Abstract

This study aims to analyze the attitude of agricultural extension workers toward the use of Digital Population Identity (Indonesian: Identitas Kependudukan Digital [IKD]) in the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Maros Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach, using a questionnaire as the primary instrument. The samples consisted of 66 agricultural extension workers residing in Maros Regency, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS for Windows 23, incorporating Spearman’s rank correlation analysis and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results indicate as follows: (1) Factors influencing the attitude of agricultural extension workers include personal experience, the influence of significant people, and exposure to mass media, which fall into the low to moderate category; formal education falls into the high category, while non-formal education is in the low category. (2) Agricultural extension workers generally agree with the use of IKD in the distribution of subsidized fertilizer, both during the registration of farmers eligible for subsidies and during the verification and validation of farmer data when redeeming subsidized fertilizer. (3) Personal experience, the influence of significant people, and exposure to mass media do not have a significant relationship with agricultural extension workers’ attitudes toward the use of IKD. However, formal and non-formal education significantly correlate with their attitudes toward IKD implementation. (4) There is no significant difference in attitudes toward IKD use between agricultural extension workers who are digitally adaptive and those who are not. However, there is a significant difference in attitude toward IKD use between agricultural extension workers with an S2 (master’s) degree and those with an S1 (bachelor’s) degree. Additionally, a significant difference exists between agricultural extension workers who have attended a high level of non-formal education and those with a low level of non-formal education.

Abstract

The rapid growth of private vehicles in urban areas has caused various problems such as traffic congestion, increased air pollution, excessive fuel consumption, and decreased quality of life. The urgency of this research lies in the need for strategic solutions to reduce the use of private vehicles in the city center, one of which is through the construction of Park and Ride (PnR) facilities integrated with public transportation. The purpose of this research is to determine the strategic location of PnR facilities in Cirebon City to support a more sustainable urban transportation system. This research uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method involving ten main criteria, including parking lot capacity, supporting facilities, ease of access, transportation integration, intermodal connectivity, and development costs. Data was obtained through expert surveys and secondary data from relevant agencies. The results showed that the alun-alun kejaksan area is the most optimal location for the development of PnR facilities, followed by Kejaksan Station, Prujakan Station, and Harjamukti Terminal. This location is superior in terms of accessibility, land capacity, transportation mode integration, and proximity to community activity centers. These findings are expected to be a reference in planning and policy making for the development of urban transportation systems in Cirebon City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development and contribution of research on the topic of ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) using the bibliometric analysis method. ANOVA is a statistical method used to compare the means of three or more groups. Through bibliometric analysis, we explore articles published in journals related to ANOVA within a certain time span, namely 2022-2023. The method of bibliometric analysis involves collecting bibliographic data from relevant sources and analyzing characteristics such as frequency of publication, notable authors, and most frequently cited journals. This study uses a bibliometric analysis method that retrieves 1,911 metadata from Scopus. The results of the bibliometric analysis revealed an increase in the number of publications about ANOVA during the time span studied, namely 2022-2023. These findings indicate that ANOVA remains a relevant and interesting topic for researchers in various disciplines. In addition, there is a wide variety of research topics related to ANOVA, including the use of ANOVA in various contexts, such as laboratory experiments, clinical research, and analysis of survey data. By analyzing the contribution of research on the topic of ANOVA, this study provides valuable insights for us. Moreover, the researcher also discussed prospects for future research on this topic, including the development of new analytical methods and the wider application of ANOVA in various scientific and practical contexts.

Abstract

This article explores the strategic thinking of Admiral James Stavridis, former Commander-in-Chief of the US Navy, on global maritime security. With extensive experience on the battlefield and at the negotiating table, Stavridis offers a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the maritime world. The article analyzes how his deckhand experiences shaped his views on global maritime dynamics, and how he translated this understanding into a comprehensive maritime security strategy. The article uses qualitative methods with a textual analysis approach to examine James Stavridis’ thinking on global maritime security. Data are analyzed through data interpretation and matching techniques to identify key themes and connect Stavridis’ views to his operational and strategic experiences. The article explores how he views the interplay between maritime security, international politics, the global economy, and climate change. It also discusses how Stavridis proposes solutions to maritime security challenges, including the threats of terrorism, piracy, and geopolitical competition. The article concludes by assessing the relevance of Stavridis’ strategic thinking for policymakers and maritime experts around the world.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of naval power in World War II by comparing the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. The main issue addressed is how maritime dominance influenced the course and outcome of the war, and how naval strategies adapted to geographic and enemy-specific challenges. The research aims to analyze the impact of sea power, the strategic advantages of maritime dominance in logistics and offensives, and to compare the strategic approaches of both theaters. A comparative historical study with a qualitative-analytical approach was employed, based on literature reviews and document analysis. The findings indicate that naval power was crucial for sustaining supply lines and executing military offensives, with a defensive convoy strategy in the Atlantic and an offensive island hopping strategy in the Pacific. These contrasting approaches reflect military flexibility in adapting to terrain and enemy forces. This study confirms that maritime dominance not only shaped tactical victory but also laid the foundation for the postwar global geopolitical order.

Abstract

This study analyses Boris Johnson’s policies on maritime security in the North Atlantic, with a focus on naval modernisation and collaboration with NATO. The study finds that Johnson’s policies focus on improving maritime defence technology and strengthening multilateral cooperation in the face of the Russian submarine threat. Although Brexit has changed the UK’s relationship with the European Union, the UK has maintained its role in maintaining maritime stability through NATO. The results of this study demonstrate the effectiveness of Johnson’s policies in addressing security challenges in the North Atlantic, although there is a need for continued investment in maritime defence technology. Recommendations for further research include longitudinal studies and research on the role of technology.

Abstract

Iran has long utilized the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic tool to strengthen its position in regional and global geopolitics. The research method is qualitative descriptive. Data analysis uses SWOT to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the maritime strategy in the Strait of Hormuz. The research results show that Iran's maritime strategy under Admiral Tangsiri has evolved by enhancing asymmetric defense capabilities, utilizing fast boats, drones, and anti-ship missiles to threaten ships passing through the strait. The analysis includes geopolitical, economic, and security factors influencing maritime policy, as well as how the strategy is used as a tool of diplomacy and military power. Iran has successfully projected its maritime power in the Strait of Hormuz as a form of strategic defense against external threats, despite facing challenges from complex regional dynamics.
