui beberapa aliran sungai, yakni Batang Lasi, Batang Laweh dan Batang Piruko. Topografi wilayah ini terdiri dari perbukitan sedang hingga dataran rendah dengan jenis tanah podsolik merah kuning yang termasuk tanah marginal dengan kesuburan tanah yang rendah dan mudah terkena erosi sehingga memiliki keterbatasan dalam hal ketersediaan air, sehingga kegiatan penghijauan mutlak diperlukan. Selain itu, wilayah ini juga dilalui aliran sungai yang dapat dipelihara kelestariannya dan ditingkatkan fungsinya dengan kegiatan penghijauan berupa penanaman tanaman tahunan dan buah-buahan. Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk merubah pola pikir dan perilaku petani sebagai pelestari sumber daya alam, mengendalikan erosi tanah dan banjir, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Jorong Simancuang, Jorong Ladang Kapeh, dan Jorong Tapi Balai di Nagari Padang Sibusuk Kecamatan Kupitan Kabupaten Sijunjung dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi penanaman/penghijauan. Mahasiswa yang terlibat adalah sebanyak dua puluh orang. Masyarakat Nagari Padang Sibusuk sangat antusias dalam diskusi tentang budidaya tanaman tahunan dan buah-buahan, serta pentingnya konservasi tanah dan lingkungan. Sebagian besar peserta sangat tertarik dan akan langsung menanam tanaman penghijauan pada lahan mereka, terutama yang terletak di daerah bantaran sungai. Dalam rangka memenuhi harapan tim pengabdian agar kegiatan ini sukses dan berlanjut ke depannya maka dilakukan pemberian bantuan berupa ±400 bibit tanaman tahunan dan buah-buahan kepada masyarakat di Nagari Padang Sibusuk. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui kegiatan penghijauan ini telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang pentingnya konservasi untuk menjaga kelestarian tanah dan lingkungan.

Abstract

Limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) merupakan limbah padat yang dihasilkan dari sisa pengolahan di pabrik kelapa sawit. Seiring dengan bertambahnya luas lahan kebun kelapa sawit menyebabkan jumlah limbah TKKS semakin meningkat. Meningkatnya jumlah limbah ini secara terus menerus akan menyebabkan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan, seperti polusi udara akibat bau yang tidak sedap. Akan tetapi, limbah TKKS dapat memberikan manfaat jika diolah dengan baik. Salah satu cara yang bisa dilakukan dalam pengolahan limbah TKKS adalah dengan merubah limbah tersebut menjadi biochar. Biochar dari TKKS dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memperbaiki kualitas lahan di kebun kelapa sawit rakyat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang terintegrasi dengan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan cara membuat biochar dari limbah TKKS kepada kelompok tani Semoga Jaya yang berada di Kenagarian Koto Beringin Kecamatan Tiumang Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Melalui pelatihan ini, diharapkan petani dapat mengelola limbah tersebut secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan, serta memanfaatkannya dengan baik untuk perbaikan kualitas lahan kelapa sawit rakyat. Kegiatan pelatihan diikuti dengan antusias oleh petani, hal ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya pertanyaan yang muncul selama kegiatan pelatihan berlangsung. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa para petani sangat tertarik untuk menerima ilmu yang disampaikan, dan ingin mencoba  dan mengaplikasikan pembuatan biochar ini pada kebun kelapa sawitnya masing-masing.

Abstract

Limbah buah-buahan biasanya dibuang secara open dumping tanpa pengolahan lebih lanjut sehingga memunculkan berbagai masalah, seperti menjadi sumber penyakit, serta menyebabkan polusi air dan udara. Di sisi lain, adanya keluhan dari Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) di Nagari IV Koto Pulau Punjung tentang kurangnya kesuburan tanah sehingga tanaman sayuran dan palawija yang mereka tanam tidak tumbuh dengan optimal. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi KWT dan masyarakat di Nagari lV Koto Pulau Punjung tentang pemanfaatan limbah buah-buahan sebagai bahan dasar dalam pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) yang dapat menyuburkan tanah dan tanaman. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Jorong Tanjung Limau, Nagari IV Koto Pulau Punjung, Kecamatan Pulau Punjung, Kabupaten Dharmasraya dengan sasarannya yaitu KWT dan masyarakat di nagari tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa ceramah, diskusi, praktek pembuatan POC dari limbah buah-buahan, dan pengaplikasiannya pada tanaman sayuran yang ditanam oleh KWT. Mahasiswa yang terlibat adalah sebanyak tujuh orang. Adanya forum tanya jawab (diskusi) pada kegiatan ini membuat masyarakat lebih tertarik menyampaikan permasalahan yang mereka hadapi. Setelah sosialisasi dilakukan, masyarakat diajak untuk turut serta dalam pembuatan POC dari limbah buah-buahan, kemudian juga ikut turun langsung ke lapangan untuk mempraktikkan cara pengaplikasian POC yang telah siap pakai ke tanaman yang mereka tanam. Penyuluhan tentang pembuatan dan pengaplikasian POC dari limbah buah-buahan berjalan lancar dengan tersampaikannya informasi kepada pihak sasaran kegiatan. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui kegiatan ini telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan limbah buah-buahan sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan POC dan pengaplikasinnya sehingga dapat menyuburkan tanah dan tanaman.

Abstract

Rice is a primary necessity for the Indonesian people, as it serves as a source of energy and carbohydrates. Rice cultivation requires strategic approaches to increase production, aiming to prevent threats to Indonesia's food security. One strategy that can be applied is the jajar legowo rice planting system. The jajar legowo system is a technique that manipulates planting distances to increase rice yields, resulting in a greater number of edge plants. This activity aims to enhance farmers' understanding of rice cultivation using the jajar legowo system to achieve better harvests and to boost their enthusiasm in working on their agricultural land. The activity was conducted on the rice fields owned by the Tanjung Raya farming group, located in Nagari Sungai Dareh, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency. The method employed involved directly practising the jajar legowo rice planting system in the farmers' rice fields. The activity proceeded smoothly, successfully increasing the farmers' understanding of *jajar legowo* rice cultivation to achieve better harvests. Both the farmers and students involved in the activity were able to perform their tasks according to the specified guidance. Looking forward, it is hoped that similar activities will be held, as this initiative by the students of Campus III Universitas Andalas Dharmasraya aims to provide benefits and positive contributions to the surrounding community.

Abstract

Since the last few decades, plant propagation by tissue culture techniques have been developed for oil palm crops, but it often happens somaclonal variation that causes abnormal phenomena in oil palm flowers and fruits. Therefore, the purposes of this research were to identify the morphological characters of abnormal flowers and fruits, and to determine the types of abnormality of oil palm fruit derived from tissue culture cloned compared to D×P Sungai Pancur hybrid variety. This research was conducted at the educational field of Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute (IOPRI) located in Sungai Dareh, Pulau Punjung Sub-district, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra. The sampling method was purposive sampling and the observed data were presented descriptively. The results of this study indicated that abnormalities in oil palm fruit have been detected from the time of flower formation with the characteristic that when the flower blooms it forms more than seven carpels. The types of oil palm fruit abnormalities found at the study site were thin coat abnormalities, thick coat abnormalities, squirrel tail, mantle sissy and squirrel tail mantle sissy. In cases of mild abnormality, the oil palm fruit still has seeds and flesh, whereas in severe cases, the fruit only has a thin flesh and was completely seedless.

One of the critical success cocoa cultivation is the use of quality plant materials. Cocoa plant material obtained through propagation techniques Somatic Embryogenesis (SE) is the latest method that can produce planlet that are the same with source, have a taproot and a branched structure similar with plant from seeds. Another advantage of this SE technique can be mass-produced seedlings, pest-disease free, growth is more uniform, more vigor, high yield and drought resistant. The objective of the experiment is to know the growth media composition which give the best effect on growth cacao seedling (Theobroma cacao L.) from Somatic Embryogenesis (SE). The experiment was conducted at The Agricultural Experiment Station of Agriculture Faculty, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor, altitude ±700 m above sea level with soil type is Inceptisols. The experiment was conducted from June until October 2013, used Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisted of nine treatments combinations and replicated three times. The treatments were topsoil : casting (2 : 1) + urea 0,5 g application-1, topsoil : cattle dung (2 : 1) + urea 0,5 g application-1, topsoil : cacao pods compost (2 : 1) + urea 0,5 g application-1, topsoil : casting (2 : 1) + urea 0,75 g application-1, topsoil : cattle dung (2 : 1) + urea 0,75 g application-1, topsoil : cacao pods compost (2 : 1) + urea 0,75 g application-1, topsoil : casting (2 : 1) + urea 1 g application-1, topsoil : cattle dung (2 : 1) + urea 1 g application-1, topsoil : cacao pods compost (2 : 1) + urea 1 g application-1. The result of the experiment showed that the growth media composition consist of topsoil : casting (2 : 1) + urea 0,75 g application- 1 give better effect on vegetative growth of cacao seedling from SE compared to other treatment combinations, increased stem diameter, leaves number, shoot dry weight and total plant dry weight at 16 MST is 17,54g.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The village of Sukoharjo in Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency, has natural potential, including rice fields, fertile lands along the Bengawan Solo River, and an abundance of fruit crops such as crystal guava, water guava, avocado, longan, starfruit, and honey jackfruit. The village also has natural resources like oil wells and cultural heritage in the stories of Joko Popok and Mbok Rondo Mori. This potential, however, has not been fully utilized for developing a tourist village that could serve as an income generator for the local community. This community service program aims to implement the Sukoharjo-Bojonegoro Tourist Village Upskilling-Upgrading Program through the 3ED Program (Edu-Etno-Eco-Digital Tourism). “Upskilling” involves enhancing the skills of stakeholders and villagers in managing tourism potential, while “upgrading” focuses on improving the systems, procedures, and operations of the tourist village to be more efficient and effective. Upskilling and upgrading village tourism will create opportunities to stimulate the local economy, increase village income and welfare, expand employment opportunities, and contribute to poverty reduction. This program has produced five tourism packages, tested with kindergarten/RA and elementary/MI students: Edutourism 1, Edutourism 2, Ed-tourism 3, Ecotourism, and Ethnotourism. To strengthen the online marketing of these tourism packages, the community service team organized digital marketing training for village officials, women's tourism groups, and youth organizations.  ABSTRAKDesa Sukoharjo Kecamatan Kalitidu Kabupaten Bojonegoro memiliki potensi alam berupa lahan persawahan,  daerah subur tepian Sungai Bengawan Solo, dan hasil perkebunan buah jambu kristal, jambu air, alpukat, kelengkeng, belimbing, dan nangka madu. Desa ini juga memiliki kekayaan alam sumur minyak serta budaya cerita kisah Joko Popok dan Mbok Rondo Mori. Potensi ini belum digunakan sepenuhnya untuk pengembangan desa wisata yang dapat menjadi income generator bagi masyarakat setempat. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan mengadakan Program  Upskilling-Upgrading Desa Wisata Sukoharjo-Bojonegoro melalui Program 3ED (Edu-Etno-Eco-Digital Tourism). Upskilling terkait dengan peningkatan kemampuan stake holder dan masyarakat desa dalam mengelola potensi wisata, sementara upgrading memiliki makna peningkatan sistem, prosedur, dan cara kerja desa wisata agar menjadi lebih efisien dan efektif. Upskillling dan upgrading wisata desa akan membuka peluang untuk menggerakan ekonomi di tingkat lokal, meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa, memberikan kesempatan kerja yang semakin luas, dan berkontribusi mengurangi kemiskinan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menghasilkan 5 paket wisata yang telah diuji cobakan kepada siswa TK/RA dan SD/MI, yaitu Edutourism 1, Edutourism 2, Edutourism 3, Ecotourism, dan Ethnotourism. Untuk memperkuat pemasaran online paket-paket wisata tersebut, tim PkM mengadakan pelatihan digital marketing bagi perangkat desa, ibu-ibu pokdarwis, dan pemuda Karang Taruna.

Abstract

Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata), a member of the Arecaceae (Palmae) family within the Angiospermae group, is a multifunctional plant with significant economic value. Its sap serves as a primary ingredient for palm sugar production, while its young fruit is consumed as food, its fibers are utilized for roofing, and its trunk is processed into handicrafts. However, concerns have arisen regarding the plant’s declining availability due to imbalanced cultivation. A key factor contributing to the low cultivation interest among farmers is the prolonged maturation period of sugar palm. To support conservation efforts and sustainable management, morphological characterization is crucial in determining genetic relationships, which can assist breeders in preserving germplasm stability. This study aimed to assess the morphological characteristics and genetic diversity of sugar palm populations in Sikakap District, Mentawai Islands. The research was conducted from August to November 2024 using a survey method with purposive sampling. Morphological data were collected through direct observation, analyzed descriptively, and similarity relationships were determined using NTSYS Ver. 2.10 software. The exploration identified 15 accessions categorized into two groups, with genetic similarity levels ranging from 27% to 50%. A similarity coefficient of 27% indicates significant morphological variation among the observed accessions, particularly in plant height, sheath length, stem circumference, number of leaflets, leaflet width, leaflet length, and fruit diameter. The accession Pagai Selatan (PS2) exhibited the greatest morphological divergence.
