Abstract

Banyuwangi, a district located in eastern end of Java island has batik as cultural herritage. Batik Banyuwangi as well as other batik has own characteristic according to the origin of the region. In the other side, Banyuwangi has a ethnics origin which is Osing ethnic with own character and local wisdom. Batik Banyuwangi is a kind of batik Pesisiran as batik from coastal region. Batik Pesisiran has a specificity in terms of material and method. Batik Banyuwangi has an interesting spesificity and become distinguishing identity of batik from other area. This research is aimed to compare batik Banyuwangi characteristic with other batik Pesisiran by literature study method. The result shows that batik banyuwangi has own aesthetics (motive and meaning) comparing with other batik Pesisiran. From technical aspect (material and method), batik Banyuwangi have in common with other batik Pesisiran.

Abstract

Styrofoam food packaging waste is plastic waste that can have a negative impact on the environment. The processing of Styrofoam food packaging waste into heat-absorbing composites is rife because it is a heat insulator and porous. This study aims to determine the porosity characteristics of the thermal properties of styrofoam composites. The process of testing composite morphology using a digital camera is then analyzed using Image-J Software. Composite heating rate and thermal conductivity testing using an electric heater with a temperature of 50ÂșC for 20 minutes. Composites with the lowest heating rate and thermal conductivity values are produced by porous composites of 0.173 mm2 with 0.52oC/min and 13.086 W/m.K.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan take off performance antara pesawat yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi pesawat seaplane (amfibi) dan pesawat Cessna standar sebelum dimodifikasi. Komparasi dilakukan menggunakan data dari flight data recorder Garmin G1000 dengan flight data logger. Data yang dipilih adalah berdasarkan pada satu pesawat yang sama, yakni dengan registrasi PK-APH, namun data difilterisasi dengan berbagai kondisi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh modifikasi seaplane (amfibi) yang telah dilakukan dari segi fase climbing, perbandingan ground roll, maksimal ground speed serta maksimal airspeed. Analisis menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara pesawat sebelum dan setelah dimodifikasi menjadi pesawat seaplane. Sebelum modifikasi, pesawat mencapai ketinggian 478,4 kaki diatas permukaan laut dalam 60 detik setelah lepas landas, sedangkan setelah modifikasi hanya mencapai 355,7 kaki di atas permukaan laut. Ground speed pada detik ke-20 juga berbeda, dengan pesawat sebelum modifikasi mencapai 60,69 knots dan pesawat seaplane hanya mencapai 48,65 knots. Perbedaan terlihat pada airspeed awal saat take-off, di mana pesawat sebelum modifikasi memiliki angka 71 knots pada detik ke-24, sedangkan pesawat seaplane memiliki angka 66 knots.

Abstract

Styrofoam (Extruded Polystyrene) waste can be used as a soundproofing material. This study aims to determine the effect of the particle composition of Styrofoam and epoxy resin on the performance of soundproofing composites. The composition between Styrofoam particles and epoxy resin is 20:20; 20:30; and 20:50 grams. Sound absorption test using PVC impedance tube 100 cm long, 15 cm diameter, and 5 mm thick. The variation in the placement distance of the composite from the sound source is 25; 50; and 75 cm and was measured using the sound level meter application. This type of test sound uses a single tone in the frequency range of 0-600 Hz which is recorded per 5 seconds. Composite performance analysis is reviewed based on media density, composite morphological characteristics of Image-J software, and sound absorption coefficient values. The results showed that the greater the composition had increased the density value of composite particles accompanied by a decrease in pore area in the composite media which resulted in a sound absorption coefficient of 15.61 dB at a composition of 20:50 with a distance of 25 cm from the sound source.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bulutangkis memiliki permasalahan kurangnya media pembelajaran yang dapat menyebabkan menurunnya tingkat antusiasme siswa didik. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan metode visual sebagai bahan literasi digital pembelajaran bulutangkis. Deskripsi disusun menggunakan referensi publikasi hasil penelitian berbasis internet. Deskrispi disusun secara sistematis untuk berbagai aktivitas gerak dalam bulutangkis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran bulutangkis dapat dikembangkan menjadi literasi digital dan sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan metode visual penangkapan gerak. Media pembelajaran dapat dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasi.

Abstract

The contact between ball and tennis racket is a collision phenomenon. The ball exerts a force on the racket which causes deflection. This study aims to obtain the deflection characteristics of a tennis racket due to ball contact. The research was conducted by experiment with Kinetic brand rackets. The racket is clamps on the grip. The ball used is Nassau brand with 0.058 kg of mass. Free fall is arranged 1, 2 and 3 meters heights, with 3 hitting points on racket string. The deflection measurement uses the pen method at 5 points on racket frame. Five points are arranged sequentially from the grip with 6 cm distance. Data collection was carried out with 3 repetitions to get average value. The deflection was measured using a caliper with 0.01 mm accuracy. The results show that the deflection has a linear characteristic and depends on the momentum of the ball.

Abstract

Tari Gandrung Banyuwangi sebagai tari tradisional dan tari Balet sebagai tari klasik memiliki gerakan tubuh yang unik dan rumit. Keunikan dan kerumitan gerak ini menuntut kekuatan fisik dan kelenturan tubuh penari-penarinya. Tari Balet merupakan salah satu topik yang banyak dikaji, khususnya dari aspek gerak dan biomekanika. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan potensi biomekanis tari Gandrung berdasarkan perbandingan dengan tari Balet. Perbandingan dilakukan melalui kajian literatur yang menunjukkan kesamaan kedua jenis tari. Selanjutnya, dilakukan review penelitian tari Balet untuk mendapatkan acuan ukuran potensi tari Gandrung. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa tari Gandrung dan tari Balet memiliki kesamaan antara lain pada gerak dasar langkah kaki, posisi tubuh condong ke depan dan posisi tumpuan di ujung telapak kaki. Hasil analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa tari Gandrung juga memiliki potensi untuk menjadi bahan kajian gerak dan biomekanika tari, bahkan berpotensi sebagai bentuk terapi fisik.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain information on the relationship between foot angle and foot support angle on balance in skateboarding boardslide tricks. This research uses a descriptive with a quantitative approach. The assessment was carried out at the Gor Tawang Alun Skatepark arena with a sample size of 5 skateboard athletes. Angle data is collected by recording video, then the data is analyzed using the Kinovea application. To get balance results, the Modified Bass Test of Dynamic Balance test is used. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between the angle of the foot and the support of the foot on balance in the boardslide trick. The higher the balance value, the smaller the angle of the foot and foot support.

Abstract

Sifat mampu basah sebuah permukaan padat menggambarkan kemampuan fluida cair untuk mempertahankan kontak dengan permukaan tersebut. Sifat hidropobik bulu burung dapat menjadi bahan pengembangan material di bidang aviasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan karakteristik hidropobik bulu burung jenis predator nokturnal. Jenis burung yang dikaji adalah burung predator nocturnal yaitu Cabak Mees (Caprimulgus meesi) dan burung hantu jenis Serak Jawa (Tyto alba). Bulu yang dikaji adalah bulu bagian sayap. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan droplet yang divariasi volumenya sebesar 0,025; 0,05 dan 0,1 ml untuk bulu sisi atas dan bawah. Pengukuran sudut kontak droplet dilakukan menggunakan Microsoft Visio Professional 2002 SR-1. Kontur permukaan bulu diamati menggunakan mikroskop digital USB. Foto kontur permukaan diolah dengan aplikasi ImageJ versi 1.53k untuk mendapatkan surface plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bulu burung Cabak Mees dan burung hantu memiliki sifat hidropobik. Bulu burung hantu memiliki sifat hidropobik yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The process of flattening nutmeg is one of the steps that must be carried out before it becomes a dish that can be enjoyed or marketed. The dimensions of the fruit and the relatively unequal surface structure between each other can hinder the flattening process if done in a conventional way. The addition of a profile to increase the surface roughness on the rollers of the flattening machine will affect the performance of the flattening process using a contra-rotary roll type flatter machine. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding a surface profile to increase roller roughness on the flattening performance of nutmeg. The research was conducted by experiment where the profile was made with a pattern of transverse grooves on the rollers using variations in the number of grooves including 4; 6; and 8. Machine performance analysis includes the duration of the flattening process and the physical characteristics of the fruit being processed. The results showed that the maximum weight difference occurred in the 6 groove roller variation of 4.8 g with the highest thickness difference in the 6 groove variation of 3.35 mm. The fastest duration is shown in groove 8 variation of 1.98 sec. The lowest use of electric power is found in the variation of the 8 roller groove of 35.64 W.
