Abstract

The study below examines the development of students' critical and creative thinking abilities through the use of article reviews and the Problem Based Learning instructional approach. This study is qualitative and was conducted utilizing library research, specifically library research that used data grouping methods. It was then completed by examining and studying numerous pertinent research publications and papers. utilizing analytical methods for gathering, combining, and recognizing secondary data from numerous pertinent investigations. The adoption of the Problem Based Learning learning paradigm itself can boost students' capacity for creative thought, according to the study's findings. The findings of research done using library resources revealed that students' capacities for creative thought had improved, with outcomes moving into the medium category. In this study, four factors—fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration—were also linked to an improvement in students' capacity for creative thought. It follows that the application of the learning paradigm that Problem Based Learning is capable of improving students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of metaverse technology in education to transform learning media in Indonesia. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The type of research utilized library search. The secondary data comprised scientific papers indexed by Scopus and Sinta. The data analysis technique used in this research was thematic analysis. The results indicated that the technological metaverse perspective in education could present the best digital technology to support education in Indonesia. Implementing the metaverse in interactive learning media in Indonesia is divided into four types of simulation: lifelong, mirror world, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). Opportunities within the metaverse as learning media in education include immersive interactive experiences, visualization, more economical risks and costs, unlimited space, and time, preventing academic violations, personalization, and promoting communication. Meanwhile, the possible challenges that will be faced are in the form of no boundaries for people involved in being lazy to move and other forms of neutral interaction.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai promosi sekolah sangat penting untuk menjangkau khalayak yang lebih luas, terutama dalam penerimaan peserta didik baru (PPDB). Namun, pemanfaatan teknologi belum optimal karena kurangnya sumber daya guru dan pegawai yang bisa menjadi pengelola media sosial. Sekolah masih mengandalkan metode promosi tradisional seperti membagikan brosur di sekitar rumah dan sekolah. Siapa yang belum mencapai target PPDB? Tim PKM dari Prodi D3 Sistem Informasi Telkom University membantu dengan memberikan pelatihan di SMK Plus Al-Aitaam Bandung pada tanggal 12 Juni 2023. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 20 peserta siswa dan guru, dibantu oleh dua orang dosen dan sembilan siswa. Materi pelatihan ini meliputi optimalisasi media sosial, games, dan role playing. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta menilai optimalisasi dan promosi media sosial untuk menjawab kebutuhan mereka dan membantu sekolah menyebarluaskan profil dan prestasi sekolah, menjaring calon siswa baru, dan mencapai target PPDB SMK Plus Al-Aitaam Bandung.

Abstract

Particularly in emerging nations like Indonesia, agriculture plays a significant role in a country's economy. However, farmers frequently encounter a variety of difficulties when trying to increase the quantity and caliber of their agricultural output. Limited access to agricultural extension services is one aspect that has an impact on farmers' capacity to obtain agricultural information and technologies. One of the organizations responsible for helping farmers in the area with agricultural extension services is the Limbangan Agricultural Extension Center (BPP). Currently, BPP Limbangan provides information to farmers using traditional extension methods including lectures and printed pamphlets. However, this approach has limitations in terms of information originality, engagement, and reach. To improve farmers' access to agricultural knowledge and technology, the creation and deployment of a multimedia agricultural extension online portal at BPP Limbangan may be a good solution. Farmers will be able to access the most recent information, useful tips, video tutorials, and other agricultural resources online with the help of the website portal. An agricultural extension multimedia website portal can be created to offer a variety of content, including educational articles, films of farming practice demonstrations, details on managing pests and diseases, up-to-date agricultural technology, and advice on growing a farm business. The portal may also offer a discussion board where farmers may exchange stories, ask questions, and engage with agricultural extension agents. Farmers in the BPP Limbangan region should now have simpler and quicker access to agricultural knowledge and technology thanks to the availability of the agricultural extension multimedia online portal. It is anticipated that doing this will improve farmers' management abilities and knowledge, boosting output and quality of agricultural goods

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah mengenalkan pemanfaatan Google Application for Education (GAFE) sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan efektifitas dalam pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran di MTs Persis Ciganitri Kab. Bandung. Diharapkan pemanfaatan GAFE tersebut dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa serta mutu individu para peserta didik dalam hal penggunaan teknologi secara lebih tepat dan bermanfaat. Metode pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan PkM ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan. Pertama yaitu dengan melakukan observasi dan diskusi langsung dengan Kepala Madrasah. Kedua, membuat konsep berupa pelatihan atau workshop dengan memberikan penjelasan tentang kegunaan masing-masing aplikasi GAFE, dengan menggunakan metode ceramah (presentasi), tanya jawab (diskusi) dan diskusi serta pendampingan kepada 22 peserta pelatihan, yang berasal dari para guru semua mata pelajaran maupun staf tenaga pengajar. Adapun pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 September 2021, bertempat di Ruang Laboratorium Komputer MTs Persis Ciganitri Kab. Bandung. Di dalam pelatihan tersebut, tim PkM yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Telkom, memberikan referensi berupa pemanfaatan aplikasi serta pemanfaatan GAFE dalam mendukung proses KBM yang dapat digunakan untuk semua mata pelajaran. Selain itu tim juga memberikan pelatihan (workshop) pemanfaatan GAFE seperti platform Google, seperti Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheet, Google Slide, Google Mail, Google Drive dan Google Form, sebagai aplikasi pembelajaran. Hasil yang feedback yang di dapatkan, seluruh peserta (100%) menyatakan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dinilai sangat baik, dan sesuai dengan tujuan kegiatan itu sendiri. Selain itu, kegiatan pelatihan ini sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka selaku masyarakat mitra sasar, sehingga layak untuk dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan pelatihan lainnya, seperti dalam hal pengembangan official website dalam mendukung proses penyebaran informasi dan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Keterampilan public speaking semakin penting dalam era di mana komunikasi menjadi fokus utama dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Dalam konteks sekolah yang bertujuan memberikan pendidikan berkualitas dan relevan, kesadaran akan pentingnya pengembangan keterampilan non-akademis, terutama keterampilan komunikasi, menjadi krusial. Kendala dalam berbicara di depan umum sering dialami oleh siswa, yang mungkin merasa canggung atau kurang percaya diri. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk menyelenggarakan pelatihan public speaking bagi siswa SMK Plus Al Aitaam Bandung untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi mereka. Pelatihan ini akan mencakup persiapan materi presentasi, pengaturan suara dan bahasa tubuh, serta manajemen kecemasan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi workshop interaktif, simulasi praktis, dan sesi pembinaan individu. Melalui serangkaian kegiatan pelatihan, termasuk workshop interaktif, simulasi praktis, dan sesi pembinaan individu, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi siswa yang efektif, mengatasi kecemasan dengan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, dan menjadi komunikator yang lebih percaya diri dalam berbagai konteks. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini dapat memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan bagi siswa, mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi masa depan dengan lebih siap dan berkontribusi positif dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

Teacher self-efficacy is considered important and a priority in the learning process. Teachers who do not have self-efficacy have a negative impact and are related to ability. This is an urgent matter to research to find out the influencing factors of ability and self-efficacy in carrying out education in the school environment. The method used is quantitative. Subjects numbered 263 from a population of 30 schools. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The instruments in the questionnaire are rated on a Likert scale of points 1 to 5 points. Data analysis techniques using Statistics version 25.0 and determining the mean, percentage, and standard deviation as well as inferential analysis are used for regression and correlation. The results and findings show that the level of teacher self-efficacy in implementing education is in the medium category. It was also found that teachers' perceptions of the implementation of leadership were moderate and environmental awareness was also moderate. However, the teacher's attitude in the environment is positive and good. In conclusion, teacher self-efficacy in implementing education must coincide with teacher awareness, teacher perception of leadership, and practice of loving the environment. Recommendations need to further examine teacher self-efficacy in the process towards students in the classroom. This research contributes to providing information about Teacher Self-Efficacy which influences the learning process in schools.

Abstract

The field of Visual Communication Design (VCD) in Indonesia requires students and graduates to enhance their English language skills to stay competitive globally. However, there is a significant gap in understanding the specific English language material needs of students and graduates in this field, so it needs to be more understanding of their particular linguistic needs. This mixed-methods study aims to explore the disparities in English language skills perceived by VCD students and graduates in Indonesia and identify their specific English language material needs. . Through questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions, data were collected from 30 students and 10 graduates. The findings reveal differences in language proficiency or skills perspectives between VCD students and graduates , emphasizing the importance of designing language courses that align with learners' specific needs and industry demands. This study's implications for English language education in various industries highlight the significance of effective communication in a globalized world. By addressing learners' specific language demands, educators can better support students' language learning goals and prepare graduates for success in their professional endeavors. Implementing industry-specific language instruction and curriculum can enhance learners' competitiveness and communication in the workplace, promoting stronger international collaborations within the creative industries. Although challenges may arise in implementing changes, a partnership between academic institutions and industry stakeholders can bridge the gap between academic language learning and real-world language demands. Addressing learners' needs in English language education can ultimately contribute to their professional growth and success in the global market.

Abstract

The problem with learning English in elementary schools is the low learning outcomes of students, especially in understanding the material. The urgency of applying Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a learning medium is to improve students' understanding of English more interestingly and interactively. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using AR in improving student learning outcomes in English subjects in elementary schools. The research method used is quantitative with the research subjects being elementary school students. The data collection technique is carried out through questionnaires filled out by students after using AR-based learning media. The data analysis technique used is a statistical analysis to measure the increase in student learning outcomes before and after using AR. The research results show that there is a significant increase in students' understanding of English material after using AR as a learning medium. This research concludes that the application of AR is effective in improving student learning outcomes in English subjects in elementary schools. The implication of this research is the need to integrate AR technology into the English language learning curriculum in elementary schools to improve the quality of learning and students' understanding of the subject matter.

Abstract

The low results of learning mathematics from year to year give rise to students' perception that mathematics is a difficult subject. This needs to be researched to analyze the relationship between mathematics learning attitudes, anxiety, and habits, and evaluate additional mathematics learning outcomes. Quantitative research method with a survey approach. The research subjects were 253 people using random sampling. The data collection technique uses an instrument adapted from Learning Orientation which includes attitudes, attention, and study habits totaling 52 items. The analysis technique uses correlation and regression with SPSS version 26.0 software. The research results show that attitudes, habits, and anxiety are positively and significantly related to learning. Learning anxiety has a moderate relationship, while attitudes and study habits have a weak relationship with increasing learning achievement. Another finding is that learning anxiety is the main predictor of additional material, compared to attitudes and study habits. In conclusion, learning orientation is one of the factors that plays a very important role in determining the level of student learning achievement. This contribution provides information that students who have a positive attitude in learning show good study habits, therefore the teacher's role is needed to build a positive attitude.
