Abstract

Currently, granulated palm sugar (palm suiker) with local name “gula semut” becameknown and generally produced for export market and partly for domestic food industry.Great market prospects for granulated palm sugar can not be utilized by communitybecause majority of producers make solid (molded) palm sugar. In the district of RokanHulu, granulated palm sugar is only produced by one producer. This research is a casestudy of granulated palm sugar producer with the aims to study: (1) marketing strategyof granulated palm sugar; (2) external and internal marketing factors, and (3) alternativemarketing strategy. Analysis of qualitative description is to describe the marketing ofgranulated palm sugar in the form of marketing mix (product, price, promotion anddistribution). A quantitative analysis carried out to develop a marketing strategy withSWOT analysis. Conclusions of research: (1) product strategy of granulated palm sugaris applied through packaging attributes of halal label, barcode, license, product benefits,and area of origin; (2) the price of the sugar is Rp 30,000 per kg which is considered tooexpensive; (3) promotion strategy is still limited on personal selling by word of mouth;(4) strategy is direct distribution to consumers, and (5) recommended strategy is tomaintain the label and the brand and introduce product to general public, encourageproducers not to make wine to maintain continuity of the sugar production, set priceaccording to production costs while considering purchasing power, maintain healthstandard, and do continuous promotional activities.

Abstract

This study aims was analyze the marketing mix that influences consumer purchasing decisions O’Chicken, Analyzing the relationship between the marketing mix of consumer purchasing decisions O’Chicken. This research using purposive sampling method with the respondents of the study amounted to 50 respondents who have aged > 15 years, shop at O’Chicken more than 1 times. The data were analyzed using Likert scale, validity test, reliability test and Cartesian diagram. The results showed that of the five marketing mix variables, all of which are in the category of "influential". Cartesian diagram analysis shows consumer evaluation based on the level of interest expected by consumers. Quadrant I there is no variable in it, quadrant II which included in that is product and price variable is factor which is considered important for consumer, quadrant III there is promotion variable and location that felt less important for consumer, quadrant IV variable which included in that is service considered exaggerated for consumer but very satisfying. It is recommended that the O'Chicken should improve the marketing mix such as: product, price, place, promotion, service, and evaluate consumer expectation in accordance with the level of importance that has been analyzed using katesius diagram so that consumers will continue to shop and not switch to the fried chicken brand competitors

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the income women rice farmers use jajar legowo method in Empat Balai village and it's efficiency. The research was conducted in Empat Balai village of Kuok district Kampar  regency. Sampling was done deliberately (purposive sampling) that women farmers are using jajar legowo method with the total sample as many as 71 women farmers. The results showed the total fixed cost (TFC) for 71 respondents amounted to Rp 37.289.017 planting season with an average of Rp 525,197 planting season, while the total variable cost (TVC) was Rp 102.142.164 planting season or with average variable cost amounting to Rp 1.703.964 planting seasons for each respondent and total cost (TC) production effort women farmers rice method using jajar legowo method in Empat Balai village was Rp 139,431,169 mt, with an average of Rp 1,963,819 mt. Amount of income received women rice farmers using the jajar legowo method was Rp 255,272,331 mt, with an average of Rp 3.595385 mt.  And the value of R/C ratio business women farmers rice method using jajar legowo in Empat Balai village was 1.83 > R/C or 1 with an average R/C ratio of 3.56 and the average R/C ratio of the smallest 106, meaning farming is done efficiently

Abstract

This study aims to identify institutions and to know the perception of oil palm farmer’s for institutional support Integration System of Oil Palm Cattle Programs (SISKA) in Indragiri Hulu. Methods of data collection using survey methods. The population in this study were farmer’s who applied this SISKA Program and farmer’s are no longer valid SISKA this program. Samples of this technique is 57 people, including respondents who applied and did not apply this SISKA program. Data analysis used descriptive methods. Variables characteristic role of extension were analyzed using Likert Scale. Results shows that the role of Institutional Extension Support (SISKA) by indicator of education with quite a role category, dissemination or innovation information in quite a role category, facilitation in of quite arole category, consultancy in quite a role category, supervision or coaching quite a role category, monitoring and evaluation in quite a role category. The farmer’s perceptions of the SISKA program on the role of education institutions in Indragiri Hulu obtained with quite a role category.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the marketing of coconut sugar based on the structure,conduct and performance of the market. This research is carried out in Indragiri HilirRegency by using survey method over the number of 32 samples. The samples are takenbay snowball sampling start with the sugar makers. The results of this research show thatmarket structure is likely to be monopsony, where trader middle man traders are moredominant while sugar makers are price taker. There are three marketing channels in thisresearch area. From market performance criteria it shows that the first channel is moreprofitable since the costs are much lower and more efficient compare to channel 2 and 3.Keywords: structure, coconut sugar, performance, margin.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the social factors of rice farmers in Rambah Baru Village, Rambah Samo Sub-District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The education level of respondents is moderate because the average of education is junior high school. Residential condition of respondents is considered good and habitable considering the type of building, building status, building area, floor conditions, roof conditions, number of rooms, lighting equipment and the type of wall. The health of respondents is high because the average of respondents do not have a serious or dangerous disease. Most respondents have private vehicles for daily activities. The status of land ownership managed by the respondents is private property with the average of the managed area is 1-2 hectares.

Abstract

The weakness in oil palm plantations in Indonesia is the plantation management and the control of plant pests and diseases and one of the concerns is employment aspect. Harvest labour have a very important role in supporting the company’s production. PT. Tunggal Perkasa Plantation Company engaged in the palm oil industry. One of its palm oil plantation namely Redang Seko Gardens SR6 consists of 185 labour worker. This research aimed to determine the labour management; and to know the gap between the target and realization of harvest labour. The research was carried out at Redang Seko PT. Tunggal Perkasa Plantations, regency of Indragiri Hulu, Riau. Research was conducted from  December 2015 to January 2017. The sample in the research were 30 harvest labour by using proportional stratified random sampling. The results showed that the harvest labour management has been implemented, although there are still many weaknesses in each management functions. The errors that occured due the harvest labour not suitable with the specified SOP. Based on the gap between the target and the realization with only 11 workers achieved the target, while 19 harvets workers did not achieve the target well which was caused by internal and external factors. The independent sample t test showed that the target was higher than the realization, however the result of analysis was not significant.

Abstract

Agricultural extension is part of the national life, especially farmers, and important in promoting the general welfare and one of the keys to the success of strengthening farmer groups. The purpose of this research are: 1) to analyze the cost of production of paddy rice farming in the village Sihepeng Siabu District Mandailing Natal Regency of North Sumatera Province and 2) to analyze the income of rice farmers in Sihepeng Village, Siabu District Mandailing Natal Regency. This study was conducted from May to July 2015. The method used in this study was survey and sampling techniques used was disproportionate stratified Random Sampling. The sampling was 50% of the population, consisting of 54 beginner-class farmers, 9 advanced-class farmers. The results showed the average total cost of production of 0.1-1 ha land area was IDR 3.321.868 and the average total cost of production land area > 1 ha was IDR 18.840.333. Total net income received by farmers with land area of 0,1-1 ha was IDR 545.132.800 with an average income of IDR 8.016.659. Total net revenues received by farmers with land area of > 1 ha was IDR 638.586.400 with an average net income of IDR 42.572.427. Comparison of the results of the income of farmers with an area of 0.1-1 ha of rice field and > 1 ha much greater level of income of farmers in land area > 1 ha due to differences in the area of land owned by farmers. Results expected that the income of farmers in Sihepeng Village with a land area of 0.2 ha to be more efficient in the utilization of paddy fields.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the household income of citrus farmers in Kuok Subdistrict, Kampar Regency based on agricultural income and non-farm income and analyze factors that affect the household income of siamese farmers. The research was conducted from March 2019 to April 2020 in Kuok District, Kampar Regency. The study was conducted by direct interview technique to siamese orange farmers, the number of respondents to 72 siamese orange farming households was taken accidentally from two villages namely Kuok Village and Four Halls. The data used is primary data and secondary data obtained from kuok subdistrict office, Kuok village office and four halls. The data is analyzed descriptively quantitaif and presented in table form. The results showed that based on the coefficient value of factors that affect the household income of siamese orange farmers, land area factors and total costs have a positive influence on the increase in household income of siamese orange farmers derived from farming. Income from farming contributes very much in household income which is 93.24 percent while outside the farm only contributes 6.76 percent. Income from siamese citrus farming contributes more than the oil palm farm. The average household income of siamese orange farmers is Rp. 6,392,359.77 per month. The value of R / C ratio obtained, siamese orange farming and palm oil is very feasible to develop because it has a R / C ratio above 1. Siamese citrus farming has an R/C ratio of 2.44 and palm oil farming has an R/C ratio of 3.31.

Abstract

The patron-client relationship was unbalanced relation between farmers with big compiler, at Koto Damai Village where the big compiler as patron and rubber farmers as client. patron-client relationship make a depedency beetwen each other. This research aim to analyze the patron-client relationship between farmers with big compiler for Ex UPP TCSDP farmers at Koto Damai Village Kampar Kiri Tengah District in Kampar Regency. The research method used survey methode. The sampling method in this research used purposive sampling with criteria of rubber crop age ranging from 21-23 years for 32 rubber farmers. Intake of sample to rubber compiler and factory used snowball sampling method by following its marketing channel. The research result at Koto Damai Village Kampar Kiri Tengah District in Kampar Regency that three marketing channel. Marketing channel 1 start from farmers to big compiler then big compiler sell to rubber factory at Medan. Marketing channel 2 starts from farmers to big compiler with intermediary traders then big compiler sell to rubber factory at Medan. Marketing channel 3 starts from farmers to big compiler with intermediary traders then big compiler sell to rubber factory at Pekanbaru.The relationship farmers with big compiler was patron-client relationship that was any depedent relationship where this relationship was most visible, resiprocity relationship, loyality relationship and personality relationship.
